Sharp Trade

Sharp Trade is a social, gamified platform on Solana that lets users earn by predicting short-term crypto price movements and trading American-style options peer-to-peer.

What It Is and the Problem It Solves

Retail traders looking for fast, low-cost price-action exposure on crypto face a common dilemma: centralised prediction platforms require account sign-ups and lack transparency, while most on-chain derivatives are too complex for casual users. Sharp Trade addresses both problems by packaging short-duration crypto predictions and a simplified P2P options market into a single gamified application built on Solana, using fully on-chain settlement and standard Solana wallets to keep entry friction minimal.

Core Mechanism: Sharp Predictions

The primary product is a one-minute prediction market where users forecast whether a supported asset price will rise ("Moon") or fall ("Doom") within a given round. All participants predicting the same direction contribute to a shared pool; if the prediction is correct, winners split the opposing pool proportionally to their stake. The house provides a guaranteed minimum payout of 1.75x the wagered amount, rising to as much as 2.33x when participation is limited or heavily skewed to one side. Pyth Network price feeds supply the real-time price data for settlement.

The platform also offers a freeUSD in-game currency, pegged 1:1 to USDC, which allows users to participate in prediction rounds without risking real funds. A nominal SOL fee (5%) applies even in free mode to cover transaction costs. Supported assets for predictions include SOL, ETH, and BTC, with additional assets available.

Core Mechanism: Sharp Options

The second product is a P2P options marketplace offering American-style contracts with a simplified 7-day expiration model. Users can place buy or sell orders for calls (right to buy) or puts (right to sell) at a chosen strike price. Orders remain open until a counterparty fills them; once matched, the buyer pays a premium and gains the right to exercise the option at any point before expiry.

Settlement can be handled in two ways. Physical settlement means the buyer purchases the underlying asset at the strike price and takes delivery. Cash settlement, integrated with the Orca DEX, pays the buyer the profit in USDC -- the difference between the strike price and the prevailing market price -- without requiring the buyer to post full purchase capital. This cash-settlement path is designed to lower the barrier for users with smaller balances. A Pro version with weekly expiries aligned to Fridays and multiple duration choices is described as a planned upgrade.

Key Features

Sharp Trade layers gamification onto both products to drive engagement. Users accumulate Sharp XP through participation, which unlocks access to events, expanded features, and community roles. The progression system moves members through named stages, starting as a Sharp Prospect and advancing to Sharp Trader and beyond, with each level granting perks such as referral codes, NFT rewards, and event invitations.

Community mechanics include Sharp Party, a multiplayer social experience where users compete and collaborate in group sessions. Leaderboards and live in-app chat provide competitive context and social accountability. A two-tier referral program rewards users with up to 30% of referred friends' trading fees, plus 10% cashback when following another trader's positions.

Supported Assets and Tokens

Predictions run on SOL, ETH, and BTC price feeds. Users stake with USDC or freeUSD on Solana, and with bridged ETH, USDC, or freeUSD on the Eclipse deployment. Options contracts are denominated in USDC, with calls also accepting the underlying asset as collateral.

Multi-Chain Deployment

Sharp Trade is deployed on two chains. On Solana, users connect with any standard Solana wallet and transact with SOL and USDC at low per-transaction cost. On Eclipse -- an Ethereum SVM Layer 2 that runs the Solana Virtual Machine while drawing from Ethereum's liquidity -- users bridge ETH from Ethereum and connect with Backpack wallet. The Eclipse deployment extends Sharp Trade's reach to Ethereum-native users without sacrificing the speed and fee profile of the SVM execution environment.

Price oracles are provided by Pyth Network. Web3 identity and leaderboard display names are powered by All Domains, a Solana-native domain name service that allows users to replace wallet addresses with readable .solana handles.

Security and Audit Status

No third-party security audit has been publicly disclosed in the available documentation. The platform's smart contracts run on Solana and Eclipse, and the P2P options design removes the need for a centralised counterparty, but users should be aware that no audit evidence has been surfaced at the time of writing.

Team and Background

The team behind Sharp Trade operates pseudonymously. The official documentation references an origin story and a past rebrand, suggesting the project evolved from an earlier iteration, but specific founding team details are not disclosed in public-facing materials. The community is organised across Discord and X under the @SharpTradeFi handle.

Solana Ecosystem Fit

Sharp Trade is a natural fit for Solana's high-throughput, low-fee environment. One-minute prediction rounds require fast finality and cheap transactions to remain economically viable for small stakes; Solana's architecture supports thousands of transactions per second at near-zero per-transaction cost, enabling the rapid round cycling the product depends on. The Eclipse integration extends this SVM advantage to users bridging from Ethereum, broadening the addressable market without requiring a full chain migration. Integrations with Pyth, Orca, and All Domains root the platform firmly within the broader Solana DeFi and tooling ecosystem.
