Mesh Platform
Mesh Platform provides embedded financial infrastructure through APIs connecting to hundreds of exchanges and wallets. The platform includes Mesh Pay for crypto payment processing with SmartFunding technology, Mesh Deposit for embedded crypto deposits with intelligent routing, Mesh Payout for automated disbursements, Mesh Portfolio for real-time account aggregation and data analytics, Mesh Ramp for fiat-to-crypto conversion, and Mesh Verify for wallet ownership verification and compliance tools.
Mesh Connect
Mesh — originally launched as Mesh Connect — is a global crypto payments infrastructure company founded in 2020 and led by co-founder and CEO Bam Azizi. Operating at meshpay.com (the original meshconnect.com domain redirects there), the platform functions as a network of networks: it connects over 300 wallets, exchanges, and financial platforms through a single integration so businesses can accept cryptocurrency payments and settle in their preferred currency without managing blockchain complexity themselves.
The Fragmentation Problem
Crypto payments have historically splintered along asset, chain, and custody lines. A merchant wanting to accept Bitcoin, Solana, and stablecoins from users holding funds across Coinbase, MetaMask, Phantom, or OKX would traditionally need separate integrations for each source and an independent settlement solution for each asset. Mesh was built to collapse that complexity into one API layer, abstracting away chain differences, conversion mechanics, and custody relationships so neither the merchant nor the developer has to solve them independently.
SmartFunding: Any Asset, Any Destination
The core product innovation is SmartFunding, Mesh's proprietary payments orchestration engine. SmartFunding allows a buyer to initiate a payment using any supported cryptocurrency — including Bitcoin, Ether, SOL, or any of 100+ supported tokens — while the merchant receives instant settlement in a stablecoin of their choice (USDC, PYUSD, USDT, or RLUSD) or in local fiat currency. The conversion, chain routing, and compliance handling all occur automatically within the Mesh network.
SmartFunding can draw on up to five funding sources simultaneously within a single transaction, combining held token balances, available cash, and linked payment methods. This flexibility means users rarely hit a wrong-asset failure at checkout — a friction point that has historically suppressed crypto payment adoption among merchants.
Six Product Modules
Mesh's platform is organized around six functional modules:
- Payments: Accept crypto from any supported wallet or exchange; merchants settle in stablecoins or fiat
- Deposits: Enable users to fund accounts or in-app balances from 300+ external sources
- Verification: KYC and compliance tooling integrated into the connection flow
- Payouts: Distribute funds programmatically to wallets or exchange accounts
- Stablecoin Settlement: Direct settlement infrastructure across USDC, PYUSD, USDT, and RLUSD
- On/Off-Ramps: Bridges between fiat banking and crypto assets
The platform supports Solana, Ethereum, Base, Polygon, Stellar, Tron, WorldChain, and Tempo among 24+ blockchain networks, making it one of the broader multi-chain payment infrastructure products in production.
Developer Integration
Mesh offers SDKs for Web, iOS, Android, React Native, and Flutter alongside a RESTful API. The core integration pattern uses a Link Token system: a server-side request generates a session token encoding all payment parameters, which the client-side SDK then uses to launch a guided user interface for account authentication and transfer confirmation. Webhooks deliver on-chain confirmation events back to the integrating application, verified via HMAC-SHA256 signing. Returning users benefit from Mesh Managed Tokens (MMT), which enable one-tap re-authentication without re-entering credentials for previously connected accounts.
A sandbox environment supports testing across the full integration flow before production deployment.
Partnerships and Distribution
Mesh has built an extensive partner network. MetaMask (Consensys), Coinbase, Binance, and Revolut are among the wallet and exchange integrations, reaching over 900 million users globally through those platforms alone. On the merchant and services side, PayPal, prediction market Kalshi, card-funding platform Rain, and payments processor Shift4 are active clients or integration partners.
Strategic infrastructure partnerships include Paxos (December 2025), Ripple (August 2025), Stellar for settlement infrastructure, and Tempo — a payments-native Layer 1 incubated by Stripe and Paradigm that joined Mesh's supported chain set in 2026. The Tempo addition reflects Mesh's positioning as chain-agnostic infrastructure rather than an advocate for any single network.
Scale and Traction
The platform processes close to $10 billion in monthly transaction volume. Stablecoins — the primary settlement layer Mesh is built around — reached a $300 billion market capitalization and $27 trillion in annual transaction volume through 2025, providing the market backdrop for Mesh's growth. The company is actively expanding coverage in Latin America, Asia, Europe, and India, targeting regional fintechs and payment platforms as the next distribution layer.
Funding
Mesh has raised over $200 million across multiple rounds. A March 2025 Series B of $82 million was led by Paradigm, with Consensys, QuantumLight Capital (founded by Revolut CEO Nik Storonsky), PayPal Ventures, Galaxy Ventures, and Yolo Investments participating. The Series B was settled primarily in PayPal USD (PYUSD), marking one of the first venture rounds to close substantially in stablecoin.
In January 2026, Mesh closed a $75 million Series C led by Dragonfly Capital, with Paradigm, Coinbase Ventures, Moderne Ventures, SBI Investment, and Liberty City Ventures joining the round. The Series C valued Mesh at $1 billion, giving the company unicorn status five years after its founding.
Dragonfly partner Rob Hadick framed the investment thesis simply: "Payments are entering a new era where value moves as software." CEO Bam Azizi has articulated Mesh's competitive position in parallel terms: "The winners of the next decade won't be those who issue the most tokens, but those who build the network of networks that makes traditional card rails obsolete."
Positioning
Mesh occupies an infrastructure position in crypto payments analogous to what Plaid built in open banking — a neutral connectivity and orchestration layer that sits between users' financial accounts and the applications they interact with. Unlike payment apps or wallets competing for consumer mindshare, Mesh's business model is B2B: it provides the rails other products run on, remaining asset-agnostic and chain-agnostic as its primary strategic advantage.
Solana features prominently across the network as both a supported payment source (SOL) and a settlement destination (USDC on Solana), reflecting Solana's position as a leading high-throughput, payment-capable blockchain. As Solana-native applications grow their user bases, Mesh serves as a natural connectivity layer bridging those users to off-chain commerce without requiring merchants to manage Solana infrastructure directly.
