CryptAPI

CryptAPI is a non-custodial cryptocurrency payment processing API that enables merchants and developers to accept digital asset payments without a custodian holding funds on their behalf. Founded in 2018, the platform forwards payments directly from payer to merchant wallet address, meaning CryptAPI never takes custody of funds at any point in the transaction flow.

How It Works

The core mechanism is a forwarding model built around a simple REST API that requires no registration or API key for basic use. To set up a payment, a merchant passes their destination wallet address and a callback URL to CryptAPI's /create/ endpoint. In response, the API returns a unique payment address specific to that transaction. When a buyer sends cryptocurrency to that address, CryptAPI automatically detects the incoming transaction, forwards the funds to the merchant's wallet minus the applicable fee, and fires a webhook callback to notify the merchant of payment status.

Webhook notifications can be delivered as GET or POST requests and optionally formatted as JSON. Custom parameters appended to the callback URL are preserved and echoed back with each webhook, making order reconciliation straightforward without maintaining separate state.

Additional API endpoints cover the full payment lifecycle: /info/ retrieves minimum transaction amounts for each supported asset, /convert/ converts fiat values to cryptocurrency equivalents, /qrcode/ generates embeddable QR codes for checkout flows, and /logs/ provides a payment history and webhook delivery audit trail.

Supported Blockchains and Tokens

CryptAPI supports 90+ cryptocurrencies across more than a dozen blockchain networks, including Layer 1 networks (Bitcoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Zcash, Ethereum, TRON, Solana), EVM-compatible networks (BNB Smart Chain, Arbitrum One, Polygon, Avalanche-C, Base, Optimism, Linea, Berachain, Monad), and stablecoins and tokens such as USDT, USDC, DAI, and PayPal USD.

Solana support includes SOL and a selection of Solana-based SPL tokens, including stablecoins such as USDC and USDT. The API ticker-based architecture means Solana tokens are accessed through the same endpoint structure as any other supported asset.

Integration Options

Beyond the raw API, CryptAPI provides open-source e-commerce plugins for the most common merchant platforms: WooCommerce (WordPress), Magento, OpenCart (OpenCart 4.x compatibility added in version 3.3.0, May 2026), PrestaShop (version 1.3.0 with security improvements, May 2026), and WHMCS (official plugin launched July 2026). Plugin source code is published on GitHub under the cryptapi organization. The platform also supports multi-address payment flows and can accept multiple token types within a single integration.

Fees and Pricing

CryptAPI charges a tiered percentage fee based on 30-day rolling volume: 1% for merchants processing under $5,000 per month, declining to 0.25% for those processing $10 million or more. There are no subscription fees, setup charges, or hidden costs. Because funds are forwarded non-custodially, the fee is deducted in-transit rather than invoiced separately. No KYC is required for crypto-only use.

Active Development

CryptAPI has maintained a consistent release cadence since its 2018 founding. As of mid-2026, the platform actively adds new blockchains and tokens: MetaMask USD (mUSD) support on Ethereum and Linea launched in July 2026, Zcash was integrated in June 2026, and Berachain support covering BERA, WETH, WBTC, and USDT launched in May 2026. Monad and Linea were added in late 2025. Plugin updates and blog posts confirm continued active maintenance.

Positioning Within the Solana Ecosystem

CryptAPI positions Solana as one of several supported Layer 1 networks. Merchants who want to accept SOL or SPL token payments use the same API and plugin infrastructure as they would for Bitcoin or Ethereum, with no Solana-specific setup required beyond specifying the correct ticker. This makes CryptAPI a practical option for multi-chain merchants who want to include Solana alongside other networks within a single payment integration.
