    Product Keynote: Meridian

That's the vision behind Meridian, a groundbreaking new investing interface announced at Solana Breakpoint 2025 that promises to transform how everyday users interact with digital assets through the power of artificial intelligence and natural language processing. ... Benedict Brady, a five-year veteran of quantitative trading, took the stage at Breakpoint 2025 to unveil Meridian—an AI-native investing platform designed specifically for the Solana ecosystem.

About

Meridian

Meridian was a self-custody cryptocurrency wallet and AI investing agent built on the Solana network, developed by MRDN Labs, Inc. The platform launched as a mobile application for iOS with the tagline "Your money. Your language." — an expression of its core design philosophy: letting everyday investors interact with the blockchain through plain-language conversation rather than technical interfaces.

What Meridian Did

Meridian combined a non-custodial Solana wallet with a built-in AI agent that could interpret and execute natural-language investment instructions. Users could tell the agent what they wanted to do — "Buy $100 of Bitcoin every Friday," "Put $500 into the three largest crypto assets," or "How is my portfolio doing this month?" — and Meridian would handle the transaction routing, execution, and reporting.

The platform supported trading of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana (SOL), and hundreds of additional tokens available on the Solana network. Beyond crypto, Meridian also offered access to tokenized representations of traditional equities and ETFs, allowing users to trade onchain versions of stocks around the clock without the restrictions of conventional market hours.

Key Features

Zero-fee trading. Meridian charged no commissions on trades. The platform routed orders through decentralized exchange aggregators on Solana to find the best available price, though market-based spreads applied depending on liquidity conditions.

Self-custody. Meridian never held user funds and never had access to private keys. Users maintained complete control of their assets at all times, consistent with the broader Solana ecosystem's emphasis on non-custodial infrastructure.

Conversational portfolio management. Rather than navigating traditional charting interfaces, users could ask the AI agent for personalized portfolio summaries, allocation recommendations, and market context. The agent was designed to surface insights proactively, not only in response to direct queries.

Dollar-cost averaging. Recurring investment strategies could be set up through simple spoken or typed instructions, removing the friction of manually scheduling periodic purchases.

Tokenized assets. The platform integrated access to onchain representations of equities and ETFs, giving users a single interface for both crypto and traditional-asset exposure.

Technical Foundation

Meridian's trading infrastructure relied on Solana's DEX aggregation layer to route orders across liquidity sources and minimize slippage. The wallet component used embedded wallet technology powered by Privy, a Web3 authentication and wallet infrastructure provider later acquired by Stripe. The AI agent layer interpreted user intent and converted it into executable Solana transactions.

The iOS application launched in beta on the App Store in late 2024 and reached version 1.0.64 before being discontinued. Ratings from early users averaged 5 out of 5 stars across 89 reviews, with frequent praise for its beginner-friendly interface and the accuracy of its Solana ecosystem knowledge base.

Shutdown

Meridian announced on May 1, 2025, that it would be shutting down the product. Wallet functionality was decommissioned on May 15, 2025. Users retained the ability to withdraw their funds indefinitely through the Privy Home Hub, Privy's centralized dashboard for managing embedded wallets across applications. No specific reason for the closure was disclosed publicly.

At the time of its shutdown, Meridian represented an early attempt to abstract away the complexity of on-chain investing through natural language interfaces — a category that continued to expand across the Solana ecosystem after the product closed. No native token was issued.
