SafePal Hardware Wallets

SafePal Hardware Wallets provide air-gapped cold storage solutions for cryptocurrency management through offline signing mechanisms and EAL 5+ or EAL 6+ secure element protection. The product line includes multiple models with varying specifications, supporting QR code-based transaction signing, self-destruct mechanisms upon tampering detection, and true random number generation for private key security. Users pair hardware devices with the SafePal mobile app for asset management across multiple blockchain networks without USB, Bluetooth, WiFi, or NFC connections.

SafePal App

SafePal App implements a self-custodial mobile wallet architecture for iOS and Android platforms, enabling cryptocurrency storage, DeFi protocol interactions, and NFT management. The application supports software wallet creation with mnemonic phrase backup, hardware wallet pairing via QR codes, cross-chain asset swaps through integrated DEX aggregators, and staking services without requiring third-party dApp connections. Users maintain local private key control with integration to various blockchain networks and decentralized applications.

About

SafePal

SafePal is a non-custodial multi-chain cryptocurrency wallet platform offering both hardware and software products for self-custody of digital assets, backed by Binance Labs and serving over 20 million users across 127 countries.

Background and History

SafePal was founded in 2018 with a mission to make self-custody accessible to everyday crypto users. The company distinguished itself early as the first hardware wallet to receive investment from Binance Labs through its inaugural Incubation Program. In February 2021, SafePal launched the SFP token through an Initial Exchange Offering on Binance Launchpad — the first hardware wallet project to reach that platform. Since its founding, SafePal has expanded from a single hardware device into a full wallet ecosystem spanning hardware, mobile, browser, and messaging platforms. By 2024, the company reported more than 20 million users with service coverage in 127 countries and over 200 regions.

Product Line

SafePal organizes its offering around three hardware wallet models and a suite of software clients.

Hardware Wallets:

The SafePal S1 is the flagship air-gapped device. It carries no wireless connectivity of any kind — no Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB data, or NFC — and signs transactions exclusively by scanning QR codes. The S1 incorporates an EAL5+ certified secure element with dual-chip architecture and a self-destruct mechanism that automatically wipes private keys if the device detects tampering or physical intrusion. The SafePal S1 Pro is an enhanced version of the S1 with improved hardware specifications, maintaining the same air-gapped security model. The SafePal X1 is an open-source Bluetooth-enabled hardware wallet aimed at users who prioritize convenience alongside hardware-level key storage.

Software Clients:

SafePal's mobile app is available on iOS and Android and provides full wallet management, DApp browsing, swapping, staking, and earning features. A browser extension covers Chrome, Firefox, and Edge for desktop DeFi access. SafePal Mini is a Telegram Mini App that brings wallet functionality directly into the messaging platform without leaving the app.

Accessories:

The Cypher is SafePal's stainless-steel seed phrase storage solution, engineered to withstand water, fire, and corrosion.

Core Mechanism

SafePal operates as a non-custodial wallet: private keys are generated and stored exclusively on the user's device and never transmitted to SafePal servers. The air-gapped hardware models take this further — the S1 and S1 Pro never connect to any network, requiring all transaction data to pass through QR codes between the device and the SafePal app. The app constructs an unsigned transaction, encodes it as a QR code, the hardware wallet signs it offline, and returns the signed transaction as a second QR code for broadcast. This architecture eliminates the attack surface associated with USB or wireless connections.

Across all product tiers, SafePal provides a built-in DApp browser, aggregated swaps, the Gas Station feature (which lets users exchange SFP tokens for gas fee tokens across chains without holding the destination network's native token), and an Earn aggregator that surfaces yield opportunities including liquid staking and vault strategies.

Blockchain Coverage and Solana Support

SafePal supports hundreds of blockchain networks and token standards. Solana integration has been live since 2021, covering native SOL management, SPL token support, swapping, and staking directly within the SafePal app and compatible hardware wallets. Users can interact with Solana DeFi applications through the built-in DApp browser on supported devices.

In February 2026, SafePal formalized its Solana commitment with a $3 million Solana Builder's Grant program running throughout the calendar year. The initiative allocates $2 million in hardware wallet sponsorships and $1 million in marketing resources to qualifying Solana ecosystem projects. Grant applications are evaluated on project longevity, monthly active users, total value locked, and ecosystem contributions such as hackathon participation. SafePal also produced 1,500 limited-edition Solana-branded hardware wallets distributed to event attendees and community participants.

SFP Token

The SFP token is issued as a BEP-20 token on BNB Chain and an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, with a fixed total supply of 500 million. SFP serves several functions within the SafePal ecosystem. Token holders receive fee discounts on SafePal product purchases. Stakers gain enhanced APY in SafePal Earn pools relative to non-stakers, as well as eligibility for partner token airdrops. The Gas Station feature allows SFP to be exchanged for gas tokens across supported blockchains. Projects can also pay SFP to request DApp and token featured placement within the wallet interface. SFP trades on Binance and other major centralized and decentralized exchanges.

Security

SafePal's hardware security architecture relies on the EAL5+ certified secure element, device authentication at boot, and air-gapped QR-code signing for its S1-series devices. The company reported a seven-year operational record without a known wallet hack and states it has blocklisted over 2,400 scam DApps across its platform.

In August 2026, SafePal disclosed a security incident in which an unauthorized party accessed a subset of customer order information. The company published a disclosure on its official blog indicating the breach affected order data rather than wallet funds or private keys. The X1 hardware wallet is open-source, allowing independent firmware review. Formal third-party audit reports for SafePal's software layer have not been prominently published.

Recent Integrations

SafePal has pursued a strategy of expanding wallet-native trading and yield capabilities. Integrations from 2025 through mid-2026 include: Hyperliquid for perpetual contract trading with up to 40x leverage; Aster for crypto and real-world asset perpetuals with hidden order support, launched July 2026; SoDEX for tokenized stocks, gold, and crypto trading within self-custody, announced August 2026; Morpho Vaults for risk-adjusted stablecoin yield through the SafePal Earn aggregator; Tonstakers for GRAM liquid staking on TON at up to 15% APY; and Robinhood Mainnet integration, added July 2026.

Ecosystem Position

SafePal occupies a mid-market position in the self-custody wallet space, offering hardware security at consumer price points alongside a broad multi-chain footprint and an increasingly integrated DeFi surface through its software clients. Its Binance Labs backing and Binance Launchpad origin have historically tied it to the BNB Chain ecosystem, though its multi-chain expansion and Solana-specific investments reflect a deliberate effort to serve users across the broader industry. The $3 million Solana Builder's Grant and native SPL token support position SafePal as an active participant in Solana's self-custody and DeFi growth trajectory.
