About

Bitunix

Bitunix is a global cryptocurrency derivatives and spot exchange launched in 2022 under Bitunix Fintech LLC, incorporated in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. By the first half of 2026 the platform had grown to more than five million registered users across more than 100 countries, processing over $300 billion in cumulative trading volume in that period, with daily volume regularly exceeding $5 billion. By derivatives volume, Bitunix ranks among the top seven exchanges globally according to CoinGlass data, and the exchange was recognized with a Best Futures Exchange 2025 award from Crypto.ru.

Core Trading Products

The exchange's flagship offering is its perpetual futures market. Traders can access hundreds of assets — including Solana (SOL), Bitcoin (BTC), and Ethereum (ETH) — with leverage of up to 200x on select pairs. Contracts are USDT-margined, meaning they settle in stablecoin and participants do not need to hold the underlying asset to open a position. The SOLUSDT perpetual is among the featured pairs alongside BTCUSDT and ETHUSDT, making Bitunix a material centralized-exchange venue for traders seeking leveraged exposure to Solana.

Spot trading runs in parallel with over 1,000 trading pairs. Base-tier fees sit at 0.08% for makers and 0.10% for takers on spot, while futures fees are considerably lower at 0.02% maker and 0.06% taker — a structure that rewards active derivatives traders. The interface integrates TradingView charting with multi-window layouts and candlestick alert tools, and users can start trading with as little as $10.

Additional Products

Copy Trading. Users can automatically mirror the open positions of experienced traders on the platform. The fee model charges a 10% profit share only on winning trades, so followers incur no cost when a copied strategy generates losses.

P2P Trading. A peer-to-peer marketplace supports fiat-to-crypto transactions in over 70 fiat currencies, enabling deposits and withdrawals without relying on centralized payment rails. Fiat deposits through P2P carry no additional fee from the exchange.

Easy Earn. A structured savings product allows users to put idle balances to work in interest-bearing positions including flexible savings, fixed-term deposits, dual-investment structures, and liquidity pool participation tools. SOL is supported within the Earn suite, giving SOL holders a passive yield path without exiting the position.

Bitunix Ultra. A newer product line that lists tokenized traditional-finance instruments as perpetual futures, including US-listed ETFs such as the SPDR S&P Biotech ETF and various leveraged single-stock ETF products. This gives traders crypto-native access to TradFi price exposure without opening a separate brokerage account.

Security Architecture

In December 2025, Bitunix announced integrations with Fireblocks and Elliptic that materially upgraded its custody and compliance infrastructure.

On the custody side, the exchange adopted Fireblocks' Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology. Rather than relying on a single private key, MPC distributes key material across multiple secure environments, reducing the attack surface for both external breaches and insider threats. Policy-driven approval frameworks add a further layer by blocking transactions that fall outside pre-configured parameters. The Fireblocks partnership also brought $42.5 million in expanded digital asset crime and operational risk insurance.

For transaction monitoring, Bitunix integrated Elliptic KYT (Know Your Transaction), which performs real-time blockchain surveillance to flag activity linked to fraud, stolen funds, darknet markets, and sanctioned entities. This layer supports the exchange's anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing obligations. Chief Security Officer Steven Gu described the integrations as reconfirming the team's top priority of user protection.

Additional security measures include:

  • Cobo Custody as a complementary custodian
  • Regular audits by Hacken and Salus security firms
  • $5 million dedicated insurance policy through UK-based Nemean Services
  • $30 million Care Fund for user protection in tail-risk scenarios
  • Monthly Proof of Reserves verified by Merkle Tree attestation, confirming at least 1:1 backing of all user deposits

Compliance and Licensing

Bitunix holds Money Services Business (MSB) registrations with FinCEN in the United States, FINTRAC in Canada, and AUSTRAC in Australia (added January 2026). It also holds a virtual asset service provider license from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in the Philippines and a bitcoin service provider registration with the Banco Central de Reserva de El Salvador (added July 2026). Despite holding these MSB registrations, the exchange does not currently permit residents of the US or Australia to open trading accounts — a common posture for exchanges building regulatory relationships without full domestic operating approval.

The exchange has no MiCA authorization in the European Economic Area and was placed on the French financial regulator's warning list in March 2025. KYC is tiered rather than mandatory at registration: Level 0 users cannot withdraw; Level 1 identity verification unlocks daily withdrawal limits of up to 2 million USDT; Level 2 extends that to 5 million USDT per day, and basic account creation requires only an email address.

Platform Development

Bitunix delivered over 90 product improvements in the first half of 2026, spanning candlestick alert tools, expanded VIP membership tiers, tax reporting features, and liquidity pool participation tools. The exchange has posted year-over-year ranking improvements on CoinMarketCap, CoinGecko, and CryptoRank. New users receive up to 10,000 USDT in trial funds and a welcome bonus of up to $5,500, and affiliate commissions reach up to 70% of referred-user fees, reflecting a competitive onboarding posture.

Solana Ecosystem Relevance

Solana is a first-tier asset on Bitunix across both spot and perpetual futures markets. The SOLUSDT perpetual pair is featured prominently alongside the exchange's other headline markets, giving traders a liquid venue for leveraged directional positions or hedges against SOL holdings.

SOL also appears in two additional capital-efficiency contexts. Under the exchange's Multi-Assets Mode, users holding SOL in their spot wallet can use that balance directly as collateral for futures positions without converting it first — keeping spot exposure intact while also running derivatives strategies. And through the Easy Earn suite, SOL holders can earn passive yield without exiting the position.

For participants active in the Solana ecosystem who want access to high-leverage derivatives or a centralized exchange with deep liquidity, Bitunix operates at meaningful scale: top-seven derivatives exchange by volume globally and more than five million registered users as of mid-2026.
