NetSepio
NetSepio is a DePIN-powered decentralized internet platform that combines a censorship-resistant VPN network with a distributed AI agent coordination layer. Founded in 2024, the project builds infrastructure it describes as the "sovereignty stack for digital agency": a physical node network that users can join to earn rewards, private connectivity for end users, and a compute platform for deploying autonomous AI agents across distributed hardware.
Erebrus: The Decentralized VPN
The core product is Erebrus, a decentralized VPN (dVPN) protocol that replaces centralized server infrastructure with a peer-operated node network. Unlike conventional VPNs that route traffic through corporate servers, Erebrus distributes that function across thousands of independently operated nodes, removing single points of control and enabling censorship resistance.
The protocol supports three transport modes to accommodate different threat environments. WireGuard (UDP 51820) provides fast-path connectivity for standard use. VLESS with the REALITY stealth carrier (TCP 443) disguises VPN traffic as normal HTTPS, allowing users to bypass deep-packet inspection in restrictive networks. Hysteria2 (UDP 443) offers a QUIC-based option with optional obfuscation for high-latency or congested connections. This protocol flexibility positions Erebrus for users in jurisdictions where VPN detection is a concern, not just users seeking basic privacy.
A companion dWiFi product extends VPN-grade protection to public wireless networks, adding a firewall layer for users connecting to untrusted hotspots.
Erebrus launched a mobile application in November 2024, available on Android and iOS, and became available on the Solana dApp Store, allowing Solana Mobile device owners to activate subscriptions and connect to the decentralized network directly through their blockchain-native devices.
Node Architecture and DePIN Economics
Three node types form the Erebrus network, each serving a distinct function:
Nexus Nodes are full-scale orchestrators that require a domain and static IP. They manage VPN access, firewalls, DNS assignment, and production application deployment for global connectivity. These nodes represent the backbone of the network.
Beacon Nodes function as decentralized VPN gateways, running as Docker containers with a static IP and accepting client connections. They are the primary layer through which end users access the network.
Astro Nodes are lightweight, client-mode nodes that allow operators to deploy AI agents and host lightweight web application services locally. They enable resource sharing while offering staking rewards, making them the entry-level participation option for users without dedicated server infrastructure.
Node operators earn token-based rewards tied to bandwidth contributed, uptime, and adherence to performance standards. The network compensates nodes automatically based on these metrics, creating a direct economic relationship between infrastructure contribution and earnings. Zero-knowledge proofs are checkpointed on a permissionless public blockchain to maintain transparent verification of node participation without exposing user data.
On the privacy side, Erebrus is designed around strict data minimization: the system does not log traffic content, destination IPs, DNS queries, or connection records. Only bandwidth metadata and online-time metrics are transmitted to the gateway for billing purposes.
CyreneAI: AI Agents on Distributed Compute
The second major product line is CyreneAI, which launched publicly in March 2025 and reached full mainnet with its native token in May 2025. CyreneAI uses the Erebrus node network as distributed compute infrastructure for deploying and running autonomous AI agents.
The platform allows users to deploy AI agents across multiple Nexus nodes simultaneously, enabling fault tolerance and horizontal scaling without relying on centralized cloud providers. Operators can configure agents with custom character parameters, tone, and dialogue settings, then embed them as live chatbots in external websites or applications.
A dCompute layer built on distributed Docker containers handles more intensive workloads: image and video processing, PDF parsing, and static website hosting, tasks that would typically require dedicated cloud infrastructure.
The CYAI token is issued on Solana and verified on Jupiter, making it discoverable and tradable within Solana's DeFi ecosystem. The token also powers a launchpad product that provides early-stage projects with access to the Solana capital markets, extending NetSepio's product scope beyond infrastructure into tokenized startup financing.
Ecosystem and Traction
By the end of 2024, Erebrus had accumulated more than 2,000 connected wallets and over 5,000 VPN client connections. NetSepio secured integrations across EVM chains, Solana, Eclipse, peaq, and Aptos, reflecting a multi-chain deployment strategy centered on Solana for the token layer.
The team accumulated competitive recognition during 2024: the Grand Prize at ETH SEA, first place at the IVS Crypto Demoday in Japan, and victory at the Lisk Pitch Competition. The project assembled more than 25 partners and supporters, including notable integrations with Spheron (targeting 10,000 or more contributors through a Merged Nodes initiative), Wootzapp (a secure browser), Functionland (hardware device nodes), and Beacon Protocol (AI model training data security).
Community programs including the Cypherpunk Reward Program and periodic meme contests have contributed to ongoing user acquisition and community engagement. CyreneAI's June 2025 update added CLI support for Astro nodes, live chatbot embedding, and a command-line interface for developers to manage decentralized compute directly, signaling continued active development across both the VPN and AI product lines.
