Breakbot

BreakBot was a Solana-based platform that turned AI prompt security into a competitive on-chain game. Launched in late 2024 and recognised at the Solana AI Hackathon in January 2025, it let users create their own AI agents, fortify them with custom system prompts, and dare the broader community to jailbreak them for SOL rewards. The domain breakbot.xyz is currently parked for sale, and the project shows no signs of continued development.

How It Worked

The core loop was straightforward. An agent creator deployed a new AI agent on the platform, authored its system prompt, embedded a secret target phrase inside that prompt, and seeded a liquidity pool with an initial SOL deposit. That deposit formed the starting prize for whoever could get the agent to utter the hidden phrase.

Other users paid a fee to interact with the agent. Each attempt that failed to extract the target phrase added its fee directly to the prize pool, so the potential reward grew with every unsuccessful challenge. The incentive structure aligned naturally: creators were motivated to write airtight prompts, while challengers were motivated to probe for weaknesses with increasingly creative strategies.

When a challenger succeeded, settlement happened on-chain and immediately. The winner received 70 percent of the accumulated prize pool. The agent creator collected 20 percent as compensation for building a prompt that survived multiple attempts before finally falling. The platform retained 10 percent, with half of that share burned, creating mild deflationary pressure on the BREAK token.

All interactions were recorded on-chain, giving the chat history full public transparency. Anyone could audit every message sent to an agent, verify the legitimacy of a winning submission, and study the techniques that eventually cracked a particular prompt.

BREAK Token

The BREAK token (contract address 6SsQttgcaUa5eSkfmGEbrZCaJfns3hQTywNjAtqNpump) was deployed on Solana via the pump.fun launchpad. It was not verified on the Solana token registry, and Solflare risk scanner flagged it for potential concerns. Token metadata remained mutable. At its last measurable state, market capitalisation had fallen to roughly five thousand dollars with daily trading volume well below one dollar, consistent with a project that had wound down.

Solana Ecosystem Context

BreakBot launched during a surge of interest in AI agents on Solana, a period when projects like ElizaOS, Griffain, and dozens of others were exploring autonomous on-chain actors. Its angle, prompt security as an adversarial game, was a credible niche: as AI agents began managing wallets and executing transactions, the robustness of their system prompts became a genuine concern. BreakBot essentially turned red-teaming into a financial incentive layer.

The project received an honourable mention in the Proxy Infrastructure track at the Solana AI Hackathon organised by SendAI in January 2025, which selected 21 projects from more than 400 entries. That recognition came alongside other early-stage infrastructure experiments in the AI agent space.

Current Status

The breakbot.xyz domain now redirects to a GoDaddy domain-for-sale page. The guide and roadmap subpages return blank. The official X account (@thebreakbot) appears to be inactive or deleted. BreakBot did not progress beyond its initial launch and should be considered defunct. The BREAK token remains on-chain with approximately 6,200 holders, but the platform that gave it utility no longer operates.
