Mantis Protocol

AhfoGVmS19tvkEG2hBuZJ1D6qYEjyFmXZ1qPoFD6H4Mj

Mantis Protocol implements an intent-processing system on a Solana Virtual Machine rollup, where a network of solvers compete to find optimal execution paths for cross-domain transactions. The protocol features native IBC capabilities for secure interchain communication, delivering improved pricing and MEV protection across multiple blockchains.

About

Mantis

Mantis was an intent-based cross-chain DeFi trading platform on Solana by the Composable Foundation. As of mid-2026 all primary domains including mantis.app, docs.mantis.app, and about.mantis.app resolve to NXDOMAIN, the Composable Foundation website is unreachable, the native M token has stopped trading on all exchanges tracked by CoinGecko, and CryptoRank classifies the token as inactive. No formal shutdown announcement has been located, but the combination of offline infrastructure, an inactive token, and no social output from the team since early 2024 is consistent with a discontinued project. Launched in beta on Solana mainnet in December 2024, Mantis positioned itself as the first intent-based trading platform on Solana leveraging a solver network for best execution pathways. It aimed to abstract away the complexity of cross-chain DeFi by letting users express simple trade goals rather than manually navigating individual bridges or liquidity pools. Mantis was developed by the Composable Foundation (previously Composable Finance), the team behind the Picasso Network and its IBC infrastructure. The project described itself as Solana's first restaked Layer 2 rollup built on Picasso's Generalized Restaking Layer. The core mechanism: users submitted intents expressing desired trades, a permissionless network of staked solvers competed to execute them via optimal routes, and the winning solver executed with its staked collateral as guarantee. Cross-chain finality used the IBC protocol through Picasso's IBC Hub, extending reach to Ethereum, Cosmos, Polkadot, and Kusama. Key features included chain abstraction (users needed no knowledge of underlying bridges), MEV protection via the solver auction model, dual-layer staking yield (Solana validator rewards plus restaking LSTs inside Picasso's hub), personalized AI agents powered by the DISE LLM, and Uniswap V4 hooks integration. The project also announced MEV research collaborations with Harvard, University of Lisbon, University of Virginia, and Brown University. In its first two weeks of beta, Mantis recorded approximately 2.7 million USD in trading volume with fewer than 23,000 participants. The native M token launched January 2025 with 100 million total supply. Airdrop allocation was 16.18 percent distributed to campaign participants and PICA stakers. The token listed on MEXC and its Solana contract address is Mant1sZcb8x2YMZe7RdqSfStCj4YxjmQByNKyHpLJK9. CoinGecko shows no trading volume. CryptoRank marks it inactive. CertiK Ventures was listed as an investor. In December 2024 Arthur Hayes of Maelstrom joined as strategic advisor. The @mantis_app account on X has had no recent activity and the team's Medium blog has not published since April 2024.
