Hyphe
Digital asset liquidity infrastructure for regulated financial institutions.
On-chain activity
Prime-Access
Prime-Access is a trading API for institutions to fetch prices, request quotes, and execute orders via REST and WebSocket, with sandbox and production environments and 24/7 availability.
Hyphe
Hyphe is a German-regulated B2B liquidity provider that enables banks, brokers, and asset managers to offer digital asset trading to their customers through API-driven infrastructure. Rather than serving retail traders directly, Hyphe sits behind the scenes as a liquidity layer that institutions plug into — handling pricing, order execution, and settlement while the institution maintains its own client-facing brand and experience.
Core Products
Hyphe's platform centres on three components:
Prime-Access is the primary trading API. It provides pricing and order execution access across more than 100 digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Institutions use it to manage customer order flow, monitor positions, and handle reconciliation and settlement through a single secure connection. Hyphe operates its own proprietary liquidity pool — executing orders off-exchange to offer tight bid/ask spreads while reducing counterparty exposure to public exchanges.
Clear-Calculus is Hyphe's fair market pricing engine. It continuously measures price signals and market depth across sources to calculate what Hyphe describes as a fair market value, then streams that price to institutional clients. This allows banks and brokers to build their own customer-facing pricing models on a transparent, methodologically consistent foundation, rather than simply passing through exchange prices.
Fluid-Integration is the onboarding and integration framework. It structures the technical and operational work of connecting an institution to Hyphe's infrastructure into three phases — onboarding, setup, and testing — preceded by a free feasibility assessment. The goal is to reduce the implementation burden for institutions that lack in-house crypto infrastructure expertise.
Who Hyphe Serves
Hyphe targets three segments of the European financial services market:
- Banks: Retail banks fielding customer demand for digital asset access, corporate banks providing B2B2C trading services to crypto fintechs, and custodian banks expanding their product coverage.
- Brokers: Firms de-risking existing crypto trading operations, equities brokers adding digital assets for clients seeking portfolio diversification, and platforms outsourcing order management software.
- Asset Managers: Fund managers with investor appetite for digital assets, firms structuring crypto-focused funds, and managers issuing digital asset-backed exchange-traded products.
No Custody Model
Hyphe deliberately does not offer custody services. Instead, it advises clients to select appropriate external custodians separately, arguing this reduces risk concentration and lets each institution choose a custody solution that fits its existing operational and regulatory structure. In practice, Hyphe's Launchpad offering — developed with custody provider Tangany and order management system Trever — bundles Hyphe's liquidity with third-party custody and OMS in a single integration, giving smaller institutions a path to launch without assembling the stack piece by piece.
Regulatory Standing
Hyphe Markets GmbH holds two key licences. It received a securities trading licence under Germany's Investment Firms Act (WpIG) from BaFin in 2023, and in November 2025 it obtained a licence under the EU's Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCAR), completing a regulatory process the company began in 2021. The firm also holds ISO 27001 certification for information security management.
Partnerships and Integrations
Hyphe has built integrations with a range of institutional infrastructure providers. In 2023 it connected to both the Wyden trading technology platform and the Trever order management system, giving institutional clients using those OMS products access to Hyphe's liquidity. A banking services agreement with Deutsche Bank was also established in 2023.
On the distribution side, Bitvavo launched a retail trading product in Germany in August 2024 — "Bitvavo powered by Hyphe" — giving German retail customers access to around 300 crypto assets via Hyphe's underlying infrastructure. A partnership with Volks- und Raiffeisenbanken brought regulated crypto trading access to Germany's regional cooperative banking sector. Hyphe also established trading solutions for VanEck's digital currency exchange-traded products beginning in 2021.
In July 2026, Baader Bank — a leading European securities and banking services provider — acquired a 9.9% stake in Hyphe, marking the company's first significant institutional investor.
Tokenised Securities
In September 2025, Hyphe announced what it described as Germany's first tokenised zero-coupon Bitcoin bond — a security offering Bitcoin price exposure with a yield component. The product was positioned as the first step in a broader push into tokenised financial instruments.
Solana Relevance
Solana is among the more than 100 digital assets supported on Prime-Access. Financial institutions that integrate Hyphe's trading API can offer their customers Solana exposure within a regulated, BaFin-supervised framework without building direct exchange connectivity themselves.
