Footprint Analytics Data API
Footprint Analytics Data API provides unified RESTful endpoints delivering structured blockchain data across NFT, GameFi, and DeFi domains. The system aggregates raw blockchain transactions into queryable datasets supporting both statistical metrics and granular transaction data.
Footprint Analytics
Footprint Analytics is a Web3 data platform that aggregates, cleans, and indexes on-chain data across more than 30 blockchains including Solana, and exposes that data through no-code dashboards, a SQL API, and downloadable structured datasets.
What It Does
Blockchain data is notoriously difficult to work with raw: events are scattered across blocks, smart contract ABIs require decoding, and cross-chain comparisons demand coordination across incompatible indexing formats. Footprint Analytics abstracts this complexity. It runs ETL pipelines that ingest raw chain data, decode it, and classify it into standardized tables covering protocols, wallets, tokens, NFTs, and GameFi activity. The result is a query-ready data layer that teams can access without writing indexers or maintaining their own node infrastructure.
The platform supports Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Sui, StarkNet, and several Bitcoin sidechains among its 30+ covered networks. Its dataset claims coverage of more than 30,000 protocols, 100 million tokens, and 2 million NFTs.
How It Works
Footprint's core infrastructure follows a Bronze-Silver-Gold data tiering model. Raw on-chain data (Bronze) is processed through ETL pipelines using Python and SQL, decoded and enriched, then promoted to standardized Silver tables, and further aggregated into Gold datasets suited for direct analytical use. The company's GitHub organization publishes the chain-specific ETL tools behind this pipeline: ethereum-etl (a fork of the open-source Ethereum ETL project), sui-etl, starknet_etl, and a trino-starrrocks connector that links the query engine to the underlying columnar store.
The analytics front end is built on a heavily modified fork of Metabase, an open-source business intelligence tool. Footprint extends Metabase with blockchain-specific visualizations, cross-chain data joins, and a caching layer that stores previously executed query results to reduce recomputation costs on repeated queries.
Key Products
Analytics is the core offering: a no-code, drag-and-drop dashboard builder similar to Tableau. Users can build charts, set filters, and share dashboards without writing SQL. For analysts who want more control, the platform also exposes a SQL query interface against its indexed tables.
Data Room is a structured data access layer that allows batch downloads of standardized datasets. This is aimed at teams that want to pull Footprint's cleaned data into their own data warehouses or models rather than using the platform's UI.
Growth Analytics is an integrated reporting layer that combines Web3 on-chain metrics (wallet activity, protocol TVL, token transfers) with Web2 growth data (community size, engagement metrics). The intent is to give marketing and growth teams a single view of a protocol's combined on-chain and off-chain footprint.
OmniMCP, announced in April 2025, is an AI agent framework built on Footprint's data infrastructure. It lets developers integrate live blockchain data queries into AI agent workflows. The framework was announced in partnership with Phoenix Chain as part of an effort to make Footprint's indexed data accessible via AI-native tooling rather than just dashboards or SQL.
Target Users
Footprint positions its offerings across three primary audiences. Protocol developers and DeFi teams use it for operational dashboards tracking TVL, user growth, and wallet behavior. Game developers and GameFi projects use the GameFi-specific datasets and dashboards to track in-game economies and player retention. Research teams, media, and analysts use the zero-code tooling to build and publish on-chain analysis without engineering support.
Solana Coverage
Solana is one of Footprint's supported chains. The platform's ETL infrastructure covers Solana program events alongside EVM chains, allowing DeFi protocols and applications on Solana to appear in cross-chain comparisons and Solana-specific dashboards. The depth of Solana-specific indexing relative to Footprint's primary EVM coverage is not separately detailed in public documentation.
Team
Footprint Analytics was founded in June 2021. The founding team includes Navy Tse (CEO), Tony Zhang (co-founder), and Wade Deng (CTO). Shelly Wang serves as Chief Marketing Officer. The company is based in Asia and maintains an active GitHub organization with 29 public repositories.
Funding and Tokens
Footprint completed an extended seed funding round in May 2022 with 15 reported investors, though specific investor names are not publicly listed in detail. No native token associated with Footprint Analytics was identified in Compass token records, and the platform's core analytics and data products do not require token purchases to access.
Competitive Position
Footprint occupies the same broad market as Dune Analytics and Flipside Crypto but differentiates on its no-code positioning and explicit multi-chain scope from launch. Its Metabase-based front end will be familiar to business intelligence users from traditional data contexts. The OmniMCP framework represents a more recent pivot toward the AI agent tooling market, positioning Footprint's indexed data as a backend for LLM-driven on-chain queries rather than human-operated dashboards alone.
