AiMo API Platform

AiMo API Platform provides a unified OpenAI-compatible API for accessing decentralized AI models with X402 protocol-based cryptocurrency payments. The platform enables users to pay for AI inference on-demand using USDC on Base or Solana networks without requiring pre-funded accounts or traditional API keys. The system supports standard chat completion endpoints with automatic payment verification and on-chain transaction settlement.

AiMo Network

[[PROJECT:1973]] is a permissionless AI infrastructure project on Solana that removes the account requirements, KYC checks, and geographic restrictions that gate access to large language models, making AI inference available to any wallet (human or autonomous agent) on a per-request basis.

How AiMo Routes AI Inference Requests

AiMo operates across two interconnected products: a routing layer for on-demand model access and an open-source agent framework for edge devices.

The AiMo Router is an OpenAI-compatible API gateway that aggregates hundreds of AI models from multiple providers under a single endpoint. Rather than requiring a subscription or identity verification, callers pay per request using [[TOKEN:EPjFWdd5AufqSSqeM2qN1xzybapC8G4wEGGkZwyTDt1v]] on Solana or Base via the x402 protocol, an open payment standard built on the dormant HTTP 402 "Payment Required" status code that enables machine-to-machine payments without traditional financial intermediaries. Revenue settles on-chain in real time to provider wallets, bypassing the monthly billing cycles typical of cloud AI services.

The routing architecture is currently single-node but is designed to evolve into a distributed "API oracle" across chains, where services become discoverable, callable, and payable endpoints. A planned asset layer will represent those services as ERC-8004 NFT components, composable building blocks that agents or developers can combine into automated workflows.

Amico is AiMo's second track: an open-source, event-driven AI agent framework licensed under MIT/Apache-2.0 and optimized for edge devices. Unlike mainstream agent SDKs that assume cloud infrastructure, Amico targets wearables, robotics, and embedded hardware. It provides peer-to-peer networking through decentralized messaging, a local-first verifiable memory layer with on-chain verification via vector embeddings, and Agent DID integration that links each agent instance to a non-fungible token on a blockchain. The framework integrates with [[PROJECT:808]] through a published plugin, allowing ElizaOS agents to route model calls through AiMo's permissionless gateway.

Permissionless Access, x402 USDC Payments, and AiMo Agent NFTs

  • Any wallet can call the API without creating an account, providing identity, or passing geographic compliance checks. AiMo frames this as turning AI access into a vending machine: pay, receive, exit.
  • Payments settle in USDC on Solana using the x402 standard, which does not introduce a proprietary settlement token and routes through existing stablecoins.
  • The gateway is built for autonomous agents as much as human users. Agents can fund their own inference, discover models by capability, and pay without human intervention.
  • Through the Nosana Grants Program, AiMo routes image and video generation workloads to [[PROJECT:251]]'s permissionless GPU marketplace, avoiding dependence on centralized cloud providers for inference.
  • The AiMo Agent NFT (Genesis Collection) gives users ownership of personalized AI companion agents. Minting one instantiates an autonomous agent owned entirely by the user through the Amico framework, with the agent's state and identity anchored on-chain via Agent DID. Supply and pricing details are to be announced closer to the minting date.

AiMo App Open Beta: Rebates and Referral Rewards

AiMo launched an open beta featuring the AiMo App, a privacy-focused AI chat application built on the router. During the beta period, callers receive a 20% rebate on inference costs (15% credited as points toward future rewards and 5% settled weekly in USDC), alongside referral rewards and tiered incentive programs.

Nosana, ASI:Accelerator, and ElizaOS Integration

AiMo's settlement layer relies on Solana's low transaction costs, which make per-request micropayments viable at the per-inference scale a routing gateway requires.

AiMo joined the ASI:Accelerator as its first official participant. Through the accelerator, the project gains access to ASI:Cloud for permissionless GPU compute and scalable inference via wallet-based access, consistent with its no-KYC approach applied to the compute layer.

The ElizaOS plugin gives the project a foothold in one of the larger open-source AI agent ecosystems, letting developers add AiMo as a model provider without building bespoke payment logic. AiMo also participated in the Colosseum hackathon community, placing it within Solana's builder ecosystem from its earliest stages.

Founded January 2025: AIMOverse Open-Source Development

AiMo Network was founded in January 2025. The team has not publicly named individual founders or executives; communications are attributed to "AiMo Network" collectively. The Amico framework is maintained under the AIMOverse GitHub organization, which also hosts the ElizaOS plugin and other open-source tooling.

USDC Settlement and AiMo Agent NFT: On-Chain Assets

AiMo does not operate a protocol token for settlement; the x402 payment layer uses USDC. The AiMo Agent NFT series is the primary on-chain asset, with the Genesis Collection details pending. Future plans include ERC-8004-based service NFTs in the asset layer, though this remains a roadmap item.

Security Status: Single-Node Router, No Public Audit

No third-party security audits of the AiMo Router or Amico framework have been publicly disclosed. The project is in open beta, and the routing layer operates as a single-node system in its current iteration, which concentrates availability and trust risk until the planned distributed oracle architecture is built out.
