Gateway.fm is a blockchain infrastructure company that gives enterprises and Web3 developers managed access to high-performance RPC nodes, rollup deployment tooling, and validator services without requiring them to run and maintain that infrastructure themselves. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Norway, the company has positioned itself as an operating layer for regulated onchain finance, targeting banks, fintechs, and protocol teams.

RPC Access Across Ethereum and EVM Networks

The company's core product is its RPC service, which provides API access to blockchain nodes across Ethereum, Gnosis, Stellar Soroban, Polygon zkEVM, and Palm. Infrastructure spans five regions including Germany, Singapore, Sweden, and Switzerland. A free public tier supports up to 30 requests per second (roughly 75 million monthly calls), while a paid tier raises that to 50 requests per second with WebSocket support. Enterprise customers receive unlimited requests, multi-region routing, and a 99.9% uptime SLA; a dedicated cluster option allows deployment on client premises.

The company states its RPC service handles more than 20 billion requests per month across its customer base.

Presto: Rollup Deployment as a Service

Gateway's second major product is Presto, a platform-as-a-service offering that lets teams deploy their own Layer 2 rollups and validiums without building the underlying stack. Presto targets projects that want a zkEVM-compatible execution environment but do not want to manage node software, sequencers, or data availability infrastructure directly. The platform supports Polygon CDK and Optimism configurations and integrates with Celestia for data availability.

Enterprise customers receive custom configuration options, dedicated support, and contractual SLAs beyond what the self-serve paid plan offers. Gateway states it has more than 50 Presto partners. Notable deployments include Witness Chain (Layer 2 zkEVM), Haust Network (AggLayer CDK integration for DeFi), and Wirex's WPay payments product.

CDK-Erigon Node Implementation

A third technical offering is CDK-Erigon, a high-performance node implementation optimized for Polygon zkEVM protocol networks. Gateway developed this alongside its broader CDK tooling work and it is available through the docs as part of Presto's infrastructure.

Enterprise Solutions and Financial Infrastructure

Gateway has expanded its product set toward regulated financial use cases. The platform now includes production-ready components for stablecoin issuance, real-world asset tokenization, payment rails, neobank infrastructure, and credit and lending engines. An AI Firewall product targets agent permissioning for automated onchain transactions, allowing institutions to set boundaries on what AI-driven financial agents can do within their infrastructure.

Validator and Staking Services

Under the product name "Grow," Gateway runs Ethereum staking validator infrastructure for institutional customers. The company states that more than one billion dollars in institutional assets are staked through its infrastructure.

Funding and Backers

Gateway raised $4.6 million in seed funding in February 2023, led by Lemniscap, with participation from the Fantom Foundation, Unstoppable Domains Ventures, CMT Digital Ventures, and The LAO DAO. The company also lists L1D, Very Early, TRK Group, and Folius Ventures among its backers. Cuautemoc Weber is identified as co-founder and CEO.

Security and Compliance

Gateway has undergone an audit by PwC and holds ISO/SOC certification, which it highlights for enterprise and financial institution customers where compliance requirements govern vendor selection. The company names Microsoft and Ernst & Young among organizations that use its infrastructure.

Network Focus

Gateway's RPC service and Presto tooling are centered on Ethereum and EVM-compatible chains. The platform does not document Solana support as of mid-2026. Teams building on EVM rollup stacks or requiring compliant managed node access for Ethereum-based applications are the primary intended users.
