Stoned Ape Crew

Stoned Ape Crew (SAC) is a cannabis-culture NFT project on Solana that launched in November 2021, combining a 4,200-piece generative art collection with on-chain gameplay, a native utility token, and real-world integrations targeting the legal cannabis industry.

SAC launched on November 28, 2021, minting 4,200 procedurally generated ape NFTs at 0.69 SOL each -- a price chosen as a nod to cannabis culture numerology. The collection sold out in two minutes. The art was created by the artist known as @stoner0015.

Each Stoned Ape carries one of five roles that determine its daily token yield. The four specialist roles -- Artist, Business Ape, Farmer, and Scientist -- each earn 30 $PUFF plus 42 $ALL tokens per day when staked. The base role, called Chimpion, earns 15 $PUFF plus 42 $ALL daily. Roughly half the collection launched with specialist roles. A companion collection called Nuked Apes can be rescued by sending two Stoned Apes on missions and burning $PUFF.

The $PUFF token drives all core mechanics. Holders stake apes to earn $PUFF, then spend it on Evolutionary Retreats (333-666 $PUFF to upgrade a Chimpion's role, 60-80% success rate), the Awakening feature (animating NFTs on-chain), and merchandise. The project describes its evolution system as a first-of-its-kind mechanic on Solana.

SAC has built two technology products alongside the collection. Monet is a community platform serving 200-plus NFT communities with over 12,000 users, enabling raffles and revenue-sharing. PayLeaf is a payment processor targeting the cannabis industry, designed to let $PUFF be spent at dispensaries -- addressing the persistent banking challenges faced by cannabis businesses.

The current phase, Space Missions, hosts cross-community gameplay on the Cosmic Clash platform. SAC has organized holder events in Los Angeles, New York, and Amsterdam, donated over 70,000 USD to MAPS (the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) for mental health research, and runs an Alpha Hunter program recruiting holders to source market intelligence. No formal smart contract audit has been publicly disclosed.
