Aethir

Aethir is a decentralized GPU cloud infrastructure network that connects enterprise-grade GPU hardware with AI developers, cloud gaming operators, and other compute-intensive workloads. Founded in 2021, it operates under a DePIN (decentralized physical infrastructure network) model: independent hardware owners contribute GPU capacity to a shared pool, clients purchase compute time from that pool, and the [[TOKEN:Dm5BxyMetG3Aq5PaG1BrG7rBYqEMtnkjvPNMExfacVk7]] token coordinates payments, staking, and verification across all parties.

Two Product Lines: Earth and Atmosphere

Aethir's network is organized around two distinct compute products. Aethir Earth provides bare metal GPU access aimed at AI training and inference workloads, running on hardware including NVIDIA H100, H200, B200, and B300 units. The bare metal delivery model is designed to reduce virtualization overhead relative to conventional cloud offerings. Aethir Atmosphere targets cloud gaming, providing low-latency GPU rendering capacity to game publishers and platforms that need edge-proximate compute rather than centralized data center delivery.

As of the end of 2025, Aethir reported a network of 440,000+ GPU containers across 94 countries and more than 200 locations, including over 63,000 Aethir Edge cloud computing devices.

Three-Tier Node Architecture

The network operates through three node roles. Containers are where compute is actually performed — these are the GPU-equipped machines contributed by hardware providers. Checkers are verification nodes that monitor Container performance and attest to whether contracted compute was delivered correctly. Indexers match incoming client requests to available Containers based on requirements such as GPU type, geographic region, and latency targets.

This separation of compute, verification, and routing is meant to prevent providers from gaming utilization metrics: a Container cannot self-certify its own uptime or output quality. Checker node operators stake ATH as collateral and earn rewards for maintaining the integrity of performance reporting.

ATH Token and Solana Integration

ATH is the network's coordination token, used to pay for compute, stake verification roles, reward infrastructure operators, and vote on governance proposals. The token launched on Ethereum and Arbitrum; on February 12, 2025, Aethir extended it to the Solana blockchain via [[PROJECT:701]] and Stargate's omnichain bridge technology. The Solana-native token address is Dm5BxyMetG3Aq5PaG1BrG7rBYqEMtnkjvPNMExfacVk7.

The Solana expansion targets developers building AI agents on Solana, including projects in the elizaOS and ai16z ecosystems, who need GPU compute resources and can now purchase capacity directly using ATH on Solana. It also reduces friction for Solana-native developer teams that would otherwise need to bridge assets across networks to access Aethir's GPU market.

In May 2025, Aethir launched an EigenLayer ATH Vault allowing token holders to stake ATH and mint eATH, providing additional yield pathways for long-term holders. The vault became EigenLayer's largest staking pool by assets shortly after launch.

Revenue and Financial Performance

Aethir generated over $127.8 million in revenue during the 2025 calendar year, reaching a $166 million annualized run rate by the end of Q3 2025, according to the project's 2025 wrap-up report. The network delivered more than 1.5 billion compute hours to clients over that period. The project reported that its revenue-to-market-cap ratio over the trailing twelve months outpaced comparable compute DePIN networks including Filecoin, Render, and Bittensor on the same metric.

The client base of 150+ organizations spans AI developers, Web3 infrastructure teams, and cloud gaming publishers. A $100 million Ecosystem Fund, announced in 2024, has since been deployed across more than 50 partner projects to grow the demand side of the network.

ACCELERATE: Physical Data Center Expansion

In August 2026, Aethir announced its largest direct infrastructure commitment to date: the ACCELERATE program, which targets up to $2 billion in total contract value by developing proprietary AI data center capacity across the United States and Europe. The program has secured access to 10 initial sites totaling up to 20 megawatts of capacity, optimized for NVIDIA B300 and GB300 clusters of 64 to 256 nodes per deployment.

The strategic rationale is straightforward: up to half of planned AI data center capacity for 2026 faces delivery delays across the industry, and mid-sized facilities can be built and energized in months rather than years. Aethir projects up to $700 million in contracts from the initial 10 sites by end of 2026, with the full $2 billion figure representing the potential pipeline as sites reach operational capacity.

ACCELERATE marks a shift from Aethir's earlier model of aggregating GPU capacity from third-party providers toward owning and operating physical infrastructure directly.

Aethir Claw: AI Agent Compute

In March 2026, Aethir launched Aethir Claw, an AI agent compute product offering isolated virtual private servers with crypto payment support, designed to lower the barrier for teams deploying AI agents at scale. Claw targets AI development teams that need isolated, reproducible compute environments without the complexity of self-hosting GPU infrastructure.

Ecosystem and Partnerships

Aethir's AI Unbundled Alliance, formed in 2025, brought together 21 industry organizations around shared standards for decentralized compute. Notable partnerships include Pendle for DeFi yield products tied to ATH, the Avalanche Foundation, GAIB, Plume Network, and Arizona State University for AI and blockchain education programs. The Checker Node buyback program, introduced in 2025, allowed existing node holders to unlock liquidity by converting node licenses into eATH positions.

The Aethir Tribe community program had more than 800 active members producing content and ecosystem advocacy by year-end 2025, with a stated target of scaling to 2,000 members through 2026.
