Anza's Jetstreamer 0.7.0 adds a terminal UI, Old Faithful slot index format support, and thread work-stealing to the free Solana ledger history downloader.

Anza Releases Jetstreamer 0.7.0 with Terminal UI and Thread Work-Stealing
A steampunk machine labeled Jetstreamer streams glowing blockchain data into an Old Faithful archive cabinet, with Anza and Triton One logos on a brass plaque, set against a starfield with antique navigation instruments.

Anza shipped Jetstreamer 0.7.0 on August 6, adding five improvements to its free, open-source CLI for downloading Solana ledger history from Triton One's Old Faithful archive.

What Jetstreamer 0.7.0 Adds

Sam Gwilym, the Anza developer behind the tool, published the release tag at 17:44 UTC on August 6. His announcement listed five areas of change:

A terminal UI now displays real-time download progress, including throughput metrics, thread health, and system resource usage. Previous releases output progress as plaintext logs.

Old Faithful recently switched its archival lookup index to a slot-ranges format. Jetstreamer 0.7.0 adds support for that format; earlier versions could not complete downloads against it.

On parallel epoch downloads, the earlier fixed-thread model left CPU capacity unused when some threads finished before others. Thread work-stealing closes that gap by dynamically reassigning idle workers to in-flight tasks.

The release also ships several correctness fixes, including a bug in reverse-mode epoch re-emission when errors occurred at epoch tail boundaries.

One addition addresses Cloudflare R2 throttling. Old Faithful stores its archival CAR files in R2, which recently introduced rate-limiting changes; Jetstreamer 0.7.0 adapts its retry and backoff logic to work within those limits during large backfills.

How Old Faithful Provides Free Solana Ledger History Backfills

Triton One hosts Old Faithful, a public archive covering all Solana blocks and transactions from genesis to the current chain tip, derived from Google Bigtable records. The archive carries no access charge; Triton One absorbs the hosting cost as an ecosystem service.

Triton One co-founder Brian Long described the combination as "the fastest and cheapest way to download Solana ledger history," contrasting it with RPC providers that charge for archival access.

Jetstreamer downloads pre-built CAR (Content Addressable Archive) files, one per epoch, decodes them, and streams the data into ClickHouse or a local plugin system. The project documentation claims throughput above 2.7 million transactions per second on suitable hardware. One documented constraint: Old Faithful covers blocks and transactions but not account state updates, so Jetstreamer-based backfills do not include account-state history.

Validators and developers needing historical ledger data for indexing, research, or backfill work are the primary audience. The 0.7.0 release is available on GitHub under the Anza organization.
