Brale Stablecoin Issuance API
Brale Stablecoin Issuance API enables programmatic minting and redemption of regulated stablecoins across multiple blockchains, supporting USD and USDC funding with automated compliance and treasury management.
Brale
TLDR: Brale is a regulated US company that runs the infrastructure behind stablecoins. Businesses use it to launch their own fiat-backed tokens, or to hold and move existing ones, on Solana and more than 25 other blockchains, all through one API.
What Brale does
Launching a stablecoin normally means building a bank relationship, a compliance program, money transmitter licensing, custody, and smart-contract deployments on every chain you want to support. Brale sells all of that as shared infrastructure. The company describes its platform as "one regulated system for stablecoin issuance, custody, payments, and compliance."
Founder and CEO Ben Milne told the Stellar Development Foundation that Brale spent its first two and a half years getting licensed and building its own signing, issuance and custody systems before it sold to anyone. His claim is that this cut the cost of issuing a stablecoin from roughly 100 million dollars to about a dollar, done in a minute. Brale is based in Des Moines, Iowa.
How it works
Brale's products break down into five areas, according to its website:
- Issuance: businesses launch branded stablecoins, and Brale holds the reserves in segregated accounts. Its site pitches program economics based on balances held across a customer's product.
- Custody: Brale-managed wallets with permissions and admin controls. In September 2026 Brale added individual custodial accounts, so platforms can onboard individual users as well as businesses.
- Movement: one API that moves dollars over ACH, wire and RTP, and moves stablecoins across chains.
- Redemption and payouts: tokens can be redeemed back to fiat, with payout workflows built in.
- Compliance and controls: approvals, exception handling, reporting and reconciliation.
The Stablecoin Issuance API launched in beta in November 2023. Developers send mint and redeem requests to endpoints tied to a "deployment ID," which identifies one stablecoin on one chain. Mints and redemptions settle in USD or USDC. Solana was one of the eight chains supported at launch, along with Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche, Celo, Base, Optimism and Stellar.
In December 2025 Brale released Automations. Each Automation is a virtual bank account with its own account and routing numbers. When a customer sends dollars to it by ACH or wire, the matching stablecoin is minted to a set wallet automatically and a transfer record is created for accounting. At launch Brale charged 0.25 dollars per Automation per month and nothing on onramp volume. It supported more than 50 stablecoins, including USDC and tokens issued through Brale, across more than 20 blockchains. Brale lists cross-border remittances, funding stablecoin card programs, and marketplace payouts as the main uses.
Brale doesn't only handle its own tokens. In the Stellar interview, Milne said Brale added support for stablecoins from other issuers, including Circle and Paxos, because a customer asked for it, and that the change "totally changed the business." Brale's X account also promotes stablecoin swaps between different assets as part of what it calls "stablecoin orchestration."
Stablecoins on Solana
Brale's own SBC (Brale Stable Coin) was live on Solana when the issuance API launched. The Glo Dollar (USDGLO) was also issued through Brale, but at that time it was only on Ethereum and Polygon.
The best-known Solana token that Brale issues is MXNe, a stablecoin backed by the Mexican peso. It launched in May 2024 on Solana and Stellar with [[PROJECT:312]] (Etherfuse). The launch announcement called it the first peso-backed stablecoin on either chain. It is redeemable 1:1 for pesos and aimed at on-chain payments, remittances and payroll. Etherfuse CEO Dave Taylor said Brale "was able to support new assets, contracts, and implementations in record time."
ION Protocol
On July 29, 2026, Brale announced ION Protocol in alpha at Chicago Stablecoin Day. ION is meant to fix a problem that grows with the number of stablecoins: swapping between many tokens on many chains usually needs liquidity pools or bridges for every pair. Under ION, a token is burned on the source chain and minted on the destination chain at 1:1, "with no intermediary capital at risk." Every pair-specific pool is replaced by one adapter per deployment plus a single anchor pool of 200 million dollars, which Brale says stays the same size however far the system scales.
Brale named 20 launch partners, including Solana, [[PROJECT:662]] (Coinflow), Etherfuse, Base, Canton, Monad, Rain, Turnkey and investors NEA and Lightspeed. The announcement said the alpha would start on an initial set of chains, with more added over time, but did not list which ones. At launch, testnet access was available on request.
Regulation and security
Brale says it is a registered money services business operating in 45 US jurisdictions and holds SOC 2 Type II certification. According to its website, reserves sit in segregated accounts, are reconciled daily, and are attested monthly by an independent CPA. In mid-2026 Brale added passkey login for customers and mutual TLS as an optional API security control.
Customers and scale
Brale's website says more than 100 stablecoin programs are live on the platform and that it processes billions of dollars in volume a year. It does not publish an exact figure. Named customers include Coinflow, Canton Network, Rain, SquareFi and Lightspark. In an August 2026 case study, Lightspark said it saved four months of development by building its Grid Global Accounts on Turnkey wallets and Brale's stablecoin rails.
In September 2026 the tx ecosystem announced USTX, a stablecoin for tokenized stocks and ETFs on tx chain, due to launch in October. It will be fully backed 1:1 and issued by Brale.
Funding and team
Brale raised 11.1 million dollars in a round led by New Enterprise Associates, announced in February 2023. Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince and Union Square Ventures' Albert Wenger also invested. In September 2025 it raised 30 million dollars in a round led by Lightspeed, with NEA, Refract and Foundation Capital joining. Brale said the money would go to R&D, global regulatory work, and expanding incubation and M&A at its parent company, Brale Holdings.
Brale also runs Day Zero, a recurring virtual demo event for stablecoin builders, and co-hosted the first Chicago Stablecoin Day in July 2026.
Where it fits on Solana
Brale isn't a DeFi app. It is issuer-side infrastructure that fintechs, payment companies and token projects build on. On Solana, that makes it a regulated way to put branded or non-dollar stablecoins such as MXNe on the network, and to connect them to US bank rails through its API and virtual accounts.
