On-chain activity
AhoraCrypto Exchange
A regulated fiat-to-crypto exchange platform combining on-ramp, off-ramp, and swap services through a custodial wallet system. Users deposit euros via bank transfer, card, or digital payment methods to purchase cryptocurrencies that are sent to user-controlled wallets, or sell crypto back to fiat with same-day bank settlement. The platform routes all fiat-to-crypto purchases through USDC as an intermediary before converting to the target cryptocurrency, aggregates liquidity across decentralized exchanges for optimal swap pricing, and stores user funds in insured custodial wallets with optional semi-custody backup recovery.
AhoraCrypto
AhoraCrypto is a Spain-based non-custodial cryptocurrency on-ramp founded in February 2022. The platform lets users in the European Union purchase and sell cryptocurrencies using familiar fiat payment methods—credit and debit cards, SEPA bank transfers, Apple Pay, and Google Pay—while receiving assets directly into personal self-custody wallets. No crypto is ever held on behalf of the user; every transaction settles on-chain and lands in the wallet address the buyer specifies.
The Problem It Addresses
AhoraCrypto's founders built the service around a specific critique: despite being invented to enable decentralisation, the crypto industry had drifted toward centralised custodial platforms that behave much like traditional banks. AhoraCrypto positions itself as the corrective—a regulated access layer that delivers the convenience of a centralised interface without ever taking custody of user funds. The private keys stay with the buyer throughout.
Regulatory Status
AhoraCrypto, S.L. is registered as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) with the Bank of Spain under registration number D803, operating under Spanish Law 10/2010 on the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing. The company is supervised by SEPBLAC (the Executive Service of the Commission for the Prevention of Money Laundering) and maintains full GDPR compliance under Spanish Organic Law 3/2018. As an existing VASP registered before 30 December 2024, the company was eligible to continue operating under transitional provisions while EU member states implement the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), with the final authorisation deadline falling in mid-2026.
How the Platform Works
Purchases follow a four-step flow that the company states completes in under two minutes for most users. A buyer selects a cryptocurrency and fiat amount, pastes a wallet address on a supported network, completes a one-time identity check, and pays via their chosen method. The crypto is then broadcast on-chain directly to the provided wallet. There is no intermediate custody step.
Identity verification is required once and typically resolves in minutes, using government-issued ID plus biometric proof-of-life checks. Users who complete basic KYC can transact up to €1,000 per purchase; fully verified accounts access higher limits through direct arrangement with support. The platform's minimum purchase is €25.
Assets and Networks
The platform supports over 50 cryptocurrencies across more than 15 blockchain networks. Supported chains include Solana, Ethereum, Bitcoin, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, Base, TON, Hedera, Monad, Near, Tron, and Litecoin. Accepted fiat currencies span EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, CZK, PLN, SEK, DKK, and NOK.
For Solana specifically, users paste any SOL-compatible wallet address—Phantom, Solflare, and Backpack are explicitly supported—and SOL is delivered directly to that address after payment clears. Wrapped SOL on BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) is also available as an alternative for users who need it on that network.
Fees and Pricing
AhoraCrypto charges a flat 0.99% commission on all transactions with no hidden spread or markup. Fees imposed by individual payment processors (card networks, SEPA infrastructure) are disclosed separately before confirmation, so the buyer sees a full cost breakdown before committing. The platform states its all-in price beats competitors on 90% of transactions.
B2B Integration Layer
Beyond the consumer interface, AhoraCrypto offers a white-label widget and a REST API that allows third-party platforms to embed fiat on-ramp functionality. Integrating partners earn a fee-sharing commission on transactions routed through their implementation. GT3 Dex is cited as an integration case study on Circle's Alliance Directory, where AhoraCrypto is listed as a partner—an integration that brought fiat on-ramp access to a mobile DeFi product. The platform also holds membership in Circle's Alliance Program and supports USDC across multiple networks.
Security Architecture
The platform uses TLS 1.3 for data in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest. Two-factor authentication is required on logins and key operations. Transactions are verified on-chain before completion. The company has passed external penetration testing, an independent code review, and a third-party security audit. KYC infrastructure has a reported 99.97% uptime; the API targets 99.99%. AML controls include screening against UN, EU, and OFAC sanctions lists as well as Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) databases, with Travel Rule compliance for crypto transfers.
Partnerships and Ecosystem
AhoraCrypto's listed partnerships include Hedera, GT3, Kabila, HashPack, Reental, DOVU, Presearch, and Monad. The Circle Alliance membership reflects integration with USDC as a supported stablecoin across eligible networks.
Content and Community
The platform maintains an active English-language blog covering market fundamentals, regulatory developments, DeFi concepts, and asset-specific guides. Topics published as recently as July 2026 include MiCA's practical implications, tokenised US Treasury products, Bitcoin halving cycles, and Solana's Firedancer upgrade. Customer support is available 24/7 in English and Spanish via chat, email, phone, and social media. As of mid-2026, the platform reports over 7,000 registered users and 99.9% platform uptime.
