ZettaBlock

TL;DR: ZettaBlock is a blockchain data platform. It indexes and decodes on-chain data across more than a dozen networks, Solana included, and serves it to developers through prebuilt APIs and custom GraphQL endpoints built from SQL. In September 2025 the company behind it announced it had rebranded to Kite and moved its focus to infrastructure for autonomous AI agents. The ZettaBlock website and developer docs are still online.

What ZettaBlock does

Pulling usable data out of a blockchain is harder than it looks. Raw blocks and transactions have to be decoded, reorganisations handled, prices and metadata joined in, and the whole thing kept fresh enough for a live application. Most teams building wallets, dashboards or DeFi front ends would rather not run that pipeline themselves.

ZettaBlock sells that pipeline as a managed service. Its website describes real-time decoded data across "12+ blockchains," more than 500 datasets, and over 290 billion transactions indexed from genesis. It advertises a median (p50) data freshness of about 3 seconds and API latency of around 50 milliseconds. An AWS Web3 blog post from May 2024 says ZettaBlock uses Amazon Managed Blockchain as part of its indexing foundation. The same post describes the platform as combining real-time and historical on-chain data with off-chain data, both public and private.

Products

The platform has two main parts.

DataHub is the data catalog. It holds indexed, decoded datasets plus a set of ready-made APIs. According to the developer documentation, the prebuilt endpoints cover:

• token and native balances for an address
• latest and historical (per-minute) token prices
• blocks, transactions and traces
• fungible, native, ERC-721 and ERC-1155 transfers
• token metadata lookup by contract address, name or symbol
• Ethereum Beacon Chain data such as validators, attestations, deposits, slashings and withdrawals

The homepage groups these as NFT, Token, Transaction, Balance and DeFi APIs.

DevStudio is for teams whose needs go beyond the prebuilt endpoints. Developers write SQL in a query builder, then publish the query as a GraphQL API. The AWS post notes that this lets developers work in SQL rather than nested GraphQL schemas while still getting a GraphQL endpoint as output. DevStudio also supports data transformation, filtering, streaming, analytics and model-training workflows. The docs list real-time triggers (webhooks) and importing your own data as advanced features.

ZettaBlock markets the service to enterprises, with SLAs and multi-tenant support. The docs also publish an llms.txt index so AI agents can read the documentation and OpenAPI endpoints directly.

Chains and Solana coverage

The site claims more than 12 supported chains. Solana, Ethereum, Polygon and Sui are the ones named on the homepage. The public docs index has endpoints for Ethereum (mainnet and Holesky), Sui (mainnet and testnet), Bitcoin, the Beacon Chain and Stellar. It has no Solana-specific endpoint pages.

The clearest Solana use case comes from a customer testimonial on the homepage, attributed to Galxe: "ZettaBlock has been super helpful in overcoming Galxe's challenges with frequent data reorgs and monitoring chains like Solana and Polygon." For Solana developers, ZettaBlock's role is as a third-party indexing and API layer. It is not a Solana-native protocol and has no on-chain program on the network.

Sui was a notable focus. In October 2024 the company announced an integration that streams Sui blockchain events into Google Cloud Pub/Sub, aimed at real-time uses such as fraud detection and gaming. Customers and partners named on the homepage and in company announcements include Sui, Polygon, Crypto.com, EigenLayer, Chainlink and Galxe.

Team and funding

ZettaBlock is operated by ZettaBlock Labs Inc., which is based in San Francisco. According to the Series A announcement, the co-founders are:

• Chi Zhang (CEO), who holds a PhD in AI from UC Berkeley and previously led core data products at Databricks
• Scott Shi (CTO), who built real-time AI infrastructure at Uber and was a founding engineer on Salesforce Einstein AI

The same release says the wider team includes engineers and researchers from Uber, Databricks, Salesforce and NEAR.

On September 2, 2025, the company announced an $18 million Series A co-led by PayPal Ventures and General Catalyst, bringing total funding to $33 million. Other participants included 8VC, Samsung Next, Avalanche Foundation, LayerZero, Hashed, HashKey Capital, Animoca Brands and Alchemy. CoinDesk reported the round.

From ZettaBlock to Kite

The Series A was announced under a new name. The company now calls itself Kite, and the announcement describes it as "formerly Zettablock." Kite builds identity and payment infrastructure for what it calls the agentic web, where AI agents authenticate themselves, follow programmable spending rules and settle microtransactions in stablecoins. Its launch products include:

• Kite AIR (Agent Identity Resolution)
• an Agent Passport for verifiable agent identity
• an Agent App Store where agents can find services

The company also announced integrations with Shopify and PayPal. Kite's own chain is a separate network, not part of ZettaBlock's data product. Blockchain.news reported that Kite launched mainnet as an Avalanche Layer 1 in late April 2026, after a testnet that processed more than 1.9 billion agent interactions.

The rebrand leaves the status of the ZettaBlock data product unclear. The zettablock.com site and docs still load, and the homepage still offers product links and sign-up. However, the footer copyright reads 2024, the company blog at blog.zettablock.com returned a server error when checked, and the @ZettaBlockHQ X account showed no posts in the last 90 days. Developers considering ZettaBlock for Solana or other chains should confirm directly with the team that it is still supported before building on it.
