  1. Breakpoint 25 Conference Talk 8 min read

    Product Keynote: Nansen

"Dashboards are dead in 2030." That provocative statement from Nansen's Charlie Kavanagh at Breakpoint 2025 set the stage for the unveiling of Nansen AI—a mobile application that fundamentally reimagines how crypto investors discover opportunities and execute trades. ... Nansen, the blockchain analytics platform that has served over one million users across its six-year history, made a significant pivot announcement at Breakpoint 2025.

About

Nansen

TLDR: Nansen is a Singapore-based blockchain analytics and onchain trading platform founded in 2020. It indexes over 500 million labeled wallet addresses across dozens of chains to surface Smart Money signals, token holder dynamics, and whale movements. Solana is a first-class supported network, with free wallet tracking, Token God Mode, and, as of January 2026, native AI-powered trade execution via Jupiter, OKX, and LI.FI — all without leaving the Nansen interface.

What Nansen Does

Nansen began as a pure analytics product: a database of labeled blockchain addresses that turns anonymous wallet activity into intelligible market signals. The core insight is that not all wallets are equal. By building a proprietary corpus of over 500 million tagged addresses — identifying funds, market makers, known traders, exchanges, and institutional entities — Nansen can show users which wallets are accumulating, distributing, or rotating into a given token before price action reflects it.

That labeling infrastructure underpins every product Nansen ships. Whether a trader is watching a Solana memecoin launch or a DeFi protocol on Ethereum, the same labeled-address engine reveals whether early holders are sophisticated accumulators or quick-flip retail.

Core Product Suite

Smart Money is Nansen's signature feature. It is a curated set of wallet labels — around a dozen categories in 2026 — applied to addresses that meet behavioral criteria Nansen's team defines through deposit patterns and historical PnL. Labels include Smart Trader (consistent profitable trading), Smart LP (top-performing liquidity providers), Fund (verified institutional addresses), and Smart Stablecoin Holder (large stable-asset treasuries). On Solana, additional labels like Memecoin Expert identify wallets with specific specializations. Users track which of these labeled wallets are moving in or out of a position, using Smart Money flows as a leading indicator.

Token God Mode provides a token-centric analytics view: holder distribution, smart-money inflows and outflows, exchange deposit activity, PnL leaderboards, and real-time flow tracking. For Solana tokens, Token God Mode is available to free users — a deliberate product decision that lowers the entry barrier for Solana participants.

Wallet Analyzer gives a complete portfolio snapshot for any Solana address — holdings, performance metrics, transaction history, and counterparty analysis — without requiring the user to own or control that wallet. This is the tool traders use to reverse-engineer what a high-performing wallet has been doing.

AI Analyst lets users query Nansen's onchain data in plain language. Rather than navigating dashboards manually, users can ask questions about market movements and receive data-driven responses sourced directly from Nansen's address database rather than from a general-purpose language model operating on stale training data.

Nansen's Solana Expansion

Nansen extended its Smart Money product to Solana in 2024, bringing the same labeling depth — Token God Mode, Hot Contracts, wallet alerts — to the ecosystem. Solana wallet tracking is available to all users at no cost, which reflects how central the chain has become to Nansen's strategy.

The more significant step came on January 21, 2026, when Nansen launched AI-powered trade execution on Solana and Base. The new capability lets users execute spot trades through a conversational "vibe trading" interface: rather than interacting with traditional order entry forms, traders describe what they want to do in plain language — buy, sell, or adjust positions based on the onchain signals surfaced by Nansen's analytics — and the platform executes accordingly. Execution is routed through partnerships with Jupiter (Solana's leading DEX aggregator), OKX, and the cross-chain protocol LI.FI, with the user's Nansen Wallet acting as the non-custodial settlement layer, powered by Privy infrastructure.

The mobile app supports the full agentic trading experience, while the web terminal supports what Nansen calls "terminal trading" — a more structured interface combining live onchain intelligence with order execution in a single view. In both cases, final control over transactions remains with the user; Nansen describes itself as augmenting decision-making rather than automating it autonomously.

Pricing and Access

Nansen operates a tiered subscription model as of 2026. A free tier provides meaningful Solana access — wallet tracking, token exploration, and Smart Money signals — making it a practical starting point for Solana traders. Paid plans scale to Standard at approximately $99 per month, VIP at $1,899 per month, and an enterprise Alpha tier with custom pricing. A Points system rewards active users with fee reductions, and Points holders are set to receive stakeholder status in Nansen's Joint Venture Protocols.

Joint Venture Protocols

In late 2025, Nansen announced a strategic expansion it calls Joint Venture Protocols (JVPs). Rather than remaining a pure data provider, Nansen intends to co-create and co-fund protocols that align with its product roadmap and user base. Priority domains include onchain trading, AI systems, tokenized assets, data infrastructure, and tools built on onchain intelligence. The company has emphasized selectivity — preferring a small number of meaningful JVPs over a broader spray of early-stage bets. The first JVP is planned for launch in 2026.

Team and Funding

Nansen was founded in May 2020 by Lars Bakke Krogvig and Evgeny Medvedev, with the company headquartered in Singapore. The company has raised $88.2 million across three funding rounds, with a $75 million Series B led by Accel. Notable investors include GIC (Singapore's sovereign wealth fund), Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Tiger Global, and SCB 10X, the venture arm of Thailand's Siam Commercial Bank. The investor roster reflects both the data-platform thesis and the institutional demand for professional onchain analytics tooling.

Tokens and Audits

Nansen does not have a native token as of August 2026. The Points system functions as an internal loyalty and fee-reduction mechanism rather than a tradeable asset. Because Nansen is an analytics and trading interface rather than an onchain protocol, it does not carry the smart-contract risk profile that would require a formal security audit in the conventional sense. The Nansen Wallet is built on Privy's non-custodial infrastructure, which separates key management from the Nansen application layer.

Geographic Restrictions

Nansen's autonomous trading features are restricted for residents of Singapore (the company's home jurisdiction), Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, and certain areas of Ukraine.

Solana Fit

Nansen's expansion into Solana reflects the chain's position as the dominant venue for retail onchain trading volume, memecoin activity, and stablecoin settlement. Solana processed 116 billion total transactions in 2025 and averaged 3.2 million daily active wallets, making it a natural priority for a platform that monetizes high-frequency, signal-rich onchain data. By offering free Solana tracking alongside Jupiter-integrated execution, Nansen has positioned itself as a practical entry point for active Solana traders who want Smart Money context without switching between multiple tools.
