    Product Keynote: Artemis (Jon Ma)

In a room hungry for alpha, Artemis CEO Jon Ma delivered exactly what the Breakpoint 2025 audience came for: concrete evidence that Solana is winning the blockchain payments war. ... Artemis, a fintech and stablecoin data company serving industry giants like Tether, Circle, Visa, and PayPal, has cracked one of crypto's most challenging analytical problems: measuring real payment volume on blockchain networks.

About

Artemis

Artemis is a crypto and stablecoin analytics platform founded in 2022 and designed to serve institutional investors, researchers, protocol teams, and financial analysts who need reliable, standardized on-chain fundamental data. The company positions itself as the crypto equivalent of a Bloomberg Terminal — a single interface where users can compare revenue, fees, total value locked (TVL), active addresses, and user activity across more than 12,000 tokens and 50+ blockchains simultaneously, without needing to aggregate raw data from dozens of disconnected sources.

The platform's core premise arose directly from the founders' own experience. Vincent Jow and James Ho, early-stage crypto investors who worked at Modular Capital, found themselves pulling blockchain metrics from ten or more separate services to perform basic comparative analysis. Their first product, Goku Stats, launched in 2022 as an internal tool before evolving into the full Artemis platform. CEO Jon Ma and CTO Anthony Yim joined as co-founders and have led the platform's expansion since.

How It Works

Artemis ingests on-chain data using a streaming data pipeline built on Goldsky Mirror, which pipes raw block and transaction data from supported networks directly into Amazon S3 buckets as Parquet files. That data is then loaded into Snowflake, where it is modeled, standardized, and surfaced through Artemis's various product layers. The architecture uses append-only writes with at-least-once delivery guarantees and reportedly sustains 99.99%+ uptime. New chains can be instrumented and onboarded in under a day, and historical backfills complete in hours rather than weeks.

The platform's modeled data covers more than 1,000 pre-built metrics, enabling non-technical users to perform analytical work that would otherwise require SQL expertise or custom data engineering.

Products and Features

Artemis delivers its data through five distinct product surfaces:

Terminal is a no-code web dashboard for comparing protocols, chains, fintech companies, and public tech equities across fundamental metrics. Users can screen assets by revenue, fee generation, TVL, active addresses, transaction counts, and developer activity, with charting tools built for institutional workflows.

Artemis Sheets is a spreadsheet plugin for Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets that lets analysts pull live on-chain data using a formula syntax (=ART()). It provides pre-built templates for asset screening and valuation, bringing a CapIQ-style workflow to crypto research.

Datashare provides private Snowflake Data Sharing, giving data teams direct SQL and Python access to Artemis's underlying datasets without file exports or API rate limits.

API exposes Artemis's fundamental metrics via a REST interface, enabling custom integrations, dashboards, and automated workflows.

ART Chat is an AI-powered analyst interface that lets users query the Artemis dataset in natural language, surfacing insights without requiring users to build queries manually.

Stablecoin Coverage

Stablecoin analytics is one of Artemis's most prominent specializations. The platform tracks more than 50 stablecoins across 18+ chains, covering supply, transfer volume, transaction counts, active users, geographic usage patterns, and flow data broken down by issuer and network. Artemis works directly with stablecoin issuers and blockchain teams to validate metric methodology, and has co-published research reports on stablecoin payment behavior with Castle Island Ventures and Visa.

Solana Ecosystem Fit

Solana is a first-class supported chain within the Artemis platform. The Artemis dashboard for Solana tracks daily active addresses, fee revenue, transaction volumes, DEX activity, and stablecoin flows at both the chain and application level. Artemis data has been cited in coverage of Solana's milestone performances, including its emergence as the top-ranked blockchain by network revenue for multiple consecutive quarters in 2025, and its achievement of matching the combined monthly active address count of all other L1 and L2 chains as of June 2025.

For Solana-specific stablecoin analysis, Artemis breaks down USDC and USDT flows by protocol, distinguishing exchange activity (Phoenix, Raydium) from application-layer behavior in lending and perpetuals markets. This level of granularity makes Artemis a primary reference for institutional analysts evaluating Solana's real-economy usage relative to other chains.

Team and Backing

Artemis was founded by Vincent Jow and James Ho out of Modular Capital, with Jon Ma (CEO) and Anthony Yim (CTO) leading day-to-day operations. The broader team of approximately 25 members includes engineers, researchers, and data scientists drawn from Venmo, Coinbase, Modern Treasury, Ribbit Capital, BlackRock, Whale Rock, and Messari.

The company's investors include Dragonfly Capital, Haun Ventures, Fika Ventures, Caladan, and Modular Capital. Institutional clients — including McKinsey, T. Rowe Price, VanEck, Visa, Circle, Sequoia Capital, Grayscale, and Tether — use Artemis data for investment decisions, research publications, and strategy reports.

Data Methodology

Artemis does not publicly disclose formal third-party security audits of its data pipelines. However, the platform emphasizes methodology transparency as a core product principle: users can review how individual metrics are defined and sourced, and the company works directly with blockchain teams and stablecoin issuers to validate numbers before they appear in the product. This approach contrasts with platforms that rely solely on third-party scrapers or unverified aggregation.

Artemis positions itself between raw data providers like Dune Analytics (which requires SQL expertise) and more opinionated research platforms. It standardizes blockchain fundamentals in the way that traditional data terminals standardize equity financials — enabling comparisons across asset classes, geographies, and networks that are otherwise difficult to construct manually.
