Mirae Asset Securities (HK) Limited, the Hong Kong arm of South Korea's Mirae Asset Financial Group, has completed a tokenized funding note issuance on Solana for eligible institutional investors. In a press release dated 28 October 2026, Mirae said the notes are US dollar-denominated six-month floating rate notes issued under its US$3 billion Guaranteed Structured Note Programme, with Singapore-regulated Marketnode as authorised distributor and the Solana Foundation supporting the deal. The US$3 billion is the ceiling of the whole programme. Mirae did not disclose the size of this issue.

What Mirae Asset Securities issued on Solana

A funding note is short-term debt that a financial firm sells to raise money, and a floating rate note pays interest that resets with a benchmark rate. Mirae's release does not name the benchmark or the coupon. It says Mirae Asset Securities ran token issuance, payments and lifecycle management (the interest payments and final redemption) itself, on its own in-house tokenisation infrastructure.

The notes went only to "eligible professional investors (as defined in Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Ordinance)", so this is a private placement that retail investors cannot buy. The release also leaves out the token standard, the custody setup, the number of investors and a token address.

Korean outlet Digital Today, citing a Mirae Asset Securities statement, reported the same six-month dollar floating rate issuance on 28 October 2026. Its figures for the deal's size and the chains used go beyond the release and could not be confirmed, so they are not repeated here.

Marketnode's role in tokenized note distribution

Marketnode runs digital market infrastructure in Asia-Pacific and is backed by Euroclear, HSBC, SGX Group and Temasek. Its Gateway product handles issuance, distribution and servicing for tokenized real-world assets, and the company lists Solana among the networks it works with.

Mirae Asset Securities already builds structured notes, and the release puts the weight of this deal on distribution. According to the release, the Solana issue shows how the programme "can extend into on-chain distribution", with Marketnode bringing the notes to institutional buyers. Andrew Scott, Head of Digital Assets at Marketnode, said in the release that "the next stage of tokenisation is about distribution," adding that "the opportunity is to connect those products with new institutional investors and new channels." Kelly Sohn, Head of Digital Assets at Mirae Asset Securities, called the move "a natural progression of our strategic focus on digital assets."

A day earlier, on 27 October 2026, Mirae Asset Securities (HK) and the trading platform Grvt announced a separate tokenized funding note issuance under a Mirae affiliate's structured notes programme, with Grvt as subscriber. That Chainwire release did not name a blockchain.

Solana Foundation and the Asia-Pacific tokenization push

Lu Yin, Head of APAC at the Solana Foundation, said in the release that a public blockchain matters to capital markets once it can carry the products and workflows institutions already use, and that the Foundation is "proud to support this transaction and demonstrate how Solana can connect established financial markets with a growing digitally native ecosystem."

The Mirae issue lands a week after the asset management arm of JPMorgan Chase brought its MONY and JLTXX tokenized money market funds to Solana for qualified US investors. It also adds to a run of Hong Kong activity around the network: the Pando Solana ETF began trading on HKEX on 13 October 2026, and Solana Company (HSDT) was named a Hong Kong strategic enterprise on 22 October 2026 with plans for validators in the city.

The Mirae notes are a different product from a fund token: a broker's own debt, sold to professional investors through a distributor, with the issuer handling payments and redemption itself. Mirae said the deal "provides a scalable model" that it can extend "to a broader range of structured products over time." The size of this Solana issue, and the timing of any further ones, have not been disclosed.
