Nightly

Nightly is a non-custodial multichain wallet that gives users a single interface for managing assets across eleven or more blockchain ecosystems. Available as a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave, Opera, and Safari as well as native iOS and Android apps, Nightly is built around the premise that most crypto users will eventually need to operate on several chains simultaneously, and that switching between chain-specific wallets creates friction that discourages participation. The wallet stores private keys locally on the device, encrypted with a user-set password, with no server ever holding those keys. Alongside traditional seed phrase support, Nightly offers a social login path via Google OAuth that skips the seed phrase entirely, generating and encrypting keys in the background to lower the barrier for less technical users, while preserving the ability to export keys at any time. From its origins as a Solana wallet, Nightly has expanded to support all Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) chains alongside Ethereum and all major EVM-compatible networks, plus Sui, Aptos, NEAR Protocol, Polkadot, Bitcoin, Aleph Zero, Movement (Move VM), and Sonic. Newer SVM chains have been added quickly: Fogo public testnet went live in July 2025 with Nightly support at launch, and the Fogo mainnet followed in January 2026. This breadth is unusual. Competitors like Phantom are closely tied to Solana and Ethereum, while EVM-focused wallets have generally not invested in Solana-native features. Nightly chain-agnostic architecture means the same extension handles a Solana token swap, an Aptos NFT transfer, and a Movement DeFi position without the user switching tools. Crosschain swaps are built directly into the wallet: Nightly aggregates DEX quotes and routes swaps natively between NEAR, Solana, and EVM chains without requiring users to navigate a separate bridge interface, and adds no fee on top of network costs. For yield-seekers, in-wallet staking covers Solana, Sui, NEAR, and Aptos, with staking partners including Everstake, Lido, and Meta Pool; liquid staking on Sui and SOL-to-stSOL staking are both available without leaving the wallet. A built-in NFT gallery displays collections across all supported chains with support for Solana compressed NFT (cNFT) and programmable NFT (pNFT) standards, and users can view, transfer, and browse NFT marketplaces through the integrated dApp browser. On the security side, Nightly simulates transactions before they are signed to flag potentially malicious requests, provides biometric authentication on mobile, and supports Ledger hardware wallets for cold storage. The Auto-Confirm feature, launched in August 2025, lets users pre-approve specific transaction types so they confirm automatically without a per-transaction prompt across Move, Sui, Solana, Aptos, and Sonic chains, targeting gaming and high-frequency trading dApps where constant confirmation dialogs break the experience. The iOS app includes a bundled Safari extension that processes transaction approvals inside Safari itself, eliminating the tab-switching that normally accompanies mobile web3 interactions. An ecosystem tab within the wallet surfaces DeFi protocols, DEXs, NFT marketplaces, and other dApps across all supported chains, serving as a discovery tool as well as a signing interface. Alongside the consumer wallet, the team built Nightly Connect, an open protocol for dApp-to-wallet connections across chains that is analogous in concept to WalletConnect but designed to cover the full set of chains Nightly supports. The nightly-labs GitHub organization hosts adapter libraries for Solana, Aptos, and other ecosystems, letting dApp developers integrate once and gain Nightly support across all chain variants; this developer-facing layer gives Nightly a mechanism to grow ecosystem adoption beyond individual user installs. As of mid-2025, Nightly reports over one million total unique users and approximately 30,000 average weekly active users, with roughly one billion dollars in assets secured across accounts. The Chrome extension has around 100,000 installs and the Android app has approached 90,000 on Google Play, while the iOS app holds a 4.5-star rating on the App Store. The wallet is bootstrapped with no publicly disclosed venture funding rounds, which makes the user count notable given that Phantom, the dominant Solana wallet, has raised approximately 277 million dollars in external funding. Nightly competes in that market with a team of roughly ten people. Nightly has been particularly active in integrating emerging SVM chains and Move VM networks. The blog, with over 170 published articles, reflects a pattern of covering new chain launches shortly before or at the same time as Nightly adds native support. Movement Network received extended coverage and deep integration through mid-2025, with social login and swaps available for Movement users by August 2025. The KAST stablecoin cashback card integration, announced in January 2026, extends scope beyond DeFi into consumer spending at physical retailers via the Movement Network infrastructure. For Solana specifically, Nightly is compatible with the Solana wallet adapter standard and integrates with Jupiter for swap routing and Pyth for oracle pricing. Its SVM-chain-agnostic design means that as new SVM chains like Fogo and Sonic gain traction, Nightly is positioned to be an early supported wallet without requiring a separate codebase. The team describes Nightly as built by experienced Web3 practitioners rather than a formally incorporated startup, driven by community feedback and ecosystem partnerships rather than investor timelines. For users operating across multiple non-EVM ecosystems, Nightly occupies a distinct niche: a single wallet that natively understands the transaction formats, signing standards, and asset types of Solana, Aptos, Sui, NEAR, and Move chains without requiring bridging or chain-switching.
