Motif AI is an AI-powered wealth management platform that replaces manual portfolio decisions and expensive advisory relationships with conversational AI agents that build, optimize, and monitor personalized digital asset portfolios for individual investors and financial institutions alike.

The Problem

Accessing sophisticated, personalized investment advice has long been out of reach for most retail investors. Traditional wealth managers require high minimum balances, charge substantial fees, and cannot scale individualized attention to millions of clients. In crypto and on-chain finance, the problem is compounded: DeFi protocols offer yield opportunities but demand technical fluency, and trading bots optimize for short-term execution rather than long-term wealth-building. Motif targets this gap, bringing the depth of institutional advisory to individual on-chain investors through AI.

For financial institutions, the challenge is symmetric: delivering continuous, personalized market intelligence to large client bases without proportional headcount growth, while meeting regulatory suitability standards like MiFID II.

Core Mechanism

Motif's primary consumer-facing product centers on Hopper, an autonomous AI wealth manager agent. Rather than filling out a risk questionnaire or selecting from a menu of pre-built portfolios, users interact with Hopper conversationally — stating goals such as wanting a low-risk position with high-yield stablecoin returns — and the agent constructs an allocation strategy in response. Hopper handles ongoing portfolio management autonomously, including rebalancing and macroeconomic adjustment, without requiring users to execute individual trades.

Under the hood, Motif's intelligence layer relies on a proprietary system called Motif Clarity, launched in May 2026. Clarity replaces conventional retrieval-augmented generation pipelines with a temporal knowledge graph that tracks how financial markets, assets, news events, and relationships between them evolve over time. Motif describes this as Contextual Edge Enrichment: enriching nodes in the knowledge graph with time-aware connections that capture why an asset is moving, not just that it is moving. This architecture allows the platform to generate investment rationales that incorporate macroeconomic context, sector dynamics, and individual user portfolio state simultaneously.

On the enterprise side, Motif operates a three-agent stack available to fintechs, neobanks, and wealth management platforms:

• Market Insights Agent: Monitors market trends and explains movements to individual clients through their preferred channel — chat, email, or dashboard — tailored to each client's existing portfolio.
• Profiling Agent: Builds adaptive investor profiles through ongoing conversation rather than static intake forms. Profiles evolve as market conditions and user goals change, and the system supports MiFID II suitability compliance requirements.
• Investment Agent: Generates personalized portfolio recommendations with transparent reasoning about allocations, risk exposure, and cost trade-offs.

The entire system operates as what Motif terms an analytics agent swarm, processing inputs through three stages: ingestion of news, market data, and social signals; curation through quality filtering and temporal weighting; and retrieval and simulation to generate user-specific responses from the curated graph.

Products

Consumer App (motifapp.ai): A mobile application available on Android and iOS (via TestFlight for beta users), where individual investors interact with Hopper to access AI-driven portfolio construction and management. The platform focuses on on-chain yield-bearing strategies, combining protocol exposure across assets including stablecoins and market-rate instruments. Portfolios are designed for long-term wealth building rather than short-term trading.

B2B White-Label Platform (chatwithmotif.com): An API and embedded advisory layer that fintechs and wealth managers can integrate into their own products. The platform includes white-labeled portfolio dashboards, asset detail pages, personalized market intelligence delivery, and a reporting layer. A Founding Partner Program was active with limited spots as of mid-2026.

Solana Ecosystem Fit

Motif was selected for Ignition Season Four, the Singapore-based accelerator run by Superteam SG, which admits only eight crypto startups per cohort alongside mentors and founders from leading Solana projects including Sanctum, Meteora, and Jupiter. The program provides mentorship, resources, and deep integration into the Solana builder network, placing Motif within the Solana ecosystem as it develops its on-chain wealth management infrastructure.

The platform's focus on yield-bearing portfolio strategies and autonomous on-chain execution is well-aligned with Solana's DeFi ecosystem, where fast finality, low transaction costs, and a mature protocol landscape make real-time portfolio rebalancing and stablecoin yield strategies operationally viable.

Team

Motif was founded in December 2024 by Mario Leoni and Andras Hejj, both alumni of Pier Wallet, a digital asset custody and wallet product. The founders bring backgrounds as fintech builders with prior experience inside wealth management and digital asset platforms. The company is incorporated in Zug, Switzerland, and has a VASP (Virtual Asset Service Provider) regulatory application in progress, reflecting its intent to operate as a regulated financial services entity.

Backing and Recognition

Motif's pre-seed round was backed by Menyala, Temasek's web3 venture builder, and Liminal, a Temasek-founded founders' studio. Total disclosed funding stands at approximately one million dollars across two rounds. The company was also accelerated by The Fintechers and named a finalist at the 11th European Blockchain Convention Startup Battle in Barcelona. In 2026, Motif won the UN:BLOCK Pitch Competition.

Security and Infrastructure
