AmmerPay
Merchant payment gateway providing cryptocurrency acceptance through multiple integration methods including point-of-sale terminals, e-commerce plugins for WooCommerce and Wix, invoice generation, and API access. The platform converts crypto payments to CHF or EUR fiat currency with two-day settlement to merchant bank accounts.
AmmerPay
AmmerPay is a cryptocurrency payment processor based in Baar, Switzerland, operated by Ammer Group AG, a fintech company founded by Victor Ammer. Part of Switzerland's Crypto Valley cluster, the platform helps businesses accept digital assets with fiat settlement, targeting the gap between crypto holders who want to spend and merchants who want to avoid currency exposure.
Core Payment Channels
AmmerPay offers three distinct acceptance channels. The Point of Sale product provides software and hardware terminal solutions for brick-and-mortar retailers, including inventory management tools integrated into the merchant dashboard. The invoicing module lets businesses generate payment requests in their local currency, with customers settling in cryptocurrency. The e-commerce layer ships as plugins for Wix and WooCommerce, extending crypto acceptance to online stores without custom development.
All three channels settle to the merchant's bank account in Swiss francs or euros within two business days, eliminating the currency risk that typically deters traditional businesses from accepting crypto directly. The processing fee is 1% per transaction.
Supported Assets and Solana Integration
AmmerPay supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, and stablecoins including USDT and USDC. Solana (SOL) was added in a subsequent integration that extended SOL acceptance across all three channels. The company described the move as reflecting a commitment to providing merchants with access to a diverse range of popular cryptocurrencies, catering to evolving consumer preferences.
Wallee Partnership
In November 2024, Ammer Group AG and Wallee Group AG announced a technical integration enabling the Ammer Pay app to run natively on Wallee's Android-based payment terminals, including the PAX A77 and PAX A920Pro models. Merchants download the app through the Wallee portal and link it to a free Ammer Pay account. Customers pay by scanning a QR code or tapping a crypto wallet via NFC. Fiat conversion happens automatically at settlement with no extra accounting burden for the merchant.
Victor Ammer, Founder and Chairman of Ammer Group AG, described the integration as an important milestone in the acceptance of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment in Switzerland. Sascha Kruesi, CXO of Wallee Group AG, noted the solution shifts cryptocurrency from a speculative object to a real means of payment.
Ammer Ecosystem
AmmerPay sits alongside two companion products within the Ammer Group umbrella. Ammer Wallet is a non-custodial mobile wallet for iOS and Android that stores cryptocurrency and NFTs, supports multiple blockchains, and connects to the Ammer Pay network for bill payments including rent, insurance, and taxes, currently available in Switzerland. Keys are protected by the device's trusted platform module (TPM), accessed via PIN, fingerprint, or face recognition; private keys never leave the device.
Ammer Card is a hardware wallet in standard credit card form with an NFC chip and CC EAL6+ certified secure element. The card generates and stores cryptographic keys on-device, activates through the Ammer Wallet app, and enables contactless payments at any AmmerPay-enabled merchant terminal. The card is dust- and waterproof and is free to the end user.
The three products form an end-to-end crypto payments stack: AmmerPay for merchant acceptance, Ammer Wallet for consumer custody, and Ammer Card for contactless spending.
Geographic Focus
AmmerPay's current operational emphasis is Switzerland, where it markets to businesses seeking to attract crypto-holding customers and where the Wallee terminal network is established. The company's Baar headquarters place it within a Swiss regulatory environment that has developed specific frameworks for crypto businesses. Fiat settlement currently supports CHF and EUR, reflecting a primary focus on Swiss and broader European merchant markets.
The blog covers Swiss crypto business adoption trends and how-to guides for Swiss merchants, alongside broader content on stablecoin selection and global regulatory environments. Ammer Wallet's bill-payment feature -- paying utilities, taxes, and fines in crypto -- is Switzerland-only for now, reflecting the company's depth of integration with local payment infrastructure before broader geographic expansion.
