RWA Marketplace

A multi-chain aggregation platform enabling users to discover, trade, and fractionalize tokenized real-world assets across various categories including trade finance, real estate, treasuries, structured credit, and collectibles. The platform aggregates assets from multiple originators and protocols, providing cross-chain access and secondary liquidity for previously illiquid assets through the ERC-6960 token standard.

Polytrade

Polytrade began not on a blockchain but in a Hong Kong office in 2014, when Piyush Gupta founded Riqueza Capital Group to solve a stubborn problem: small and medium-sized businesses worldwide hold trillions of dollars in unpaid invoices and receivables, yet struggle to access affordable financing against them. By 2020, Riqueza had onboarded 5,000 sellers and financed $500 million in invoices globally. The company rebranded to Polytrade in 2021 and migrated the business onto the Polygon blockchain, turning those trade finance relationships into the foundation for a tokenized asset platform.

From Invoice Finance to RWA Aggregator

That first blockchain iteration used smart contracts to tokenize invoices, letting crypto liquidity pools fund SME working capital while insurance-backed structures protected lenders. It was a narrow but real market — and it gave Polytrade hands-on experience with the compliance, KYC, underwriting, and legal structures that most DeFi projects skip over. That operational knowledge became the architecture for what came next.

By 2023 and into 2024, Polytrade repositioned as a multi-chain RWA marketplace — an aggregator rather than a direct issuer. The logic was straightforward: dozens of protocols were tokenizing different asset classes (T-bills, credit, real estate, commodities, stocks, art, collectibles, luxury goods, IP royalties, trade finance) on different blockchains, but no single front end let investors browse, compare, and access all of them. Polytrade built that layer. The platform deployed a custom token standard — ERC-6960 — designed specifically for real-world assets, enabling fractionalization, cross-chain bridging, and programmable compliance on a single primitive. It integrated Chainlink CCIP for cross-chain interoperability and expanded from Polygon across more than eight EVM-compatible networks, including Arbitrum, Base, Plume, and Ozean.

At its peak, this marketplace strategy drove the TRADE token to an all-time high of $3.07 in April 2024, giving the project a multi-hundred-million-dollar valuation during the broader RWA narrative surge.

Platform Scale

By mid-2025, Polytrade's marketplace listed more than 7,000 individual tokenized assets from over 70 issuance partners, spanning nine asset categories. The company claimed 95 percent coverage of publicly available RWAs. Asset providers on the platform include recognized names from the tokenized finance space: Ondo Finance for T-bills and yield-bearing instruments, Centrifuge for structured credit, and Paxos for stablecoins and commodities exposure. Users can discover and invest in T-bills, real estate, private credit, tokenized stocks, commodities, art, collectibles, luxury items, and creator royalties from a single interface.

Backers include Mastercard, Polygon (the blockchain network), Alpha Wave, and Matrix Partners, reflecting both institutional interest in RWA infrastructure and the geographic reach of Polytrade's founding team across Southeast Asia and the Gulf region.

In July 2025 the company closed a strategic capital round bringing total funding to over $6 million, specifically earmarked for building real estate tokenization infrastructure: smart contract libraries, institutional APIs, compliance and onboarding rails, and secondary market liquidity tooling. Founder Gupta framed real estate as the next tokenization frontier after stablecoins and T-bills, pointing to a $400 trillion addressable market.

2025 Pivot: AI-Powered Finance Products

Polytrade's current positioning — updated in early 2025 — describes the company as "the launchpad for AI-powered finance products," a framing that builds on the five years of RWA infrastructure the team assembled. Three products define this phase:

Polytrade Finance is a live credit product targeting SMEs. Deals are verified against source documents and underwritten by AI within minutes. Senior capital is collateralized by the project's TRADE token treasury, which holds TRADE at a 2x ratio relative to deposits — an on-chain reserve structure that is verifiable on Polygonscan. This product is Polytrade's clearest throughline from the original Riqueza Capital model, now AI-accelerated.

Ledgerless is a live accounting product for UAE-based trading SMEs, offering AI-assisted invoice capture, double-entry ledger management, VAT and tax preparation, and receivables tracking. It addresses the operational layer beneath trade finance — the documentation and bookkeeping that trade-dependent businesses handle manually at significant cost.

Edge is in development. Described as an AI agent for tokenized stocks and real-world assets, it is designed for non-custodial execution with integrated research and risk management features. It positions Polytrade in the emerging space of AI-driven investment agents operating across on-chain asset markets.

Other 2025 roadmap items included a decentralized options market — a peer-to-peer platform for hedging or speculating on tokenized assets including real estate and collectibles — alongside DePIN expansions into Bitcoin mining and GPU-sharing markets.

TRADE Token

The TRADE token has a fixed supply of 100 million, which the company reports as fully circulating with no remaining unlock events, making fully diluted valuation equal to market capitalization. Token utility spans three functions: backstopping senior deposits in Polytrade Finance (treasury held at 2x collateral), receiving allocations of platform fee revenue, and qualifying holders for revenue buybacks from both the Studio and Finance business lines.

As of late August 2026, TRADE trades near $0.039 — a steep decline from the April 2024 high of $3.07, representing roughly a 99 percent drawdown from peak. Market capitalization sits around $1.6 million with approximately 15,000 token holders. The token's trajectory reflects both the broader contraction in RWA-narrative tokens after the 2024 cycle cycle peak and the challenges of sustaining speculative premium while the platform shifts toward sustainable revenue from live financial products.

Assessment

Polytrade is an active, operating business undergoing its third significant evolution in a decade — from traditional trade finance to blockchain invoice tokenization to RWA aggregation to AI-powered SME finance infrastructure. The core team has genuine domain experience in trade finance compliance and SME lending that most DeFi-native projects lack, and the backing from Mastercard and institutional VCs signals meaningful institutional validation. The marketplace aggregator thesis was real but competed in a crowded space; the AI finance pivot positions the project closer to its original operational strengths. The TRADE token's near-total loss of value from its cycle peak is the clearest risk signal, and it reflects a project still searching for the product-market fit that justifies its on-chain infrastructure ambitions. The live products — Polytrade Finance and Ledgerless — are the metrics to watch.
