Aethir
Aethir is a Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) that aggregates enterprise-grade GPU compute from data centers and hardware providers worldwide into a single, globally distributed cloud marketplace. The platform gives AI companies, cloud gaming developers, and other compute-intensive businesses on-demand access to high-performance graphics processing at lower cost and with less geographic lock-in than centralized hyperscalers.
The Problem It Solves
GPU compute is scarce, expensive, and concentrated among a handful of cloud providers. This "GPU rich versus GPU poor" dynamic means early-stage AI companies and gaming studios either pay premium pricing to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, or they go without. Aethir addresses this by pulling in underutilized GPU capacity from enterprise data centers globally and aggregating it into a marketplace where buyers gain competitive pricing while sellers monetize hardware that would otherwise sit idle.
Core Mechanism
The network operates through three coordinated participant roles:
Containers — including Aethir Edge consumer hardware — handle actual compute execution. They represent the supply side: enterprise-grade data center racks and individual edge devices contributing GPU capacity to the pool.
Checker Nodes independently verify that each Container delivers the performance and uptime it claims. More than 91,000 Checker Nodes were active on the network as of late 2025. Their function is analogous to validators in proof-of-stake blockchains — they audit supply-side providers continuously so buyers receive a standardized quality guarantee regardless of which physical hardware their workload lands on.
Indexers serve as a matchmaking layer, routing incoming workload requests to the most suitable available Containers based on latency requirements, GPU model, and geographic proximity.
This architecture means supply-side performance is verified by an independent decentralized layer rather than relying on self-reporting, and enterprise clients can access globally distributed compute through a single abstraction.

Aethir Earth is a bare-metal GPU cloud aimed at AI model training, fine-tuning, and real-time inference. It runs on enterprise NVIDIA hardware including H100s, H200s, B200s, and B300s sourced from providers across 94 countries.
Aethir Atmosphere targets low-latency GPU delivery for cloud gaming, both mobile and PC streaming, where millisecond-level latency determines product quality.
Aethir Edge, introduced in 2024, extended the supply side to individual consumers, allowing home users to operate lightweight GPU nodes and earn ATH rewards while improving the network's geographic distribution.
Aethir Claw, launched in 2026, is an AI agent infrastructure platform that allows developers to spin up autonomous agent workforces with crypto-native payments in USDC or USDT, on-chain monitoring, and isolated virtual compute environments. It targets AI-native startups that run agent workforces in place of traditional staff, with no CapEx, no egress fees, and no hyperscaler lock-in.
The ATH Token
ATH is the native token of the Aethir network and plays multiple roles simultaneously. Compute services can be purchased with ATH credits. Checker Node operators stake ATH to participate in verification and earn daily rewards for their validation work. Cloud Hosts — the GPU providers — receive ATH for contributing hardware capacity. ATH also participates in governance decisions for protocol upgrades.
A $100M ecosystem fund denominated in ATH is dedicated to supporting AI and real-world asset (RWA) projects building on or integrating with Aethir infrastructure, with 50+ projects onboarded through grants and compute subsidies by end of 2025.
For DeFi users, ATH can be staked through the EigenLayer ATH Vault to mint eATH tokens, which participate in restaking rewards while supporting enterprise compute expansion. A Pendle Finance eATH pool enables additional yield strategies for holders who want to put their compute collateral to work.
Scale and Traction
By the end of 2025, Aethir had delivered more than 1.5 billion compute hours to enterprise clients. The network ran across 440,000+ GPU containers in more than 200 locations spanning 94 countries. Full-year 2025 revenue reached $127.8M, with annualized run rate hitting $166M by Q3 2025. The network serves 150+ partners and customers including Kluster.ai, Inferium, OpenLedger, Raiinmaker, and Respeecher across LLM inference, data annotation, DeFAI applications, and media production.
Aethir's AI Unbundled Alliance brought together 21 industry participants including Chainlink, 0G Labs, Biconomy, and ChainGPT. The Avalanche Foundation included Aethir in its infraBUIDL(AI) collaboration program, and GAIB conducted a GPU tokenization pilot with Aethir on BNB Chain.
Team and History
Aethir was founded in 2022 by Daniel Wang and Mark Rydon, both with backgrounds in cloud gaming and enterprise infrastructure rather than pure crypto. The founding team prioritized operational expertise, reflecting the project's positioning as an infrastructure business rather than a DeFi protocol. Early investors included Framework Ventures, Hashkey Capital, and Animoca Brands. The ATH token generation event (TGE) took place in 2024. By 2025, the project reported 800+ active community Tribe members who collectively produced more than 5,000 content pieces supporting ecosystem awareness.
Security
Aethir's primary security model relies on the decentralized Checker Node layer to continuously validate Container performance and detect fraudulent reporting. Buyers can verify their own workload results against on-chain records. Specific third-party smart contract audit reports have not been separately itemized in primary documentation reviewed.
Solana Ecosystem Fit
Aethir has bridged the ATH token to the Solana blockchain, extending DeFi and trading reach to Solana-native users. The team has also pursued integration with the Solana ecosystem for AI agent development use cases, with Aethir Claw supporting Solana on-chain monitoring and DeFi position tracking — including health factor checks across major lending protocols — as part of its crypto-native agent workflow capabilities. While Aethir's physical infrastructure layer is chain-agnostic, Solana serves as one of the key token distribution and developer engagement channels for the project.
