WhiteBIT
WhiteBIT is a centralized cryptocurrency exchange founded in November 2018 by Volodymyr Nosov. Originally based in Ukraine, the exchange relocated its headquarters to Vilnius, Lithuania, following Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022. It now operates under W Group, a fintech holding company with eight constituent businesses employing approximately 1,300 professionals across nine offices spanning Lithuania, Spain, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Australia, Georgia, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom. WhiteBIT describes itself as the largest European cryptocurrency exchange by web traffic, and third-party rankings have placed it among the top ten global centralized exchanges by volume.
The exchange serves more than eight million registered users in 150 countries. In 2024, the platform processed $2.7 trillion in annual trading volume, representing roughly 200% year-over-year growth. W Group's total reported capitalization stands at $38.9 billion.
Trading Platform
WhiteBIT offers a full-service trading environment covering spot, margin, and derivatives markets. The spot market lists over 750 trading pairs across more than 360 cryptocurrencies, with eight fiat currencies supported for deposits and withdrawals: EUR, USD, GBP, TRY, UAH, PLN, KZT, and CZK. Default spot trading fees are 0.10% for both maker and taker orders.
Futures trading covers more than 270 perpetual pairs with leverage up to 100x. Margin trading is available at up to 10x leverage. In 2026, WhiteBIT expanded its derivatives offering to include TradFi perpetual pairs, enabling users to trade instruments tracking the price of traditional financial assets — including gold, silver, WTI oil, equity indices (S&P 500 ETF, Nasdaq ETF), and individual stocks (Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, Microsoft, Meta, Alphabet, and Amazon) — without taking ownership of the underlying assets. These perpetual contracts are settled in crypto.
For users seeking yield, WhiteBIT provides crypto lending plans with advertised rates reaching up to 19.40% APR in USDT on long-term plans of up to 1,080 days. Crypto borrowing against collateral is also available. Additional product verticals include an auto-invest feature for scheduled recurring purchases, pre-configured crypto Bundles (diversified baskets such as Crypto Core, AI Supercycle, RWA, and MEME Culture with a minimum 50 USDT investment), a Convert function for instant swaps, a P2P exchange, and an internal transfer mechanism called WB Codes that allows fee-free transfers between WhiteBIT users.
Native Token: WBT
WhiteBIT Coin (WBT) launched in August 2022 with a hard cap of 400 million tokens. The token serves as the primary utility layer of the WhiteBIT ecosystem. Holders receive tiered discounts on trading fees — up to 100% off maker fees at the highest VIP tiers — free daily withdrawals on select networks, preferential lending rates, and access to the exchange's Launchpad for token offerings. WBT is also the gas token on Whitechain, WhiteBIT's own EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain launched in August 2023.
A deflationary mechanism uses 33% of WhiteBIT's trading fee revenue and 5% of other exchange income to conduct weekly WBT buybacks and burns. SoulDrop, a revenue-sharing program, distributes proportional Whitechain transaction fee income to WBT holders.
WBT reached an all-time high of $65.30 in November 2025. S&P Dow Jones Indices includes WBT in five of its cryptocurrency indices, and in March 2026 the token was listed on Kraken for WBT/EUR and WBT/USD pairs.
Security and Compliance
WhiteBIT holds an extensive stack of third-party security certifications. In December 2024, it became the first cryptocurrency exchange to achieve CCSS (Cryptocurrency Security Standard) Level 3 certification, the highest tier of the standard developed by the Cryptocurrency Certification Consortium (C4). The platform also holds PCI DSS Level 1 certification and ISO/IEC 27001 and 27701 certifications. On CER.live, an independent exchange security rating platform, WhiteBIT maintains a perfect score of 100/100 and ranks among the top three most secure exchanges globally.
The exchange holds 96% of user assets in multi-signature cold wallets and maintains a $30 million insurance fund. A November 2024 proof-of-reserves audit conducted by Hacken reported a total collateral ratio of 238%, with individual asset coverage including Bitcoin at 507%, Ethereum at 269%, SOL at 101%, and USDT at 108%.
On the regulatory side, WhiteBIT holds VASP registrations across more than a dozen jurisdictions including Spain, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Italy, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Georgia, Croatia, and Australia. In June 2026, WB-Shield Innovations GmbH (operating as WhiteBIT EU) received full authorization under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) from Austria's Financial Market Authority, enabling the exchange to passport regulated crypto services across all 30 EEA states. A sister entity, WHITE TECH, received MiCA authorization from Croatia's HANFA in April 2026. WhiteBIT launched a dedicated UK platform (whitebit.uk) in May 2026, offering spot trading and GBP funding via cards and Faster Payments Service.
WhiteBIT exited Russia and Belarus voluntarily in February 2022 following the outbreak of the full-scale war, blocking those users at an estimated cost of roughly 30% of its then-user base. In January 2026, Russia designated WhiteBIT and W Group as "undesirable organizations," citing the company's reported $11 million in direct financial contributions to Ukraine's military and $160 million facilitated through its Whitepay merchant payment service.
Ecosystem and Partnerships
The WhiteBIT Nova, a Visa-partnered crypto debit card launched in December 2024, allows users in Europe to spend six cryptocurrencies directly — Bitcoin, Ethereum, SOL, XRP, USDC, and DOGE — with cashback paid in WBT or BTC. The card supports Apple Pay and Google Pay and carries no activation or monthly fee. In its first year, it processed over $50 million in transactions.
Whitechain, WhiteBIT's Proof-of-Authority EVM-compatible Layer 1, provides two-second block finality and sub-cent transaction fees, serving as the settlement layer for WBT's SoulDrop program and enabling DeFi and NFT applications within the W Group ecosystem.
Major partnerships include a five-year agreement with FC Barcelona through 2030 as the club's Official Cryptocurrency Exchange Partner — covering the men's and women's first teams, the basketball team, and the Barça Innovation Hub — as well as a sleeve sponsorship partnership with Juventus FC. WhiteBIT also sponsors Ukraine's national football team and Turkish club FC Trabzonspor, and maintains a technology partnership with the esports platform FACEIT. In 2025, WhiteBIT signed an agreement related to participation in tokenizing Saudi Arabia's stock market infrastructure, leveraging Whitechain as the underlying blockchain.
Solana is listed for spot and futures trading on WhiteBIT. The November 2024 Hacken proof-of-reserves audit confirmed SOL reserves at 101% collateral coverage. The WhiteBIT Nova debit card includes SOL as one of its six supported spend assets.
