Quekz

A collection of 4,500 unique Quekz, swimming around on Solana.

About

Quekz

Quekz is an NFT collection of 4,500 duck avatars on Solana. It is not the Twitch and gaming handle of the same name. The ducks first sold in May 2022 under the name Duck Punkz Universe, and some marketplaces still list them as Crypto Duck Punkz. The project calls itself "community-run, charity minded, duck powered". There is no Quekz coin, no staking and no airdrop. Two things set Quekz apart. It moved to a newer NFT standard that enforces creator royalties, and it lets committed holders lock a batch of ducks in a vault to mint a rarer Noble NFT.

How Quekz NFTs work: 166 layers, traits and rarity ranks

Each Quekz NFT is one duck picture built from stacked art layers. The Quekz Layers page lists 166 layers in 11 groups, such as background, duck type, bill, eyes, clothing and hat. A duck's rarity depends on how uncommon its mix of layers is across the whole collection.

Clothing and hats are the largest groups, with 41 layers each. Duck types include oddities such as Skeleton, Zombie and Phoenix. A few "custom" layers were made by the community and added later.

You can check any duck before you buy it. The Browse page on quekz.com shows every duck with its number and rarity rank, and lets you filter by trait or sort from rarest down. Rarity rank is the site's own ordering. It tells you how unusual a duck is, and nothing about what someone will pay for it.

Quekz WNS migration: burning legacy ducks for royalty-enforced NFTs

Quekz moved to the WNS NFT standard on 15 August 2024. Holders burn their original duck and mint a new WNS copy of it in return. The project said it made the switch to get enforced royalties, which means the creator fee on each resale cannot be skipped by the marketplace. The swap happens at migrate.quekz.com, up to six ducks at a time.

WNS stands for Wen New Standard. It is an NFT format built on Solana's token extensions, a newer token program that lets rules such as royalties live inside the token itself. Developers linked to Jupiter's launchpad introduced it in January 2024, DL News reported. The original ducks used the older Metaplex format, which most Solana NFTs from 2022 share.

The migration matters to you as a buyer because it split the collection. The announcement thread said migrated Quekz, legacy Quekz and Nobles would each trade as a separate collection on Tensor TNSR$0.029+0.3%. A legacy duck and a migrated duck show the same art, but they sit in different listings with different prices. The migration page was still live in October 2026, so unmigrated ducks can still be converted.

Noble Quekz: locking 20 ducks to mint a Noble NFT

A Noble Quekz is a separate NFT that you mint by locking 20 migrated Quekz in a vault. You can undo it. Lock the Noble NFT back in and your ducks are released. The owner of a Noble can change its metadata, meaning its name and picture details, at any time.

Nobles are the top tier of the collection. The quekz.com homepage counted 94 of them in October 2026. The Pond, the community page on the site, profiles Noble holders and friends of the project. They include traders, developers and well-known people from Solana companies.

The site does not list any payment, vote or revenue share that comes with a Noble. You get standing in the community and an NFT you can customise. The cost is that your ducks stay locked while you hold it.

Quekz website tools: Browse, Changing Room, Layers and The Pond

The quekz.com site is a set of free tools built around the collection:

  • Browse lists every duck with trait filters and rarity ranks.
  • Layers shows all 166 art layers by group.
  • The Changing Room lets you mix layers into a new duck picture, randomise it and download the result. It makes an image, and it does not change any NFT you own.
  • The Pond profiles Nobles and friends of the project, and the homepage picks a "Quek of the Day".
  • Aligned lists projects Quekz says it works with, including Tensor, Loopscale and Helius hSOL$125.09-0.2%.
  • Cinema links to live duck streams. The site says it has no tie to the streamers.

Quekz also publishes its holder list. The snapshot repository on GitHub records which wallets hold migrated and legacy ducks each day. It was last updated on 28 September 2026 and has more than 1,000 commits.

Where to buy Quekz NFTs on Solana

Tensor is the marketplace the Quekz site sends buyers to. The ducks traded on Magic Eden ME$0.060+1.6% when they launched in 2022, and other marketplaces still carry listings. Before you buy, check which version you are looking at: migrated, legacy or Noble. If you buy a legacy duck, you can convert it yourself at the official migration page.

Is there a Quekz token or airdrop?

No. Quekz has no coin of its own. The official site describes only the NFT collection and names no token, staking programme or airdrop. If you see a "Quekz" coin, or Quekz NFTs on another chain, the official site does not mention them. Tokens with the Quekz name do appear in wallets on other networks, and unsolicited tokens of that kind are a common scam pattern.

Who Quekz is for

Quekz suits collectors who want a long-running Solana avatar with an active community and no financial promises. It fits you if you like the art, want to take part in the social side, and can accept that the NFT's price depends only on what the next buyer will pay.

It is a poor fit if you want yield, a token or governance rights. Quekz offers none of them. Nobles are for committed holders only, because one Noble ties up 20 ducks.

Quekz risks: split listings, no published audit and self-reported figures

The main risks with Quekz are thin trading, unaudited tooling and claims you cannot check. One point on each:

  • Trading is split across three collections. Buyers and sellers are divided between legacy, migrated and Noble listings, so each market is thinner than the 4,500 supply suggests.
  • The tooling has no published audit. We found no audit or technical documentation for the migration tool or the Noble vault, and the WNS code repository labels the standard as an alpha version. Burning a legacy duck and locking 20 ducks in a vault both rely on that code.
  • WNS is a newer format than Metaplex. Check that your wallet and marketplace handle WNS NFTs before you migrate.
  • The charity total is self-reported. The site says more than $30,000 has been donated, without a list of donations.
  • Third-party data is uneven. Forbes's tracker, for example, lists 4,420 items first minted in 2023, while the official site says 4,500 and the collection sold out in 2022.
  • No team is named. The site says the collection is "built by the community, for the community" and does not say who controls the creator wallets or the website.

Quekz history: from Duck Punkz Universe to WNS

Quekz began as Duck Punkz Universe. The project's X account said the mint had sold out on 17 May 2022, and the ducks were trading on Magic Eden the same day. The collection later took the Quekz name. The old names still show up in marketplace web addresses.

In August 2024 Quekz started the WNS migration and brought in Noble NFTs. A month later it helped host a meet-up in Singapore on the first day of the Solana Breakpoint conference, with Loopscale and Meteora. The website and the daily holder list were both still being kept up in autumn 2026.
