Background

Originally founded in 2011 as FP Complete, a software consulting firm built around functional programming and Haskell, the company pivoted fully into Web3 and rebranded as FP Block in January 2024. The Problem FP Block Solves

Building on a shared blockchain imposes real costs: variable gas fees, execution limits, block time delays, and the need to adapt product logic to fit infrastructure constraints rather than the other way around. The Kolme Framework

The framework's architecture rests on three components:

Dedicated application blockchains. Every Kolme app operates on its own chain, eliminating congestion, throughput bottlenecks, and the fee volatility that plagues shared environments. Developers write application logic in Rust without smart contract restrictions, removing execution limits that would otherwise require workarounds.

Triadic security model. Three validator roles provide checks and balances. Listeners monitor external blockchain bridges for incoming activity. Processors execute transactions and produce blocks. Approvers authorize outgoing actions — such as withdrawals — before they settle on connected external chains. This separation prevents any single role from unilaterally controlling funds.

Multichain bridge contracts. Kolme applications stay isolated on their own chains but remain accessible to users through bridge contracts deployed on Solana, Ethereum, and NEAR. Users interact with familiar wallets on major chains; the bridge handles settlement without requiring them to switch ecosystems. Because Kolme applications continue processing even when a connected external chain experiences downtime, they are resilient to outages without halting operations.

Applications can also pull in external data — from oracles or public HTTP APIs — and store it on-chain with cryptographic signatures for verification, enabling price feeds, sports data, or any off-chain input without depending on a third-party oracle middleware layer.

Solana Expertise

FP Block's Rust-first culture translates directly to Solana, where programs are also written in Rust and performance characteristics demand low-level precision. The firm builds cross-chain Solana solutions including token bridges and lending protocols, and Kolme's bridge contracts natively connect to Solana, making it a natural settlement layer for Kolme-powered applications.
