Mesh Payment Network

Mesh Payment Network coordinates cryptocurrency payment operations through unified API infrastructure connecting exchanges, wallets, and financial platforms. The system enables merchant payment acceptance with SmartFunding conversion technology aggregating multiple funding sources, facilitates customer deposits from external accounts through embedded authentication flows, implements wallet ownership verification for regulatory compliance through Satoshi Test micro-deposits and KYC-lite matching with MiCA and EBA Travel Rule standards, and processes cryptocurrency payouts with programmatic address retrieval and transfer status monitoring across supported networks.

About

Mesh

Mesh is a crypto payments infrastructure company founded in 2020 and headquartered in New York. Its platform connects over 300 wallets and exchanges into a single payments network, allowing businesses to accept digital assets from virtually any source and settle transactions instantly in stablecoins or local fiat currency. Mesh positions itself as a neutral, chain-agnostic layer sitting between consumer funding sources and merchant settlement requirements — the connective tissue that makes crypto practical for real commerce.

Core Technology: SmartFunding

The central innovation behind Mesh is its proprietary SmartFunding technology. SmartFunding decouples what a buyer pays with from what a seller receives. A customer can choose to pay using SOL, BTC, ETH, or any of the 120+ supported tokens, and the merchant automatically receives the transaction amount in their preferred settlement currency — typically USDC, PYUSD, USDT, Ripple USD (RLUSD), or local fiat such as US dollars or euros — with no manual conversion step required on either side.

This "any-to-any" design eliminates one of the historically stubborn failure modes in crypto checkout: the mismatch between the asset a buyer holds and the asset a merchant is willing to accept. In practice, SmartFunding can combine up to five separate funding sources — multiple held tokens, an available cash balance, and linked payment methods — into a single checkout tap that the consumer experiences as one unified transaction.

Multi-Chain Support Including Solana

Mesh supports 120+ tokens across 24+ blockchain networks. The supported network list explicitly includes Solana alongside Ethereum, Polygon, Base, Stellar, Tron, and Tempo. SOL is accepted as a payment asset through SmartFunding, meaning Solana holders can use their native assets to pay merchants without first converting to stablecoins themselves.

For merchants operating on or settling in Solana-native assets, USDC on Solana is among the stablecoins available as a settlement option. This makes Mesh relevant to the Solana ecosystem both on the consumer side (SOL as a payment input) and on the settlement side (Solana-based USDC as output).

Product Offerings

Mesh offers two primary product lines:

Crypto Payments — A checkout layer that merchants embed via a single API integration. When a buyer initiates payment, Mesh surfaces their connected wallets and exchange accounts, handles asset conversion on the back end, and routes stablecoin settlement to the merchant. The merchant sees a predictable fiat-equivalent amount without exposure to the volatility of the underlying payment asset.

Crypto Deposits — An instant-deposit product that allows financial platforms, neobanks, and exchanges to let their users fund accounts using crypto held elsewhere. Rather than requiring users to manually withdraw from an exchange and transfer on-chain, Mesh handles the movement and conversion internally, reducing friction and on-chain fees.

Connected Ecosystem

The Mesh network spans more than 300 wallets and exchanges including Coinbase, Binance, Kraken, Revolut, and MetaMask. This reach means Mesh-integrated merchants can accept payment from the majority of self-custody wallet holders and centralized exchange users without requiring those users to install anything new or change their existing custody arrangements. The company reports that its connected platforms collectively serve over 900 million users worldwide.

Partnerships

Mesh has established named distribution and technology partnerships across the broader crypto and payments industry:

  • MetaMask / Consensys — Integration enabling MetaMask wallet holders to pay at Mesh-connected merchants
  • Shift4 — Payments infrastructure partnership announced in October 2024
  • Revolut — Distribution partnership allowing Revolut's user base to pay via Mesh
  • Bitget Wallet — Self-custody wallet integration
  • Tools for Humanity / World App — Integration enabling World App users to pay via Mesh
  • Paxos — Partnership announced December 2025, focused on stablecoin settlement rails
  • Ripple — Partnership announced August 2025, likely relating to RLUSD settlement support

Funding and Investors

Mesh has raised over $200 million across multiple institutional rounds:

Series B — $82 million (March 2025): Led by Paradigm, with participation from Consensys, PayPal Ventures, Galaxy Ventures, QuantumLight Capital, Yolo Investments, and MoneyForward. A notable feature of this round was that most of the investment was settled in PayPal USD (PYUSD), establishing an early precedent for stablecoin-denominated venture funding.

Series C — $75 million (January 2026): Led by Dragonfly Capital, with participation from Paradigm, Coinbase Ventures, Moderne Ventures, SBI Investment, and Liberty City Ventures. This round valued Mesh at $1 billion, granting it unicorn status. Part of the Series C was also settled in stablecoins, demonstrating enterprise-grade on-chain settlement capability.

The investor roster is notable for its crypto-native representation (Dragonfly Capital, Paradigm, Coinbase Ventures) alongside strategic fintech investors (PayPal Ventures, Moderne Ventures, SBI Investment), reflecting Mesh's positioning at the junction of crypto infrastructure and traditional financial services.

Leadership

Mesh was co-founded by CEO Bam Azizi, who has led the company since its 2020 founding and through its growth to unicorn status.

Global Expansion

Following its Series C, Mesh announced expansion into Latin America, Asia, Europe, and India. The platform already supports merchants and users across 100+ countries based on its Series B-era disclosures.

Recognition

Mesh received the Payment Technology Award at the Global FinTech Awards, recognizing its infrastructure work in making crypto payments practical at scale.

Solana Ecosystem Fit

Mesh is not a Solana-native protocol — it operates as a multi-chain payments network — but Solana is an explicit part of its supported infrastructure. SOL holders can use Mesh-connected merchants without selling their holdings, and merchants can settle in Solana-native USDC. As stablecoin payment volumes grow and Solana continues to see adoption as a settlement layer for consumer transactions, Mesh functions as one of the bridges that makes SOL practically spendable across a broad merchant base. The company's backing from Dragonfly Capital and Coinbase Ventures, both of which have significant Solana ecosystem exposure, further aligns Mesh with the direction of Solana-based payment adoption.
