Nodex
Nodex implements non-custodial payment gateway infrastructure through smart contracts and decentralized liquidity pools, enabling merchants to accept cryptocurrency payments with instant settlement. The system optimizes routing and fetches best rates across multiple blockchain networks while maintaining zero merchant fees.
Nodex
Nodex is a non-custodial cryptocurrency payment gateway operated by Nodex Global Limited. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Singapore, the platform positions itself as "The Gateway to Borderless Finance," enabling merchants worldwide to accept crypto payments and settle instantly in stablecoins without ever surrendering custody of customer funds to a third party.
The Problem It Solves
Traditional crypto payment processors impose compounding friction: fees of 1–3% per transaction, multi-day settlement delays, custodial risk where a processor holds merchant funds, and mandatory KYC/compliance screening that raises the barrier to entry. Nodex targets all four pain points simultaneously. Merchants pay zero platform transaction fees, receive stablecoins the moment a payment clears on-chain, retain direct control over their receiving wallet, and can onboard without a screening process.
Beyond fee reduction, Nodex addresses the volatility mismatch that deters merchants from accepting crypto. A customer who wants to pay in ETH and a merchant who wants to receive USDC previously required either custodial conversion services or a willingness to absorb spot-price risk. Nodex eliminates that gap at the smart-contract layer.
Core Mechanism
The platform deploys merchant-specific smart contracts on each supported blockchain. When a payment initiates, the contract accepts the payer's chosen token, routes it through decentralized liquidity pools to find the optimal conversion rate at that moment, and settles the merchant's preferred receipt asset directly to the merchant's connected Web3 wallet. The company explicitly states it does "not at any time hold, custody, or control any User digital assets," making the platform non-custodial end to end.
Economically, the zero-fee claim is precise: Nodex charges merchants no platform percentage. The actual cost of conversion is captured through a 0.1–0.5% spread margin on decentralized liquidity pool transactions, plus a 0.1% voluntary donation fee. These costs are borne at the liquidity layer rather than as a named merchant fee, consistent with how AMM-based protocols price conversions.
Supported Networks and Tokens
Nodex supports eleven blockchain networks: Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Avalanche C-Chain, Astar Network, Arbitrum One, OP Mainnet, Mantle Network, Oasys, Base, and Solana. This multi-chain coverage allows merchants to accept customers regardless of their preferred network, while the back-end routing handles cross-chain conversion transparently.
On the receipt side, merchants select one of four stablecoin assets when configuring their account: USDT, USDC, DAI, or JPYC. This selection is permanent after setup, reflecting the fact that the deployed smart contract is tailored to that specific output asset. Payers, by contrast, can pay in any token supported on their chosen network, with Nodex's liquidity routing handling the conversion. Payers can also denominate the payment amount in fiat currencies including USD, JPY, EUR, AED, SGD, HKD, CAD, IDR, PHP, INR, and KRW, with the platform computing the equivalent token amount at current rates.
Nodex has no native protocol token.
Key Features
QR Code Payments: Merchants generate payment QR codes without writing any code, making in-person or link-based checkout accessible to non-technical sellers.
Payment Request API: A programmatic API allows developers to generate payment URLs and embed crypto checkout into web storefronts, enabling e-commerce integration.
Custom Branding: Merchants can upload logo icons to payment pages, providing a white-label-adjacent experience for customer-facing flows.
Webhook Notifications: Optional webhook callbacks deliver payment confirmation events to merchant backends upon settlement, supporting order fulfillment automation.
Flexible Pricing: Merchants can set a fixed payment amount or allow payers to enter their own amount, supporting both retail checkout and open-ended contribution scenarios such as donations.
Payment Deadlines: Payment expiration windows with a default of one hour address the risk of transaction reorgs or stale payment requests on congested chains.
Browser-Based Dashboard: The merchant dashboard runs in standard browsers including Chrome, Brave, and Firefox with no native app or custodial account required.
Solana Ecosystem Fit
Solana is among the eleven chains where Nodex deploys merchant smart contracts. This positions Nodex as a multi-chain payment gateway that includes Solana's high-throughput, low-fee settlement environment alongside EVM-compatible chains. For merchants accepting USDC or USDT on Solana, Nodex provides a non-custodial alternative to traditional payment processors, leveraging Solana's fast finality for near-instant settlement.
Team and Funding
Nodex Global Limited is incorporated in the British Virgin Islands and operates its primary go-to-market presence from Singapore. The company structure includes a designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Compliance Officers, consistent with BVI regulatory expectations. The founders and leadership team are not publicly disclosed in the company's official documentation.
According to PitchBook, Nodex Pay has raised $1.5 million in funding from investors including 071labs, MZ Web3 Fund, Arriba Studio, and FLICKSHOT.
Security and Compliance
No third-party security audits of Nodex's smart contracts are publicly documented. The platform's terms state the service is provided "as is" and acknowledge that no electronic storage method is fully secure. On the compliance side, Nodex voluntarily adopts AML/CFT frameworks and BVI data protection standards. Because the platform is non-custodial, merchants bear responsibility for the security of their own Web3 wallets.
