Coinhall

Coinhall is an interchain trading terminal and DEX aggregator that combines real-time price charting, liquidity pool analytics, and best-execution token swaps across the Cosmos ecosystem. Launched in January 2021, the platform built itself into the leading aggregation layer for Cosmos-based decentralized exchanges before being acquired by [[PROJECT:219]] in September 2024. It continues to operate as an independent brand under the Jupiter umbrella, focused on Cosmos chains and a planned expansion into EVM networks.

Hallswap: The Aggregation Engine

The core of Coinhall's trading functionality is Hallswap, a DEX aggregation protocol that automatically routes swap orders through the deepest available liquidity sources across all integrated exchanges. Rather than requiring users to check each DEX individually, Hallswap evaluates available pools in real time and executes trades using two key mechanisms:

Multi-hopping routes a swap through one or more intermediate token pairs to reach the target asset when no direct trading pair exists. Multi-splitting breaks a single swap into several smaller trades executed simultaneously across different liquidity pools, reducing price impact on larger orders.

Hallswap's pool coverage is dynamic: any pair listed on a supported DEX is automatically accessible without manual integration, as the protocol continuously indexes new pools as they are created. By the time of its acquisition in 2024, Hallswap had processed more than $2.4 billion in cumulative transaction volume across its supported chains.

Analytics and Market Data

Beyond trade execution, Coinhall functions as a full trading terminal with a suite of market data tools:

  • Real-time price charts powered by TradingView, giving traders access to professional-grade charting and technical analysis tooling directly in the interface
  • Markets dashboard surfacing per-pair metrics including market capitalization, 24-hour volume, fee rates, and annual percentage rates from liquidity pool positions
  • Watchlists for tracking selected trading pairs
  • Telegram price alerts that notify users when a tracked pair reaches a target price
  • Transaction history view that filters on-chain buy and sell orders by wallet address, useful for tracking specific holders or market makers
  • Telegram bot extending the terminal to mobile, supporting commands for real-time prices (/p), charts (/c), and multi-asset price queries (/mp)

Coinhall also offered commercial data services on top of the same infrastructure: promoted pool placements for token projects and custom buy-notification bots for community Telegram channels, giving it a direct revenue model tied to project discoverability.

Chain and DEX Coverage

At peak, Coinhall supported 13 Cosmos ecosystem chains — including Injective, Sei, Archway, Oraichain, Neutron, Terra, Migaloo, and Chihuahua — with integrations across 25 decentralized exchanges. The platform had also built a Solana integration and was working toward EVM chain support, positioning itself under the tagline "The Omnichain Trading Terminal."

By September 2024, Coinhall had accumulated over 225,000 users across 23 chains.

Developer Tooling

Coinhall built and open-sourced CosmES, a lightweight JavaScript library for developers building on Cosmos chains. CosmES is a tree-shakeable alternative to CosmJS — the dominant Cosmos SDK JavaScript toolkit — designed to produce roughly ten times smaller bundle sizes while maintaining functional compatibility. The library reflects the team's positioning as infrastructure contributors to the broader Cosmos interchain stack, not purely a consumer application.

Validator Operations

Alongside the trading terminal, the Coinhall team operated as community validators across Cosmos ecosystem chains. This gave the team direct familiarity with chain-level governance and network mechanics, informing the technical depth of the platform's analytics and pool data.

Acquisition by Jupiter Exchange

On September 20, 2024, [[PROJECT:219]] co-founder Siong Ong announced at the Solana Breakpoint conference in Singapore that Jupiter had acquired Coinhall. At the time, Coinhall was described as the number-one DEX aggregator on Cosmos. The deal was announced alongside Jupiter's simultaneous acquisition of SolanaFM and the launch of several new products including Jupiter Mobile and Ape.Pro.

Jupiter framed the acquisition as a bridge between the Solana and Cosmos ecosystems, citing Coinhall's aggregation infrastructure, real-time data pipeline, and cross-chain expertise as strategic assets for building a more comprehensive omnichain trading platform.

Post-Acquisition Transition

Following the acquisition, Coinhall stated it would continue operating as a platform and brand under the Jupiter umbrella, focusing primarily on the Cosmos and upcoming EVM ecosystems while consolidating its Solana integrations into Jupiter's native products. This means:

  • Coinhall's Solana integration is being deprecated, with active Solana users migrating to Jupiter
  • Chains with low trading activity are being removed to streamline operations
  • Previously announced plans for the $HALL governance token and the proposed Hallchain Layer 1 blockchain (an EVM- and CosmWasm-compatible chain built on the Cosmos SDK) have been discontinued through the consolidation

Coinhall remains live at coinhall.org as a functional trading terminal for Cosmos ecosystem traders, with the longer-term roadmap now tied to Jupiter's broader omnichain expansion strategy.
