The total supply of tokenized equities on Solana reached $684 million on September 11, an all-time high that represents a 47% gain over three weeks, according to the official Solana account and confirmed by CoinFomania. Two platforms drove most of the growth: xStocks AAPLx$335.36+4.1%, the Backed Finance-powered tokenized equity platform operating through Kraken, and Backpack Securities, which routes new stock listings through the Sunrise liquidity protocol on Solana.

Tokenized Equity Supply Crosses $684M, Up 47% in Three Weeks

From a late-August baseline of $465 million, Solana's on-chain equity supply added more than $219 million in roughly three weeks. The milestone follows a period of consistent expansion: Solana has accounted for 95% of global on-chain equity trading volume through the middle of 2026, with $10 billion in tokenized stock trading logged in June alone.

A wave of new listings contributed to the September acceleration. Sunrise and Backpack Securities added 20 new tokenized stocks in September, pushing their combined catalog into the low thirties, per the same CryptoBriefing report. The additions include Micron Technology, Moderna, and Nike.

xStocks Tops $800M AUM with 700+ Listed Equities

The xStocks platform reported $800 million in assets under management in a September 11 post, a figure that spans its Solana and Ethereum deployments. A CryptoBriefing report from the same period placed total AUM at $790.9 million, with roughly two-thirds, or approximately $530 million, sitting on Solana.

xStocks launched June 30, 2025 with 60 tokenized assets. The catalog has since grown to more than 700 stocks and ETFs, backed 1:1 by real shares held in regulated custody. Cumulative transaction volume on the platform has exceeded $35 billion, and more than 200,000 registered holders now carry xStocks-issued tokens, according to CryptoBriefing. The platform is unavailable to US persons, and tokens carry no voting rights in underlying companies.

GRND Tokenized Grindr Stock Clears $14M in Two Hours, Surpassing NYSE

The supply record arrived alongside one of the more striking individual stock launches on Solana. Backpack Securities listed a tokenized version of Grindr stock (NYSE: GRND) on September 10, and within two hours of launch, the token generated $14.1 million in trading volume, more than Grindr's actual NYSE shares moved during that same window. SolanaFloor tracked cumulative GRND tokenized-stock volume at $31 million within 24 hours, against $16.6 million in NYSE volume for the period.

The volume comparison carries a structural asymmetry: Solana's tokenized equities trade 24 hours a day, seven days a week, while NYSE sessions run 6.5 hours on weekdays. The on-chain GRND token was accessible to non-US users globally through the full session. Still, the raw numbers show real demand from a user base that moved quickly into a newly listed instrument.

Volume tapered sharply after the initial burst, a pattern Backpack has seen across prior listings, including SPCX, the tokenized SpaceX stock, which generated $439 million in its first week before settling into a steadier pace.

How Backpack Securities and Sunrise Split the Infrastructure Work

Each Backpack Securities listing runs through a two-layer stack. "Backpack Securities handles custody and issuance of the tokens, while Sunrise coordinates onchain listing and liquidity formation across various DEXs and wallets in the Solana ecosystem," per CryptoBriefing's reporting. Backpack Securities is the regulated brokerage entity; Sunrise is the Wormhole Labs-initiated liquidity protocol that handles onchain routing.

Each tokenized equity carries a real claim on the underlying security, including dividend rights, and can be redeemed for conventional equity through Backpack Securities via ACATS and DTCC infrastructure. The model has allowed Backpack to capture trading volume disproportionate to its supply share: in Q2 2026, it held 5% of total on-chain tokenized stock supply while capturing 87% of SPCX trading volume, per prior Compass coverage.

Whether that volume concentration holds as the catalog grows past 30 listings is the open question. The $684M supply figure reflects accumulation across the full Solana ecosystem, not just Backpack's share, and xStocks' 700-asset catalog and $35 billion in cumulative throughput sit as the dominant weight on the supply side.
