CoinTR On-chain Earn
CoinTR On-chain Earn is a staking service that allows users to earn rewards by participating in blockchain network validation and consensus mechanisms. Users can stake supported cryptocurrencies directly through the platform to generate passive income.
CoinTR
CoinTR is a centralized cryptocurrency exchange headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey. Launched in 2021 and operating under Turkey's Sermaye Piyasası Kurulu (SPK), commonly known as the Capital Markets Board (CMB), the platform is one of Turkey's most prominent locally regulated crypto venues. Its founding team includes executives drawn from central bank and financial regulatory backgrounds, a deliberate signal of the platform's compliance-first orientation in a market that passed comprehensive crypto licensing law (Law 7518) in July 2024.
What Problem It Solves
Turkey has one of the world's highest retail crypto adoption rates, driven in part by persistent lira volatility. Most global exchanges offer limited or no direct Turkish Lira on-ramps, making it difficult for Turkish retail users to move between fiat and crypto without unnecessary friction or exposure to unlicensed platforms. CoinTR addresses this by building a fully licensed exchange with 24/7 TRY deposits and withdrawals via Turkey's domestic FAST and EFT banking rails, giving users seamless access to crypto markets denominated in their local currency.
How It Works
CoinTR operates as a standard centralized order-book exchange. Users complete KYC onboarding — basic-tier registration requires three steps — and can then access spot markets, fiat on-ramps, and yield products from a single account. The platform maintains custody of user assets using cold wallet storage, with two-factor authentication (2FA) required at login and withdrawal.
The exchange runs two primary market types:
- Spot Trading: A full-featured trading interface with order books, charting tools, and limit and market orders.
- Easy Buy/Sell: A simplified flow for casual users who want to convert TRY or USDT directly into a specific asset without navigating the order book.
Beyond these core flows, CoinTR offers a Spot Grid Trading bot that automates range-bound buying and selling, enabling users to execute systematic strategies without manual intervention.
Key Features
Launchpad and Launchpool: CoinTR's launchpad, which went live in January 2024 with the EZ Swap token sale as its first project, allows users to subscribe for allocations in new token launches at pre-listing prices. A parallel launchpool product lets users stake existing assets to earn tickets or allocations in upcoming launches. These products position CoinTR as more than a secondary market; it participates in the primary distribution layer of new tokens.
Copy Trading: The platform offers copy trading, allowing less experienced users to mirror the activity of selected traders automatically.
OTC and VIP Services: High-volume traders and institutional clients can access dedicated over-the-counter desks and VIP tiers with reduced fees and elevated withdrawal limits. A tiered fee structure starts at approximately 0.20% for spot trades and decreases with volume.
API Access: CoinTR provides a trading API aimed at algorithmic traders and institutional integrations, enabling programmatic order placement and market data retrieval.
Web3 Wallet: An integrated Web3 wallet gives users on-chain asset control alongside their exchange account, enabling movement between custodial and non-custodial environments.
Staking (On-Chain Earn): The platform surfaces on-chain staking options, including Solana staking, within its earn product suite. SOL holders can participate in Solana's proof-of-stake validation process through CoinTR's on-chain earn interface.
Supported Assets
CoinTR lists over 150 cryptocurrencies. The primary fiat pairing is the Turkish Lira (TRY); USDT serves as the dominant stablecoin pairing for most assets. Solana (SOL) is listed with both SOL/TRY and SOL/USDT spot pairs, giving Turkish investors direct lira-denominated access to the Solana network's native asset. Other major listed assets include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Dogecoin (DOGE), and Pepe (PEPE). The exchange adds new listings on a rolling basis.
Security and Compliance
CoinTR operates within Turkey's SPK licensing framework. Law 7518, passed in July 2024, mandates that crypto asset service providers operating in Turkey meet capital adequacy, custody, and reporting requirements set by the CMB, with full compliance required by mid-2025 under updated SPK guidance. CoinTR aligns its custody infrastructure with TÜBİTAK (Turkey's scientific and technology research council) standards as part of this framework.
The platform uses cold wallet storage for the majority of user funds, enforces 2FA, and requires KYC at multiple verification tiers. Specific third-party security audits and proof-of-reserves disclosures have not been publicly released.
Scale and Market Position
CoinTR has accumulated over one million registered users and reports 24-hour trading volumes in the range of $130 million to $300 million depending on market conditions, placing it among the largest domestically focused Turkish platforms. The company employs between 51 and 250 people across its Istanbul headquarters.
Relationship to Solana
CoinTR is not a Solana-native protocol — it does not deploy programs on the Solana network or use Solana infrastructure for its matching engine or custody. Its relationship to the Solana ecosystem is as a fiat on-ramp and liquidity venue: Turkish investors use CoinTR to acquire SOL with Turkish Lira, and the exchange's launchpad has hosted projects from adjacent Web3 ecosystems. For the Solana ecosystem broadly, exchanges like CoinTR expand retail access to SOL in markets where global platforms have limited local banking integration, contributing to geographic diversification of the Solana investor base.
