Matrica

Matrica is an all-in-one community management platform built for Web3. Originally created to serve the Solana NFT ecosystem, the platform has grown into a cross-chain solution for blockchain communities, DAOs, and digital creators who need robust tools for member verification, community engagement, and decentralized governance. Founded by two software engineers with a decade of collaboration, Matrica Labs emerged from firsthand experience managing on-chain communities — the founders built Matrica after recognizing the fragmented tooling that projects and their communities had to stitch together manually.

What Matrica Does

At its core, Matrica solves a fundamental Web3 challenge: verifying that community members actually hold the tokens, NFTs, or digital assets they claim to own — and then granting them appropriate access and roles without requiring repeated re-verification. Once a user sets up a Matrica profile (a one-time process), they are automatically verified across every Matrica-enabled Discord server and quest on the platform, without having to reconnect wallets or prove ownership again.

This single-profile, auto-verification model is what distinguishes Matrica from more fragmented alternatives. Instead of each community managing its own bespoke verification bot, Matrica acts as a shared identity layer: the user proves ownership once, and the platform handles verification status across thousands of communities.

Cross-Chain Verification

Matrica has expanded well beyond its Solana roots. The platform currently supports token verification across eight blockchain networks: Solana, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, Eclipse, Base, Monad, and ApeChain. The docs describe the platform as "8 different blockchains and counting," indicating continued expansion.

Crucially, Matrica's verification engine can detect assets that are not sitting idle in a wallet. Staked NFTs, listed marketplace assets, and tokens locked into protocols are all recognized as valid ownership proof. This matters in practice: communities that previously had to exclude holders who had staked assets on DeFi protocols can now grant access based on actual economic exposure rather than raw wallet balances alone.

Community Management Tools

For community administrators, Matrica's suite covers the full operational lifecycle:

Discord and Telegram integration: Communities can connect Matrica to their Discord servers for automated role assignment based on token holdings, and to Telegram for additional communication channels. Matrica claims auto-verification across more than 1,500 Discord servers.

Token gating and collections management: Admins can set up gated roles and channels tied to specific NFT collections or token balances, with support for multi-wallet verification so holders are not penalized for spreading assets across wallets.

Questing: Communities can create and manage on-chain and off-chain quests, enabling structured engagement campaigns that reward participants for completing actions.

Events: Matrica includes event management tooling that communities can use to organize and track attendance. The platform showcased its Events System at the Solana Breakpoint conference in Amsterdam, and partnered with Tomorrowland to deliver a novel ticketing experience for festival-goers.

Sales bots and webhooks: Automated notifications for secondary sales, minting activity, and other on-chain events allow communities to stay informed without manual monitoring. Webhooks enable integration with external systems for event-driven workflows.

Governance: Matrica supports NFT-based voting, enabling community members to participate in on-chain proposals using their held assets as voting weight. This extends decentralized governance to communities that want lightweight DAO mechanics without deploying custom governance contracts.

Staking support: The platform provides dedicated support infrastructure for communities built around staking mechanics, recognizing that staking-heavy communities have distinct verification and engagement needs.

User Experience

From the individual user's perspective, Matrica functions as a Web3 identity and community passport. After connecting wallets and completing the profile setup, users gain access to all communities and quests the platform powers. The profile aggregates multiple wallets, so users with assets split across hardware and software wallets are handled correctly.

Users can also participate in governance — submitting votes on blockchain proposals through their NFT holdings — and track portfolio information including marketplace listings and NFT statuses across their connected wallets.

Scale and Adoption

Matrica describes itself as the number-one cross-chain holder verification solution. The platform has grown to serve over 2 million users and more than 5,000 communities. After launching its beta, the platform had already onboarded over 100,000 users and 500 communities, demonstrating rapid adoption within the Solana NFT ecosystem before its cross-chain expansion.

The breadth of blockchain support — stretching from Solana and Bitcoin to newer chains like Eclipse, Monad, and ApeChain — reflects the reality that many active Web3 communities span multiple chains, and community operators need a single verification layer rather than chain-specific tools for each segment of their holder base.

Business Model

Matrica operates a tiered model with a free entry point and paid plans that unlock additional features, detailed in its Pricing Guide. The platform is accessible via the main consumer interface at matrica.io and a dedicated business portal at business.matrica.io for community administrators. The documentation is publicly available at docs.matrica.io, with guides for both individual users and community operators.

Matrica occupies the infrastructure layer of Web3 community engagement: it is not a social network in itself, but the verification and tooling substrate on which thousands of communities build their member experiences. For projects on Solana and beyond, it has become a default component of the community management stack.
