Meow Technologies
Meow Technologies set out to fix an unglamorous problem: most business banking software was built for brick-and-mortar Main Street firms, not for crypto-native startups, global remote teams, and, more recently, autonomous AI agents that need to move money without ever touching a dashboard. Since 2021, the company has quietly assembled an operating account that combines conventional banking rails, stablecoin payments, treasury management, and an agentic finance layer into a single product — all running natively on Solana alongside Ethereum and Base.
Founding and the Crypto-Yield Pivot
Brandon Arvanaghi and Bryce Crawford co-founded Meow in early 2021. Both graduated from Vanderbilt University with computer science degrees and had worked as engineers at the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini before launching the company out of a Miami apartment. Their first product let startups earn yield on idle cash by lending those funds to institutional crypto operations — a yield-bearing business checking account, essentially, at a time when DeFi rates dwarfed anything a traditional savings account could offer.
The spring 2022 market dislocation ended that version of Meow abruptly. The TerraUSD collapse in May and the subsequent Three Arrows Capital crisis sent the founders returning customer funds and rethinking the business model entirely. The next iteration was more boring on the surface and far more defensible: Meow began routing idle cash into U.S. Treasury bills, German Bunds, and UK Gilts rather than crypto lending desks. When Silicon Valley Bank collapsed in March 2023, the timing proved fortuitous — Meow attracted roughly $500 million in new deposits within a month as businesses scrambled for an alternative to the venture community's default banking provider. The company reached profitability in 2024 and tripled its customer account base that year.
Arvanaghi and Crawford were named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Finance list in 2024. The company has raised approximately $30 million in total venture funding, including a $5 million seed round in November 2021 and a $22 million Series A in July 2022 led by Tiger Global Management, with participation from QED Investors, Acrew Capital, Lux Capital, and Slow Ventures.
The Core Product Stack
Meow is not a bank. Deposit accounts are held at FirstBank (Tennessee) and Grasshopper Bank N.A., both FDIC-insured. Meow sits on top as the product layer, offering a single operating account that consolidates cash, stablecoins, and corporate cards.
The checking account charges zero wire and ACH fees and carries no monthly fees or minimum balance requirement. International payments are supported in over 50 currencies. Corporate cards — both virtual and physical — earn 2.5% cashback on AI-related spend, a deliberate feature for their target customer base of AI startups. Spend controls let finance teams configure per-transaction limits, category locks, and multi-party approval workflows, which apply equally whether a human or an AI agent initiates a transaction.
On the treasury side, businesses can ladder idle cash into T-bills, UK Gilts, and Bunds. The Commercial Paper Account program offers yield tiers for larger balances, typically with $100,000 minimums. Meow also offers invoicing with custom branding, bookkeeping, tax services, 409a valuations, founder mortgages, SBA loans, and business financing — a broad enough scope that the company functions as something close to a full financial operations layer.
Stablecoin Payments on Solana
Stablecoins are not an afterthought at Meow — they are one of its primary payment rails. Through an integration with Bridge (a Stripe subsidiary), the platform allows businesses to send and receive USDC and USDT on Ethereum, Solana, and Base with zero transfer fees, drawing directly from an existing cash balance. There is no separate crypto exchange account to manage; the stablecoin balance and the dollar balance live in the same operating account.
The Solana integration matters in practice because it enables the fast settlement times and low per-transaction costs that make stablecoins viable for recurring or high-frequency payments. Meow generates unique Solana addresses for invoice collection, supports recurring invoice scheduling, and automates reconciliation against accounting software like QuickBooks. Brandon Arvanaghi has noted that the company reached $2 billion in annualized stablecoin payment volume, a figure that reflects genuine transaction throughput rather than speculative asset values.
Beyond payments, Meow is a design partner in Solana Subscriptions and Allowances — on-chain primitives that allow service providers to charge recurring flat-rate fees and give AI agents explicit, expiring spending permissions within defined budgets. The partnership positions Meow as early infrastructure for a world where software agents need payment rails that operate without human approval at every step.
Agentic Banking: The Next Layer
The platform Meow announced in April 2026 marks the most ambitious iteration of the company to date. Through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at meow.com/mcp, any AI assistant compatible with the MCP standard — Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Gemini — can open a business checking account, issue corporate cards, check balances, send wires, pay contractors, and generate invoices through natural-language instructions. No browser access is required.
Meow describes this as the world's first agentic banking platform, and the claim carries weight: it was the first U.S. business banking provider to allow an AI agent to complete the entire company-formation-to-bank-account workflow through a single prompt, including EIN acquisition. By August 2026, Meow reported that agentic account applications were reaching record daily highs.
The governance architecture is as important as the capability itself. By default, agents cannot move money unilaterally. Transfer limits, two-factor authentication, initiator-and-approver workflows, and role-based permissions are enforced at the infrastructure level. An agent can initiate a payment; a human or a separately credentialed agent must approve transfers above configurable thresholds. This dual-control structure mirrors the separation-of-duties controls that mature finance teams apply to human employees — extended, architecturally, into a world where the employee might be a language model.
Position in the Solana Ecosystem
Meow occupies an intersection that has few other occupants: a fully regulated, FDIC-backed banking product with Solana as a native payment rail and AI agents as first-class account holders. Most fintech companies treating Solana as a payment network operate through crypto-native products with limited paths to conventional business banking. Meow approaches it from the opposite direction — a functioning business bank that added Solana, then USDC, then agentic controls — rather than a DeFi project trying to bolt on compliance after the fact.
The product targets crypto-native startups, AI companies, venture funds, and global remote teams that need stablecoin payments to be as frictionless as an ACH transfer and are increasingly running finance functions with AI tooling. The Solana Subscriptions and Allowances partnership positions Meow as early infrastructure for agentic commerce: if autonomous software agents account for a growing share of internet transactions, Meow is building to be the bank account those agents hold.
The company manages billions in assets across its platform as of mid-2026, with a customer base numbering in the thousands across North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Africa.
