About

nsave

nsave is a Swiss and UK-regulated fintech app that gives people in emerging markets access to hard-currency accounts, international transfers, and US market investments — with Solana's USDC and USDT accepted as direct funding rails.

The problem nsave was built to solve is familiar to hundreds of millions of people: living in a country with high inflation or currency controls means holding local currency erodes purchasing power, while accessing foreign bank accounts has historically required wealth, residency, or the right passport. nsave's founders, former Rhodes Scholars Amer Baroudi and Abdallah AbuHashem, designed the platform from personal experience. Baroudi's family fled Syria and watched their savings evaporate through currency devaluation and lack of access to hard-currency accounts.

Founded in 2022 and headquartered across Switzerland and the UK, nsave raised a $4 million seed round in March 2024 co-led by Sequoia Capital and TQ Ventures, with participation from Y Combinator, ACE Ventures, and SV Angel.

Accounts and Transfers

nsave users can open USD, EUR, and GBP accounts from their phones. GBP and EUR balances are held through AF Payments Limited and Frost Money Ltd, both FCA-authorized electronic money institutions in the UK. USD accounts operate through nsave SA, a Swiss-licensed fintech intermediary, and npay Inc in the US. The platform is available to professionals across 25 or more countries, with a particular focus on Bangladesh, Pakistan, Egypt, Nigeria, Turkey, and Argentina.

Account holders receive money via ACH for USD, as well as SEPA, FPS, and SWIFT for cross-border flows. Transfers between nsave users are free and instant. For sending money home, the platform supports withdrawals to local accounts in BDT, PKR, and other local currencies, as well as thousands of cash pick-up locations worldwide.

Investment Access

Beyond basic banking, nsave offers investment access through Alpaca Securities LLC, a FINRA and SEC member broker-dealer. Users can trade US stocks, ETFs, bonds, indices, commodities, and money market funds directly from the app. Silver and gold are also available. This investment layer separates nsave from remittance-only services: the goal is not just to move money but to help users build and preserve wealth denominated in hard currencies. The platform advertises up to 4.2% rewards on savings balances, subject to terms and eligibility.

Stablecoin Deposits and Solana Integration

nsave's connection to Solana runs through its stablecoin deposit rails. Users can fund their nsave USD balance by sending USDC or USDT over the Solana network directly from within the mobile app. On deposit, the stablecoins are automatically converted to USD and credited to the account, typically within minutes of Solana network confirmation. The minimum deposit is approximately $1.

The in-app deposit experience is Solana-native: the mobile app currently highlights Solana as the primary network for USDC and USDT deposits. Through the web portal, nsave extends multi-chain support to Ethereum, Polygon, Base, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, and Stellar, and accepts a broader set of stablecoins including DAI, USDP, and PYUSD. In all cases, deposits convert immediately to a USD balance — nsave does not hold, trade, or expose users to stablecoin price risk.

For users who already hold crypto — freelancers paid on-chain, participants in DeFi, or people in markets where stablecoins circulate as a practical store of value — Solana's speed and low transaction fees make it a practical on-ramp to nsave's regulated dollar account.

Compliance and Regulation

nsave operates a dynamic risk assessment process that evaluates individual applicants rather than blocking entire geographies. The platform uses proprietary transaction monitoring for anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing compliance, allowing it to serve markets that most neobanks decline while maintaining regulatory standing across its UK and Swiss license holders.

Solana Fit

nsave uses Solana as the preferred in-app stablecoin deposit network because transaction finality is fast — typically measured in seconds — and fees are negligible relative to deposit minimums. For users in markets like Bangladesh or Pakistan who receive USDC payments from international clients, a common pattern among developers and freelancers working for global platforms, Solana offers a practical, low-friction path from on-chain income to a regulated dollar account with investment access.

nsave is not a DeFi protocol, a liquid staking product, or a native Solana application. Its use of Solana is specific: the network serves as a settlement layer for stablecoin on-ramps, not as a core part of the product architecture. That positioning reflects a deliberate design choice — nsave is built to abstract blockchain complexity away from users who need hard-currency access, not to target crypto-native audiences.
