About

MaiCoin

MaiCoin Group is Taiwan's longest-running and largest regulated cryptocurrency company. Founded in 2013 under its parent entity Modernity Financial Technologies Co., Ltd., the group has grown from a single retail brokerage into a full-suite digital asset ecosystem serving individual investors, institutional clients, and enterprise partners across Taiwan and internationally. As of 2025, the group reports more than one million registered users and an average annual transaction volume exceeding $12 billion USD.

Two Platforms, One Group

MaiCoin Group operates two distinct trading products that serve different investor profiles.

MaiCoin is the retail-facing brokerage. It targets newcomers and casual investors with a simple interface for buying and selling cryptocurrencies using New Taiwan Dollars (TWD). It supports recurring purchase plans, yield services, and fiat on- and off-ramps with same-day TWD processing. This makes it one of the few compliant entry points for Taiwan residents to move between local fiat and digital assets.

MAX Exchange is the professional trading venue. Launched in 2018, MAX offers a fuller feature set including spot trading, strategy bots, grid trading, crypto borrowing, and staking. MAX lists more than 50 digital assets and pairs them against TWD and major stablecoins. The platform uses a maker/taker fee model — 0.05% and 0.15% respectively — with discounts available through the native MAX Token. Recent listings announced via the exchange's official account include NEAR, ONDO, AAVE, TAO, UNI, and XLM, indicating the exchange continues to expand its supported asset base.

Solana on MAX

MAX integrates Solana natively across multiple product lines.

Spot trading: SOL is listed on both MaiCoin (as a retail buy/sell asset against TWD) and MAX Exchange (against TWD and stablecoins), giving Taiwan-based investors straightforward fiat-to-SOL access through a regulated local venue.

On-chain staking: MAX offers Solana staking directly through its mobile app. Users delegate SOL to validators via Solana's native Proof-of-Stake mechanism, with staking rewards paid out weekly every Monday. There is no lock-up enforced by MAX — users can unstake at any time, subject to the on-chain unbonding period. MAX collects 10% of generated staking yield as a service fee. Users who choose to receive their staking rewards denominated in MAX Token qualify for zero staking fees, creating an incentive to engage with the platform's utility token.

SPL token support: MaiCoin has listed Solana-native SPL assets including GMT (Green Metaverse Token) and SPL-USDC alongside SOL itself. The exchange's support documentation confirms that Solana blockchain deposits cover all three assets.

Extended Products

Beyond trading and staking, MaiCoin Group operates several adjacent services:

Qubic Wallet is a non-custodial Web3 wallet that uses social login rather than traditional seed phrases, lowering the key-management barrier for mainstream users. It supports multichain assets and serves as the group's consumer bridge into DeFi and NFTs.

MaiCoin Pay enables merchants to accept cryptocurrency payments, supporting stablecoins and major digital assets. It positions the group in the payments infrastructure layer rather than purely in trading.

AMIS Custody Solution offers enterprise-grade blockchain infrastructure with customizable wallet architectures for institutional clients. This B2B arm serves over 2,000 enterprise clients and forms a meaningful part of the group's revenue outside retail trading.

MaiCoin Business provides OTC brokerage and institutional custody services, catering to corporate clients that need larger block trades or regulated custody arrangements.

Qubic Creator and MaiCoin Commonwealth are the group's NFT-related products — a general NFT issuance platform and a public-welfare-focused NFT platform respectively.

Compliance and Regulatory Status

MaiCoin Group sits at the regulated end of the Taiwan crypto market. Key compliance credentials include:

  • FSC AML Registration: The group completed Anti-Money Laundering registration with Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission. Under Taiwan's first dedicated crypto statute, passed in mid-2026, MaiCoin Group is among the incumbents that received a phased runway to file for a full operating licence.
  • ISO 27001: The group holds ISO 27001 information security certification for three consecutive years, covering systems and data protection practices.
  • FATF Travel Rule: MAX Exchange implements the FATF Travel Rule, collecting counterparty information on qualifying transactions to comply with international AML standards.
  • Fiat Trust Custody: MaiCoin pioneered what it describes as the world's first fiat trust custody model for a crypto exchange — a structure that holds TWD deposits in trust, separating client funds from operational capital.

Leadership and Team

Alex Liu serves as CEO of MAX Exchange, directing the platform's product development, security posture, and regulatory relationships. MaiCoin Group holds more than 50 proprietary technology patents, reflecting sustained investment in internally developed blockchain infrastructure rather than pure off-the-shelf integration.

Solana Fit

MaiCoin Group's relevance to the Solana ecosystem comes primarily through its role as a regulated on-ramp and staking intermediary for Taiwan-based Solana holders. For investors in Taiwan — a market where direct access to international exchanges can be legally and practically complex — MAX provides a domestic, FSC-compliant path to acquire SOL, stake it for yield, and hold SPL tokens such as GMT and USDC on-chain. The group's non-custodial Qubic Wallet also supports multichain assets, offering a path for MAX users to move assets off-exchange into Web3 applications. As Taiwan formalizes its crypto regulatory framework through 2026, MaiCoin Group's early compliance posture positions it as the most established local venue with verifiable Solana integration.
