PublicAI Data Hub
PublicAI Data Hub is a decentralized AI training data platform that coordinates human contributors through campaign-based data collection, annotation, and quality validation using a Web3 incentive system. The platform uses a Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus mechanism to validate contributed datasets, with contributors staking $PUBLIC tokens as quality collateral and earning rewards when their responses align with consensus. A companion Chrome extension, Data Hunter, enables node operators to collect data passively through browsing and AI-assisted social media engagement, with earnings tracked directly in the Data Hub dashboard. Enterprise clients access curated multimodal datasets including ASR and TTS collections through an integrated Data API Suite and Vector Database.

PublicAI
TLDR
PublicAI is a decentralized data infrastructure network that sits between human contributors and AI labs. Contributors complete data annotation tasks and earn $PUBLIC tokens. The platform's quality layer — a Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) consensus voting protocol — runs on the Solana blockchain, providing a verifiable on-chain trust anchor. Since its August 2025 token generation event, PublicAI has expanded its product suite to include Trajector, an open-source CLI tool that converts Claude Code development sessions into licensable training data, and PublicAI Index, a transparent LLM benchmark aggregator.
How It Works
PublicAI operates on the principle of "User-generated, AI-learned, Benefits user." The network addresses two persistent problems in AI development: sourcing high-quality, diverse training data and verifying model quality in an auditable way.
On the data supply side, contributors join the platform and complete annotation tasks across text, audio, video, and geospatial data. An AI-assisted workflow pre-labels incoming data, then human validators review and correct the AI's output. This hybrid approach reduces the cost of pure human annotation while maintaining quality at scale. Contributors who produce validated work earn $PUBLIC token rewards proportional to their output.
On the consensus side, the platform records RLHF preference votes — the human judgments used to fine-tune AI model behavior — to a smart contract on Solana. Anchoring these votes on-chain makes the alignment process verifiable and auditable in a way that centralised providers cannot replicate. Solana was selected for its throughput and low transaction costs, properties that matter at the volume PublicAI's contributor base can generate.
Products
Core Data Network The primary platform is a marketplace for AI data annotation work. AI companies and labs post labeling projects; contributors complete tasks and earn tokens. The platform supports multi-modal data types and cross-chain token settlement on BEP20 (BSC), SPL (Solana), and NEP141 (NEAR).
Trajector Trajector is an open-source command-line tool that converts existing Claude Code development sessions into compensated training data contributions. Developers run sessions on code they own and Trajector captures the full interaction trace — including failures, retries, and multi-step reasoning — masking any secrets locally before upload, then submitting the redacted result to PublicAI's data pool. AI labs can license these authentic agentic coding traces, which carry more training value than synthetic examples because they contain genuine problem-solving pathways at scale. Developers are reviewed before enabling projects and earn $PUBLIC for accepted sessions.
PublicAI Index The Index is a transparent LLM leaderboard that aggregates publicly available benchmark scores without creating a proprietary testing regime. It is free to query and exposes a JSON API and an MCP server endpoint, making it machine-readable as well as human-readable. The weighting methodology is documented and open, allowing anyone to inspect how models are ranked.
Token: $PUBLIC
The $PUBLIC token had its generation event on 15 August 2025, launching first on Binance Alpha with subsequent exchange listings. Total supply is fixed at 1 billion tokens, with approximately 239.86 million tokens (around 24% of supply) in circulation as of mid-2026.
Funding rounds:
- Seed (January 2024): $2M — IOBC Capital, Foresight Ventures, Solana Foundation, Everstate Capital
- Series A (June 2025): $8M — Saudi Telecom Group, NEAR Foundation, Yield Guild Games, and others
- CoinList public sale (August 2025): $2M at $0.07 per token, implying a $70M valuation at launch
Total funding reached $12M prior to the TGE. The token hit an all-time high of $0.1541 on launch day — 15 August 2025 — before retracing significantly. As of September 2026, $PUBLIC trades near $0.0027, with a market cap under $1M, reflecting difficult conditions for early-stage Web3 AI tokens. The token serves four functions on the platform: governance participation, contributor incentive payments, staking for validator status, and access to premium data pipeline features.
Team
PublicAI was founded by Dr. Steven Wong alongside a team that includes PhDs and professors affiliated with Stanford University, as well as professionals with backgrounds at Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan. The project was incubated through the Stanford Blockchain Accelerator (Blockchain Founders Fund) and won the "Beyond Borders AI Startup Competition" at the MIT Saudi Business Symposium in 2025. The academic and finance pedigree of the founding team is reflected in the platform's early emphasis on consensus mechanism design and economic incentives for data quality assurance.
Audits and Transparency
PublicAI emphasises on-chain verifiability as a core differentiator. The RLHF consensus smart contract deployed on Solana creates a permanent, inspectable record of the preference judgments that feed model training. The Trajector client is open source with build attestation published on each release, so contributors can verify exactly what data leaves their machine before upload. Consent is granted per project, and secret masking runs locally rather than server-side. Formal third-party smart contract audit details were not confirmed in publicly available sources as of this writing.
Partnerships
PublicAI joined the Chainlink Build program, gaining access to Chainlink's oracle infrastructure and developer resources. The Solana Foundation participated in the seed round as both a financial backer and ecosystem partner. NEAR Foundation joined in Series A, reflecting the project's multi-chain architecture.
Solana Fit
Solana is PublicAI's primary consensus chain. The RLHF voting protocol — the mechanism that determines which human feedback is incorporated into model training — is deployed on Solana, chosen for its ability to handle high transaction volumes at low cost. The $PUBLIC token is natively available as an SPL token, settling within the Solana ecosystem. With the Solana Foundation as a seed investor and the network's consensus layer anchored on-chain on Solana, the project's alignment with the ecosystem is structural. For Solana, PublicAI represents one of the earliest on-chain AI alignment infrastructure plays — a use case that puts Solana's throughput advantages to work in a domain where data integrity and auditability are high-value properties.
Current Status
PublicAI is active. Its most recent product releases — Trajector and PublicAI Index — represent an expansion from pure crowdsourced annotation toward higher-value agentic training data and infrastructure tooling for the AI developer community. The platform reports over 3 million global data contributors and approximately $14M in cumulative platform revenue. The $PUBLIC token is live across multiple exchanges, though it trades well below its August 2025 launch price amid broader contraction in the Web3 AI token market.
