Zettablock Data Platform
A data infrastructure platform providing blockchain data access through prebuilt APIs and customizable solutions.
ZettaBlock
ZettaBlock is a full-stack Web3 data infrastructure platform that indexes, decodes, and serves real-time on-chain and off-chain data across more than twelve blockchains — including Solana — and has subsequently pivoted under the brand Kite AI to build a Layer-1 blockchain purpose-built for the AI agent economy.
What ZettaBlock Does
ZettaBlock removes the infrastructure burden that typically prevents developers from building data-intensive Web3 applications. Rather than running their own indexing nodes or writing low-level parsing scripts, developers connect to ZettaBlock's platform to get decoded, queryable blockchain data delivered through managed APIs.
The platform covers Solana alongside Ethereum, Polygon, Sui, and nine or more other chains, indexing more than 290 billion transactions across 500-plus curated datasets. The service advertises 50-millisecond API latency and approximately three-second data freshness — a practical ceiling for real-time wallets, DeFi analytics dashboards, and NFT tracking tools.
Core Products
DataHub is ZettaBlock's library of pre-built APIs covering the most common Web3 data verticals: NFT ownership and activity, token balances and transfers, DeFi protocol state, transaction history, and network-level metrics. Developers can integrate DataHub endpoints directly without writing any indexing logic.
DevStudio is the platform's custom development environment. Teams that need data outside the pre-built catalog — bespoke on-chain signals, cross-chain joins, ML feature pipelines — use DevStudio to write and deploy custom indexed tables and low-latency APIs. ZettaBlock claims DevStudio indexes data roughly one hundred times faster than The Graph's subgraph approach. DevStudio also provides tooling to train and serve AI models against the indexed data, making it relevant for threat detection, user behavior analysis, and other ML-driven use cases.
Real-time streaming is a third delivery mode: ZettaBlock can push indexed events directly to a developer's database or message queue as new blocks are confirmed.
Solana Ecosystem Fit
Solana's high throughput makes raw RPC access impractical for applications that need to maintain state or run complex queries. ZettaBlock addresses this by indexing and decoding Solana's on-chain activity into structured datasets accessible through standard APIs, lowering the engineering cost of building analytics layers, trading bots, or monitoring tools on Solana without operating dedicated infrastructure. The platform's multi-chain indexing also enables cross-chain comparisons — tracking a token or protocol across Solana and EVM chains from a single query interface.
Customers and Use Cases
ZettaBlock's documented customers include EigenLayer, Sui, Polygon, Crypto.com, OpenSea, Chainlink, and Forta. These deployments span wallet integrations, DeFi analytics, NFT tracking, threat detection, and network health monitoring. The Sui integration involved a Google Cloud partnership routed through ZettaBlock, indicating the platform's role as a bridging layer between major Web2 cloud providers and on-chain data.
Team and Funding
ZettaBlock was founded in February 2022 by Chi Zhang and Scott Shi. Zhang holds a PhD in Machine Learning and AI from UC Berkeley and previously worked as a product manager at Databricks. Shi served as a tech lead at Uber and was a founding member of Salesforce Einstein AI. Both founders bring backgrounds at the intersection of large-scale data systems and machine learning.
The company raised a total of $33 million across multiple rounds. Investors include General Catalyst, Samsung NEXT Ventures, PayPal Ventures, 8VC, Alumni Ventures, Dispersion Capital, DNA Capital, and Essence Venture Capital.
Pivot to Kite AI
In November 2024, ZettaBlock announced the launch of Kite AI at DevCon, repositioning the company's mission around building decentralized infrastructure for AI agents to communicate, transact, and share data with one another.
Kite AI is being developed as an EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain. Its core technical differentiator is a novel consensus mechanism called Proof of Attributed Intelligence (PoAI), which tracks and rewards contributors based on how their models and datasets are actually used — rather than allocating rewards based on compute staked. The chain uses state channels for off-chain streaming micropayments and inter-agent messaging, targeting near-instant finality at low cost for high-frequency agent interactions.
In February 2025, Kite AI launched its first public testnet, named Aero, on the Avalanche network. The KITE token was listed on exchanges beginning October 30, 2025. An $18 million Series A — led by PayPal Ventures and General Catalyst, with Samsung Next, 8VC, and Alumni Ventures participating — brought the company's total disclosed funding to $33 million (announced September 2025).
The rationale for the pivot is that AI agents need a neutral, decentralized settlement layer to transact without relying on centralized intermediaries. CEO Chi Zhang described the vision as automated agent-to-agent commerce: a user instructing an AI that then queries inventory systems, negotiates prices, and completes purchases autonomously through on-chain settlement.
Tokens and Assets
ZettaBlock's original data infrastructure product carries no native token. The pivot to Kite AI introduced the KITE token, used within the Kite AI ecosystem to reward data and model contributors through the PoAI mechanism. KITE is not a Solana-native asset; Kite AI is being built as an independent EVM-compatible chain.
Security and Audits
No public security audits for ZettaBlock's data infrastructure have been identified in available sources. The enterprise offering includes data privacy controls and multi-tenant support, but specific audit details are not publicly documented.
Status
As of mid-2026, the ZettaBlock website and documentation remain accessible. The Twitter account (@ZettaBlockHQ) shows no recent activity, and the blog returns a server error. The company's active development focus has shifted to the Kite AI Layer-1. ZettaBlock as a standalone brand is effectively being subsumed into the Kite AI identity.
