Request Finance

Request Finance is an all-in-one financial operations platform designed for Web3 companies, DAOs, and distributed teams that need to manage both crypto and fiat workflows without switching between multiple tools. Built on top of the Request Network decentralized protocol, it abstracts away blockchain complexity and provides a professional interface for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, expense management, and accounting — all from a single dashboard.

Background

Request Finance emerged from the Request Network ecosystem, which was founded in 2017 by Christophe Lassuyt and Etienne Tatur. The commercial application was incorporated separately and raised a $4 million seed round in August 2021. The company is headquartered in Paris, France, with Christophe Lassuyt serving as CEO. Since launch, over 2,000 Web3 startups and corporations have adopted the platform, with the company reporting more than 5,000 customers globally across 190+ countries.

How It Works

Request Finance is a software layer built on top of the Request Network, a decentralized invoicing and payment protocol built on Ethereum. The Request Network handles on-chain payment records, immutable invoice storage, and cross-chain payment detection, while Request Finance provides the user-facing product experience that strips away the technical complexity.

Users create a dedicated finance account that connects existing bank accounts and crypto wallets into a single operational view. From this account, organizations can top up, hold, convert, and pay out in any combination of crypto and fiat without switching platforms. Incoming payments are detected automatically across more than 25 supported chains, eliminating the need to manually poll blockchains or reconcile transactions by hand.

Product Suite

Invoicing and Accounts Receivable: Businesses can issue professional invoices and receive payment in over 350 cryptocurrencies or 20+ fiat currencies. Invoices are created on-chain through the Request Network, giving them an immutable audit trail. Payment status updates automatically when a counterparty settles the invoice.

Accounts Payable: Organizations can approve and pay bills to vendors and contractors across 190+ countries. The platform handles multi-currency payments, including stablecoin transfers at zero processing fee and fiat wire transfers at a flat 0.5% fee regardless of volume.

Payroll: Finance teams can create and batch-execute salary payments to employees and contractors in either crypto or fiat. The payroll module supports payments across multiple countries and entities. The platform does not provide Employer of Record services, tax withholding, or statutory compliance — it is a payment execution tool, not an HR infrastructure provider.

Expense Management: Employees can submit expenses for reimbursement through the platform, and finance teams can process those reimbursements in crypto or fiat. Corporate cards are available on paid tiers.

Accounting Integrations: Request Finance connects natively with QuickBooks Online, Xero, and NetSuite (the last on the Premium tier only), automatically syncing payment and invoice data to reconcile crypto transactions inside conventional accounting workflows.

Solana Support

Solana is among the chains supported for payments within Request Finance. The integration takes advantage of Solana's high throughput and low transaction costs, which are particularly relevant for teams making frequent contractor payments or batch payroll runs where Ethereum gas fees would be prohibitive. Solana-based projects can also request that their native tokens be listed as payment options inside the Request Finance app, enabling ecosystem participants to invoice and pay in Solana-native assets.

Pricing and Access

Request Finance offers a free tier for freelancers that covers invoice creation and crypto payment receipt with no monthly fee. Business plans are tiered by team size and entity count:

  • Basic: Up to 5 team members and 5 corporate cards
  • Pro: Up to 20 team members, 3 entities, and accounting integrations
  • Premium: Unlimited users, 10 entities, white-glove onboarding, and NetSuite access

Transaction fees are structured simply: stablecoin payouts carry no processing fee, while fiat payouts cost 0.5% flat.

Security and Compliance

Request Finance holds SOC 2 Type 1 certification. The platform implements role-based access controls, allowing finance teams to define approval hierarchies before payments are executed. Because payment records are anchored on the Request Network on-chain, there is an immutable transaction history that can be referenced for audit purposes independently of the Request Finance application.

Ecosystem Position

Request Finance occupies a specific niche in the Web3 financial stack: it is not a DeFi protocol, a custodial wallet, or a bank, but rather a finance operations layer that bridges crypto-native companies with conventional accounting and banking workflows. Its zero-fee stablecoin model positions it as a low-friction option for DAO treasury disbursements and contractor-heavy Web3 businesses that move significant volume in USDC or USDT but still need fiat offramps and accountant-readable records. The platform's support for Solana alongside Ethereum-native chains gives Solana ecosystem companies — many of which run lean, distributed teams paying international contributors — access to a finance stack that treats Solana payments as a first-class option rather than an afterthought.
