Rango Exchange is a universal cross-chain DEX and bridge aggregator that routes token swaps across 80+ blockchains by connecting users to liquidity from more than 120 DEXs, bridges, and aggregators through a single interface—with Solana among its highest-volume chains since launch.

How Rango Works

Rango operates as an aggregation and routing layer rather than a traditional DEX or bridge. When a user or developer requests a swap, Rango's routing engine queries multiple bridge and DEX adapters simultaneously in a quote-then-execute model, returning competing route options ranked by output, cost, and speed. The user signs once; Rango's smart contracts orchestrate the full multi-hop execution, which may involve several underlying bridges and DEXs without requiring the user to manage each step manually.

The platform supports single-step on-chain swaps within one chain and multi-step cross-chain transfers, often combining a DEX swap on the source chain, a bridge transfer, and a DEX swap on the destination chain in a single user action. An intent protocol layer coordinates a solver network for cross-chain outcomes, improving settlement times on routes that support it.

Key Features

Smart routing: Rango queries all integrated liquidity sources at quote time and returns a ranked list of routes. Users can filter by best output, lowest fees, or fastest settlement. The aggregator fee is 0.1%–0.3% on most routes, layered on top of underlying bridge and DEX fees, which are displayed transparently before execution.

Gasless execution: On Solana and EVM chains, Rango offers gasless swap execution, removing the need for users to hold native gas tokens before bridging assets to a new chain.

Integrator controls: Developers integrating Rango's API can whitelist specific bridges via a swappers parameter on the quote endpoint, restricting which underlying protocols Rango routes through. This is important for production applications managing risk exposure to lower-audited bridge protocols.

Developer tooling: Three integration paths are available—a JavaScript SDK, a customizable embeddable widget, and a full REST API. All are non-custodial and require no KYC. A social login feature launched in early 2026 enables wallet creation via existing social accounts, targeting onboarding for users unfamiliar with self-custody.

Settlement speed: Varies by bridge type. Intent-based bridges settle in 30 seconds to 2 minutes; wrapped-asset bridges in 2–7 minutes; canonical chain bridges in 10–30 minutes. Rango surfaces expected completion time at the quoting stage.

Solana Ecosystem Fit

Solana is consistently one of Rango's three highest-volume chains alongside Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain. Rango's routing supports all Solana-native token swaps and cross-chain transfers between Solana and EVM chains, Bitcoin, Cosmos, and others. The integration with Relay Protocol added high-demand pathways specifically for EVM-to-Solana routes. Gasless execution on Solana is available, enabling users to bridge assets to Solana without needing SOL for gas upfront.

For Solana-native projects and wallets looking to offer cross-chain functionality, Rango's widget and API represent a ready-made integration path that avoids maintaining separate bridge and DEX routing infrastructure.

Security and Audits

Rango's routing smart contracts have gone through two rounds of independent audits covering 150+ EVM contracts. The platform reports zero exploits and zero user-fund losses since launching in August 2021—across $8.87B+ in total processed volume as of mid-2026.

The platform is non-custodial: user funds never pass through Rango custody, only through the underlying bridge and DEX smart contracts. Rango's own contracts act as orchestrators and adapters. Analysis from eco.com notes that while Rango's own contracts are audited, the audit quality of each underlying integrated bridge varies; production integrators are advised to configure bridge whitelists based on their own risk policies.

Team and Funding

Rango was founded in August 2021. The team has not been publicly named in official communications. No external funding rounds have been announced publicly, and there is no native Rango token. The project generates revenue through its aggregator fee applied to swap volume.
