LI.FI
LI.FI is a cross-chain bridge and DEX aggregation infrastructure layer built for developers, not end users. Founded in Berlin in 2021 by Philipp Zentner (CEO) and Max Klenk (CTO), the company provides a single API and SDK that abstracts the complexity of moving assets between blockchains—routing trades through whichever combination of bridges, DEX aggregators, and intent-based solver networks produces the best price, lowest gas cost, and highest probability of success for any given transaction.
The core value proposition is B2B: instead of a wallet or DeFi application maintaining separate integrations with Wormhole, Stargate, Across, Uniswap, and a half-dozen other protocols, a developer integrates LI.FI once and gains access to the full stack. LI.FI handles route optimization, token standard normalization across chains (preventing wrapped-asset failures), automatic fallback routing if a provider goes offline, and transaction tracking through completion. The platform supports same-chain swaps, cross-chain swaps and bridging, and multi-step flows such as bridge-then-swap-then-deposit sequences triggered by a single API call.
Products
LI.FI offers three primary integration paths. The REST API exposes full routing, quote, and execution functionality for any backend. The JavaScript/TypeScript SDK gives front-end developers programmatic control over the same routing engine with tighter UX integration. The Widget is a pre-built, configurable swap and bridge UI component that can be deployed in under five minutes. On top of these, the company has shipped specialized tooling including LI.FI Earn (yield routing), LI.FI Intents (solver-based execution), a Stablecoin API for stablecoin-optimized routing, and LI.FI Scan, an explorer for tracking cross-chain transactions. Jumper.Exchange is the team's own consumer-facing interface, but it is a separate product from the API/SDK infrastructure that third-party integrators use.
Solana Support
LI.FI expanded its routing coverage to Solana in August 2024, adding the ecosystem as a first-class destination alongside its existing EVM chain support. The expansion introduced two bridge integrations specifically for Solana connectivity: Mayan (powered by Wormhole) for general cross-chain transfers, and Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) for native USDC bridging. On the DEX side, LI.FI integrated Jupiter, Solana's leading liquidity aggregator, ensuring that swaps on-chain receive competitive pricing. The practical result is that any application using the LI.FI API can route assets from Ethereum, Arbitrum, or other EVM networks to Solana—and back—without managing separate Solana-specific integrations. Phantom was among the first wallets to leverage this, having piloted an early version of LI.FI's Solana support before the full public expansion, facilitating millions of dollars in cross-chain volume between Solana and EVM chains. LI.FI has also indicated plans to extend support to SVM-compatible chains beyond Solana mainnet, starting with Eclipse.
July 2024 Security Incident
On July 16, 2024, LI.FI suffered an $11.6 million exploit affecting 153 wallets on Ethereum and Arbitrum. The attack exploited a vulnerability in a newly deployed smart contract facet called GasZipFacet, which LI.FI had added several days earlier to enable gas refueling for bridging transactions. A missing whitelist validation check in that facet allowed an attacker to make arbitrary external calls to any contract without restriction. The attacker used this to drain USDC, USDT, and DAI from wallets that had granted the LI.FI contract infinite token approvals—the default for users who manually raised their approval limits. Users relying on the finite approvals set by the LI.FI API, SDK, and Widget by default were not affected.
The team identified and disabled the vulnerable facet across all chains within hours of detecting the breach, containing further losses. LI.FI subsequently published a detailed post-mortem attributing the root cause to human error in the deployment oversight process—specifically, the failure to apply a validation check that had been required for all prior facets. The team worked with eleven named external security researchers during recovery and coordinated with law enforcement. LI.FI and its major investors committed to fully compensating affected users and directed impacted wallets to submit claims directly.
This was not the first time LI.FI had faced an exploit of this nature; a similar arbitrary-call vulnerability had been identified and patched in 2022, making the 2024 recurrence a significant reputational as well as financial setback for the protocol.
Ecosystem and Growth
LI.FI's integrator roster spans some of the largest consumer-facing crypto products in operation. Wallets using LI.FI for swap and bridge infrastructure include MetaMask, Phantom, Coinbase Wallet, Ledger Live, Binance Web3 Wallet, Brave Wallet, Rainbow, and Rabby. Major centralized-exchange and fintech brands with LI.FI integrations include Robinhood, Binance, Kraken, Hyperliquid, and Alipay. Circle uses LI.FI infrastructure for stablecoin routing. As of late 2025, the protocol was approaching 1,000 active B2B integrators.
Volume metrics reflect the scale of that integrator base. LI.FI has processed more than $80 billion in lifetime transfers across over 100 million individual transactions spanning 60+ supported blockchains. Monthly volume grew 595% year-over-year from October 2024 to October 2025, reaching $8 billion in a single month. The company employs over 100 people.
Funding
LI.FI has raised approximately $52 million in total capital. The most recent round, closed in December 2025, was a $29 million Series A extension led by Multicoin Capital and CoinFund. Earlier funding included a $17.5 million Series A and a $5.5 million seed round. The investor base backing the company includes firms with strong Solana and multi-chain ecosystem positions, which aligns with LI.FI's strategy of extending routing coverage across all major blockchain ecosystems rather than specializing in any single network.
The December 2025 raise outlined several near-term priorities: building infrastructure for AI agent-driven commerce (enabling autonomous agents to move funds across chains), expanding stablecoin routing capabilities, and launching an open intent and solver marketplace that would allow third-party solvers to compete for routing orders—a shift toward more decentralized execution on top of LI.FI's aggregation layer.
