About

Collectibles

Collectibles.com is a platform that helps hobbyists and serious collectors identify, appraise, manage, and trade physical collectibles through an AI-powered mobile app, with Solana providing blockchain-based ownership verification and settlement for select on-chain features.

What It Does

The core problem Collectibles.com addresses is one of opacity and friction in the physical collectibles market. Collectors have historically struggled to authenticate items, establish fair market values, and maintain accurate records of what they own. Collectibles.com solves this by giving anyone with a smartphone the ability to photograph an item and receive an instant AI-generated identification and estimated market value, backed by a database of more than 100 million data points.

The platform spans an unusually broad range of categories: trading cards, coins, stamps, comics, watches, jewelry, art, video games, books, antiques, wines, sneakers, postcards, and toys. This generalist positioning contrasts with most competitors, which focus exclusively on a single vertical such as sports cards.

How It Works

Users download the app (available on iOS and Android), scan a collectible with their phone camera, and receive an identification alongside estimated current market value and historical pricing context. Items can then be catalogued into a personal collection, allowing collectors to track total portfolio value over time. The app also provides a social layer — community feeds, personal gallery pages, and a rewards program where contributions to the platform earn redeemable points.

Version 4.4.0, released in June 2026, introduced scan improvements alongside Repackz, a gamified pack-opening feature and leaderboard system.

Repackz and Solana Integration

The most direct application of Solana within Collectibles.com is Repackz™, a digital pack-opening experience where users purchase packs ($25–$100) containing authenticated, professionally graded trading cards. Each pack opening is verified on-chain, creating a tamper-proof record. Users who prefer to hold the physical asset can redeem it; those who do not can sell the card back to the platform at 90% of market value.

Collectibles.com chose Solana specifically for its transaction economics. With settlement completing in approximately 400 milliseconds at fractions of a cent per transaction, Solana allows the platform to record ownership events and pack openings on-chain without adding meaningful cost or latency to the collector experience. This is consistent with the company's stated principle of keeping blockchain functionality invisible to non-crypto users — the platform is designed to serve traditional collectors first, with on-chain features available as an optional layer rather than a requirement.

Beyond Repackz, the broader roadmap includes immutable on-chain ownership records for physical assets and verified custody integrations with third-party vaults, enabling collectors to establish provenance without the asset leaving secure storage.

Team and Backing

Collectibles.com was founded in 2020 by serial entrepreneurs Alex Ivanov (CEO) and Dietrich von Behren (Chief Business Officer and Chief Strategy Officer). The company raised $5 million in seed funding led by Blockchange Ventures, with participation from notable investors including Peter Thiel and Marcus Lemonis.

Scale and Market Position

As of the most recent reporting available, Collectibles.com has accumulated more than 1.5 million registered users who collectively track an estimated $15 billion in collectibles value. The app holds a 4.6 out of 5 rating across approximately 9,900 App Store reviews. A subscription tier offering deeper features is available alongside the free base offering, with an annual plan priced at $39.99.

The platform targets the global collectibles market, which the company estimates at $500 billion. The trading card segment alone — the largest single driver of activity on the platform — reached $7.51 billion in market size in 2025.

Fit Within the Solana Ecosystem

Collectibles.com occupies a distinct position in the Solana ecosystem: it is primarily a consumer product serving a large, mainstream hobbyist community rather than a crypto-native application. Its use of Solana is narrowly scoped to on-chain pack verification and ownership records within Repackz, and the broader platform can be used without any knowledge of or interaction with cryptocurrency. This makes it one of the more accessible entry points for the Solana network among retail consumers who are active in the physical collectibles hobby but not in crypto.

The platform's approach — settling ownership events on Solana while keeping that infrastructure in the background — mirrors a broader trend of using blockchain for provenance and custody without requiring end users to manage wallets or tokens directly.

No security audits of the blockchain integration have been publicly disclosed as of the time of this writing. No standalone Collectibles.com token exists on Solana.
