Phantom CASH$1.0000.0% is dropping support for the Sui blockchain on September 24, 2026, giving affected users 31 days to move or swap their Sui holdings. The wallet announced the change on August 24 and described it as a mutual decision reached with the Sui team.
After September 24, Phantom will stop displaying Sui balances and will no longer sign or broadcast Sui network transactions. Assets are not deleted; they remain on-chain and under user custody, accessible to anyone who holds the corresponding secret recovery phrase.
What Phantom Users With Sui Assets Need to Do Before September 24
The wallet outlines two paths for affected users: swap within Phantom before September 24, or move to a Sui-native wallet.
Phantom is waiving fees on swaps from native SUI to its wrapped equivalent on Solana through the deadline. Swapping Sui assets into SOL, ETH, or USDC carries standard fees.
For users staying on the Sui network, Phantom's documentation recommends Slush, a wallet associated with the Sui Foundation. The process is the same as any self-custody migration: export the secret recovery phrase from Phantom, import it into Slush, and existing Sui addresses and balances appear automatically. Any Sui-compatible wallet that accepts a standard recovery phrase will work.
Phantom's guidance notes that the wallet will not initiate contact with users about the transition and will not ask for a recovery phrase. Unsolicited messages offering to help move Sui assets are scams.
Which Blockchains Phantom Supports After the Change
Once Sui is removed, Phantom will support three networks: Solana, Ethereum, and Bitcoin. The wallet launched as a Solana-native product before expanding to Ethereum and then Bitcoin. Sui was added in January 2025 as the first Move-language blockchain the wallet natively supported, a milestone Phantom highlighted at the time.
The September 24 transition trims the network list back to three chains. Neither Phantom nor the Sui Foundation gave public explanations beyond the mutual-decision framing and a note that future collaboration remains possible.
Phantom has previously outlined its product direction as building toward a consumer finance super app with Solana at the center, a strategy CEO Brandon Millman discussed in detail in August 2025 alongside IPO considerations and M&A plans. The Sui exit concentrates the wallet's supported surface on the three networks where its active user base operates.
Key Dates for Affected Users
- August 24, 2026: Phantom announces the end of Sui support; fee waiver for native SUI swaps begins.
- September 24, 2026: Sui support ends. Balances stop displaying; Sui transactions are no longer processed.
- After September 24: Sui assets remain recoverable by importing a secret recovery phrase into any Sui-compatible wallet.
Users who miss the September 24 deadline will not permanently lose access to their funds. The phrase-based recovery path stays open, but they will not be able to view or move Sui assets through Phantom after that date.
Context: A 20-Month Integration
Phantom added Sui in January 2025, when the wallet was actively expanding its multi-chain presence and positioning itself as a unified interface for several ecosystems. The integration came with native Sui token display, in-wallet swaps, and dApp browser access on the Sui network.
That integration lasted roughly 20 months before both parties agreed to end it. The announcement's framing ("leave open the opportunity to explore other collaborations in the future") signals the split is commercial rather than adversarial. For Phantom, the reduction simplifies a product surface that now consolidates around Solana, Ethereum, and Bitcoin. For Sui users in Phantom, Slush positions itself as the direct Sui-native alternative, and the fee-waived swap window through September 24 provides a low-friction route for those who want to convert their Sui exposure to Solana-native assets before the cutoff.
