About

BTSE

BTSE (Buy, Trade, Sell, Earn) is a centralized cryptocurrency exchange launched in September 2018 that lists Solana (SOL) spot and SOL perpetual futures among its flagship markets, giving institutional and retail traders access to 150+ digital assets across spot, derivatives, and yield-bearing products on a single platform.

Company Background

BTSE is incorporated in Costa Rica and maintains operational offices in Taipei, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai. The platform employs approximately 300 staff and positions itself as a professional-grade exchange serving a global user base, with the notable exception of residents in the United States, Canada, and several other restricted jurisdictions. The exchange markets itself under the tagline "Investing Made Simple," emphasizing an accessible interface alongside deep product breadth. The platform has been operating continuously since its September 2018 launch.

Core Products

Spot Trading. BTSE supports more than 150 cryptocurrencies across 300+ trading pairs. Solana is listed as a featured asset alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum on the exchange main market pages, with a SOL/USD pair available for direct purchase. The All-in-One Order Book consolidates multiple spot pairs into a unified interface, reducing fragmentation when trading across base currencies. The platform reported $211 million in 24-hour trading volume across its markets.

Futures and Derivatives. The exchange offers two tiers of leveraged trading: perpetual futures contracts with up to 100x leverage, and dated futures with up to 20x leverage. SOL-PERP is one of the live perpetual contracts. BTSE also lists perpetuals on traditional financial instruments such as stock indices, broadening its appeal beyond pure crypto markets. The platform matching engine is rated to handle one million orders per second.

AutoTrader. BTSE includes a built-in automated trading bot system that allows users to deploy rule-based strategies without requiring external integrations. This targets traders who want systematic execution without the overhead of a dedicated algorithmic trading setup.

BTSE Earn. The Earn product line encompasses staking and lending options that generate yield on idle crypto holdings. An Auto Earn feature automatically deploys assets into yield-generating positions without manual rebalancing. Recent blog content from mid-2026 highlights this as one of the platform primary retail-facing growth features.

BTSE Card. The platform issues a Visa/Mastercard-backed debit card accepted in more than 210 countries, allowing users to spend cryptocurrency at point-of-sale terminals globally without first converting to fiat through a bank.

OTC and Express Buy. For larger trades or users who prefer price certainty, BTSE offers over-the-counter settlement and an Express Buy flow for immediate fills without interacting with the open order book.

Enterprise Solutions. BTSE provides white-label exchange software, wallet infrastructure, and payment gateway products for businesses seeking to build crypto-native financial services on proven backend technology.

The BTSE Token

The native BTSE token is the platform fee and loyalty mechanism. It was first issued on the Liquid Network, a Bitcoin sidechain developed by Blockstream, making it the first centralized exchange token to launch on Liquid. The token is also available on Ethereum (contract address: 0x666d875c600aa06ac1cf15641361dec3b00432ef). The project whitepaper specifies a hard cap of 200 million tokens, with a total supply of approximately 166 million and a buyback-and-burn program that incrementally reduces outstanding supply over time.

Staking tiers. BTSE operates an eight-tier staking program tied to token holdings. Staking as few as 100 BTSE eliminates maker fees entirely on all markets. Staking 20,000 BTSE at the top tier inverts the maker fee into a rebate of -0.003%, meaning the exchange pays the trader for providing liquidity. Standard spot maker/taker fees begin at 0.20% for both sides; the staking program can reduce fees by up to 60%. Futures fees start at 0.02% maker and 0.055% taker at the base tier.

Additional utility. Token holders are eligible for VIP tier upgrades based on combined trading volume and BTSE token holdings, higher referral commission rates on fees earned from referred users, and priority access to promotional campaigns and yield products.

Solana Ecosystem Fit

BTSE is not a Solana-native protocol. It does not deploy on-chain programs on the Solana network and does not interact with Solana DeFi directly. Its relevance to the Solana ecosystem is as a centralized trading venue: SOL/USD spot trading and SOL-PERP perpetual futures are among the exchange marquee listed assets, and the platform homepage explicitly highlights SOL alongside BTC and ETH as its three featured markets. For Solana holders outside the US, BTSE serves as a fiat on-ramp and off-ramp, provides leveraged exposure to SOL price action through SOL-PERP, and offers Earn yield products that can hold SOL in yield-generating positions.

Security and Transparency

BTSE maintains that 99% or more of platform assets are held in cold storage. The platform requires KYC verification for all users and enforces two-factor authentication. An internal insurance fund provides a backstop against liquidation shortfalls in the derivatives book. The exchange publishes Proof of Reserves attestations that allow users to verify their funds are included in the platform reported asset holdings. Security firm CertiK has assessed the exchange at 70 out of 100 on its scoring framework. No major exchange-level breach has been publicly reported since the platform 2018 founding.

Fee Structure

Standard spot and futures fees apply at the base tier: 0.20% maker/taker for spot; 0.02% maker and 0.055% taker for futures. Staking the BTSE token unlocks progressive discounts: staking 100 BTSE eliminates maker fees, while staking 20,000 BTSE generates a -0.003% maker fee rebate. Crypto deposits carry no platform fee. Fiat deposits may incur third-party bank charges. Crypto-to-fiat conversions carry no exchange fee. Withdrawal fees vary by asset.

Current Status

As of mid-2026, BTSE is an actively operating exchange. The platform continues to run promotional trading campaigns, including a $250,000 Double Rewards Plan in late July 2026, and publishes market analysis and trading education content on its blog. The official X/Twitter account posts daily educational content covering perpetual futures arbitrage, margin and leverage management, and candlestick chart patterns. New KYC compliance requirements were announced in October 2025, consistent with a platform actively managing its regulatory posture. The exchange remains inaccessible to US and Canadian residents.
