About

The Tie

Founded in 2017 and headquartered in New York City, The Tie has built one of the most comprehensive institutional platforms in digital assets. The company delivers intelligence, infrastructure, advisory, and communication solutions for institutional participation in digital assets, serving approximately 500 clients including hedge funds, asset managers, and banks. The Tie has been net profitable since inception and raised a $9 million Series A in 2022 at a $100 million post-money valuation.

The Tie Terminal

The flagship product is the Tie Terminal, a professional workstation that aggregates and organizes data across virtually every dimension of the digital asset market. The platform offers more than 400 customizable widgets spanning breaking news, on-chain metrics, DeFi activity, sentiment analysis, derivatives data, equity information, staking metrics, and governance data. Real-time news is pulled from thousands of primary sources, including regulatory filings, SEC documents, central bank publications, crypto publications, and court cases.

The Terminal screener lets analysts filter hundreds of metrics across cryptocurrencies, with an asset taxonomy that categorizes tokens by sector, sub-sector, ecosystem, and attribute. A fundraising database tracks capital flows by sector and investor, giving institutions visibility into venture investment patterns and deal activity. Customizable alerts fire on metric triggers, breaking news, or on-chain activity.

Two AI-powered capabilities sit within the Terminal. The Narrative Engine monitors how market themes evolve across media over time, while the Custom Widget Studio lets users build AI-assisted dashboards without engineering support. Pre-built institutional-grade dashboards cover ecosystems including Solana, Tezos, and NEAR, and charting tools allow overlay of news events, token unlocks, and price movement to identify performance drivers.

Data APIs

For quantitative teams that need programmatic access, The Tie provides a Quant API at api-thetie.io/v3/quant. The API enforces a ceiling of 1,000 requests per minute across all endpoints, with access provisioned through dedicated API keys separate from Terminal credentials. The company positions these feeds as institutional-grade alternative data for systematic and quantitative investment strategies.

Staking Infrastructure

In January 2026, The Tie completed its first acquisition, purchasing Stakin in a cash-and-equity deal financed from its own balance sheet and operating profits. Stakin, originally founded and bootstrapped in Estonia, operates non-custodial staking infrastructure across more than 40 blockchain networks and entered the deal with more than $1 billion in assets under delegation. All 15 Stakin employees joined The Tie, and the unit continues to operate independently under The Tie infrastructure division. Combined with earlier organic development, The Tie manages over $1.5 billion in assets under delegation across its staking operations.

The Tie has also acquired Staking Rewards, the operator of StakingRewards.com, a widely used rating platform for institutional staking, on-chain yield, and DeFi risk management. The acquisition extends The Tie data coverage into the staking and yield space while the Staking Rewards brand is maintained independently to preserve its reputation for editorial independence across the industry.

Capital Markets and Advisory

In August 2026, The Tie expanded into investment banking through the launch of The Tie Capital LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary registered as a broker-dealer with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and admitted as a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Boomer Saraga serves as Managing Director.

The subsidiary advises crypto protocols, on-chain businesses, and digital asset service providers on private capital raises, buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisitions, protocol restructurings, token generation events, token-to-equity conversions, and other special situations. The launch brings The Tie into the full capital markets cycle for institutional digital assets, from data and research through deal execution.

The company has also acquired Liquidity Land, a yield marketplace that has facilitated approximately $100 million in DeFi fundraising, helping protocols grow liquidity and total value locked. A Corporate Access product connects protocols directly with institutional relationships within The Tie client network.

Communications

Bridge Messenger is The Tie secure messaging platform designed for verified institutional members. The product is built around compliance standards relevant to institutional participants, providing an alternative to general-purpose messaging tools for sensitive deal and research communications.

Events

The Tie organizes institutional-focused events alongside its software and data businesses. The Bridge is its flagship annual conference connecting senior executives from traditional financial institutions and digital asset firms; the fourth annual edition is scheduled for October 27, 2026 in New York City. The Enclave is a smaller, invitation-only retreat format. In 2026, The Tie hosted the Out East Summit, a multi-day gathering for institutional digital asset leaders covering topics including the convergence of AI and crypto infrastructure and the evolving regulatory landscape.

Strategic Direction

The Tie stated goal is to serve as a unified institutional gateway to digital assets. The combination of terminal data, API feeds, staking infrastructure, investment banking, and institutional events positions the company as a full-service operator rather than a single-product data vendor. The company has indicated plans to expand its infrastructure division further into decentralized bridging, oracle services, RPC infrastructure, and permissioned chain solutions.
