About

Stakeware

Stakeware is a Solana validator and staking infrastructure provider that ties its commercial operations directly to open-source ecosystem support. Founded in February 2024, the project runs professional validator infrastructure and directs a portion of its revenue toward developer tools and community resources for the Solana network.

How It Works

Stakeware operates as a Solana validator, earning staking rewards by processing transactions and producing blocks on the network. Delegators stake SOL to the Stakeware validator and receive a share of those rewards minus the validator's commission. The project frames its validator commission structure as a funding mechanism for open-source work: by delegating stake, users effectively co-fund the tools and resources Stakeware contributes to the ecosystem.

Staking is open to any amount, with preset tiers of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, or 100 SOL and a custom-amount option for larger positions. No proprietary staking token or liquid staking derivative is issued — rewards accumulate in the delegator's native SOL stake account on-chain, as with any standard Solana validator relationship.

Products and Features

Validator Infrastructure

Stakeware's core offering is its validator node, marketed around enterprise-grade uptime (99.9%), transparent fee structures, and 24/7 monitoring. Institutional delegators are offered custom arrangements including dedicated support and detailed analytics on their staked positions.

Developer Faucets

Two publicly accessible faucet tools support Solana developers working outside mainnet:

  • Devnet Faucet — Enables developers to receive test SOL on Solana's devnet environment. The tool is forked from the open-source ferric-sol/testnetfaucet codebase, extended with a TypeScript/Next.js frontend, and deployable to Vercel with minimal configuration. As of early 2025, this repository reflects 68 commits of active maintenance.

  • Testnet Faucet — A parallel tool distributing test SOL on Solana's testnet, supporting pre-production validator and application testing.

Solana Hardware Compatibility List

Stakeware maintains a reference resource cataloguing hardware validated for Solana validator operation. This serves the practical needs of operators evaluating or planning validator infrastructure, a segment of the ecosystem where reliable community-maintained guidance is consistently in demand.

Solana Blink Staking Template

A public GitHub repository (blink-stake-template) is listed as a Solana Blink template enabling validator staking interactions. Solana Blinks are shareable, on-chain action URLs that allow complex transactions to be triggered from any app or webpage without a dedicated frontend. The repository was initialised in mid-2024, though as of the time of this writing it remains unpopulated — it appears to be a planned or in-progress contribution.

Upcoming Initiatives

Stakeware has announced several planned additions to its ecosystem resource suite:

  • Solana Open Source Discovery Platform — A dedicated interface for surfacing open-source Solana projects, connecting builders with community-supported work.
  • Hyperlift — A daily discovery feed for new Solana projects, aimed at keeping developers and users current with the pace of ecosystem development.
  • Solana RPC Map — An interactive visualisation of Solana node geography, providing transparency into the network's physical distribution and redundancy.

These are presented as works in progress on the Stakeware website, with no confirmed launch dates as of mid-2025.

Tokens and Assets

Stakeware does not issue its own token. All staking activity is denominated in SOL. There are no governance tokens, points systems, or liquid staking receipts associated with delegation to the Stakeware validator.

Security and Audits

No third-party security audits have been published for Stakeware's validator operations or its developer tools. The open-source faucet tools it maintains inherit the security posture of the upstream repositories they fork from, and are used in testnet and devnet environments where the economic stakes are low by design.

Team and Background

Stakeware does not publicly name its team members or disclose its organisational structure on its website or GitHub profile. The GitHub organisation is registered to a United States-based operator. The project was established in February 2024 and has maintained a consistent public presence through its website and developer tools since then.

Solana Ecosystem Fit

Stakeware occupies a niche that blends validator economics with ecosystem stewardship. Rather than competing purely on commission rates, it positions its validator as an entry point for users who want their stake to indirectly fund open-source tooling and community infrastructure.

The developer tools it offers — devnet faucets, hardware compatibility guidance, and planned RPC mapping — address genuine friction points in the Solana builder experience. Faucet access, in particular, is a recurring pain point for developers who regularly cycle through devnet and testnet environments, and publicly hosted alternatives with reliable uptime carry real utility.

The Blink staking template, if completed, would extend Stakeware's reach by making validator delegation embeddable across social media and web applications — a pattern aligned with the broader Solana Blinks ecosystem, which aims to bring on-chain actions to any digital surface.

As of mid-2025, Stakeware is a small but active operator in Solana's validator landscape, with its strongest differentiation in community-facing tooling and its open-source development posture rather than in raw staking metrics.
