Solana's July App Revenue Hits $82.9M and Network Revenue Share Passes Ethereum for the First Time
Solana's 16.5% network revenue share topped Ethereum for the first time in July 2026, as monthly app revenue reached $82.9M and stablecoins hit a $15.7B ATH.
Solana SOL$97.02-3.6% Solana's application layer generated $82.9M in revenue during July 2026, its highest monthly total since February, while the network's share of total cross-chain revenue reached 16.5%, placing it ahead of Ethereum by that measure for the first time. The @solana official account published a four-metric July summary on August 6, citing Blockworks Research data; Coinfomania covered the same metrics independently the same day. Stablecoin supply set a new all-time high and memecoins returned to a meaningful share of DEX activity.
Solana Captures 16.5% of Network Revenue, Ranking Ahead of Ethereum
Solana ranked third among all tracked blockchains by network revenue share in July, per Blockworks Research data, with a 16.5% share placing it above Ethereum by this metric for the first time in a monthly period.
Network revenue share measures what fraction of total economic output across tracked chains flows through a given network, capturing fees, MEV, and application-layer earnings as a combined signal of structural demand. Sustained share at this level requires both consistent user activity and applications generating meaningful fees, rather than traffic alone.
The July monthly figure extends a pattern visible in mid-July: on July 18, Solana briefly claimed the top position among all chains in daily network revenue for the first time since February, driven by a surge in application activity. The monthly aggregate confirms that single day was part of a broader trend rather than an isolated spike.
$82.9M in Monthly App Revenue: Context for the Daily Records
The $82.9M monthly total provides the aggregate picture behind the individual performance figures reported earlier this week. On August 4, Solana dApps generated $4.44M in a single day, a six-month daily high. That peak came at the end of a month in which the daily run rate was already elevated relative to the preceding spring period.
The February benchmark matters because the months between then and July were a softer period for Solana fee generation. July returning to February-level aggregate revenue with four distinct metrics all moving in the same direction suggests this is not a single-day or single-category spike.
Stablecoin Supply Reaches $15.7B, a New All-Time High
Solana's stablecoin supply reached $15.7B in July, a new all-time high per the same Blockworks Research dataset. Stablecoin supply growth indicates capital is being brought on-chain and deployed within the ecosystem (for trading, payments, lending, and protocol interactions) rather than rotating among existing assets. An all-time high in supply alongside record-level app revenue suggests July's fee generation rested on broad capital deployment across the ecosystem rather than a narrow cluster of high-revenue protocols carrying the total.
Memecoins Return to 25% of Solana DEX Volume
Memecoins accounted for roughly 25% of Solana DEX volume in July, per the Blockworks Research figures. That share had compressed during the lower-volume spring months. Its return toward the 25% range reflects recovery in the speculative trading activity that drove Solana DEX volume to elevated levels in early 2026.
Solana Compass DEX data shows the shape of that July activity: daily volume opened the month modestly before rising sharply in the Jul 20โ23 window, where it averaged above $8B per day, then settled into a $5โ7.5B daily range through month's end.
Solana DEX volume peaked above $8B on three days around July 20-23, with the four-day average for that window above $8B, before settling to a $5.7โ7.6B range through month-end.
View on Solana Compass โMemecoin trading generates meaningful fee revenue for protocols and validators and supports DEX liquidity depth. At 25% of volume, it is a significant contributor to the total, though the stablecoin ATH and app revenue breadth make clear that July's activity extended well beyond a single trading category.
