Origins and Concept
The project started as a meme coin built around intellectual engagement, deliberately contrasting the idea of "brainpower" with the energy-intensive proof-of-work mining associated with Bitcoin and other chains. Rather than compete on the meme coin axis alone, the team moved to build real on-chain tooling around a core technical premise: that data can be inscribed into Solana's state cheaply enough to make permanent on-chain storage practical.

Code-In: The Core Technology
The primary technical contribution of IQ6900/IQLabs is Code-In, a state-based inscription protocol designed for Solana. Traditional on-chain storage is expensive because it requires directly allocating account space on the chain. Code-In sidesteps this by reconstructing data through state updates rather than explicit storage allocation. The protocol updates records dynamically, so data is effectively encoded in state transitions rather than stored byte-for-byte in a persistent account.
The team claims this approach cuts storage costs by a factor of 500 to 1,000 compared to standard on-chain methods, arriving at a price of roughly 0.003 SOL per megabyte. The result is a form of blockchain inscription analogous to Bitcoin Ordinals or Ethereum calldata inscriptions, adapted for Solana's account model. An interview featuring the project founder ("Zo") published on YouTube discusses the Code-In approach as a proposed inscription standard for Solana.

IQ Inscription is the flagship tool, a decentralized data recording system that lets users engrave text, ASCII art, and arbitrary data onto Solana. Once inscribed, data persists as long as the Solana network operates, without a centralized host.
IQForge is a no-code drag-and-drop builder for publishing fully on-chain websites using Solana Name Service (SNS). It targets non-developers who want to host content on the blockchain without writing code.
IQ Wide Web is a browser for on-chain inscriptions—a read layer that lets users navigate content inscribed through the protocol in a familiar webpage metaphor.

Token and Migration
The IQ token launched in October 2024 with a fixed total supply of 999 million tokens. Within months of launch, the project reached a peak market capitalization above 42 million US dollars, going through three significant valuation increases. This placed it among the more notable Solana meme projects of the 2024 cycle.
In late 2024, the team rebranded from IQ6900 to IQLabs and executed a token contract migration. A 14-day migration window ran from September 25 to October 9, 2024, during which holders could swap old IQ6900 tokens for the new IQ Labs contract. The old token contract, now labeled "[OLD]" on tracking services, retains negligible liquidity and is no longer supported for trading on most exchanges. LBank, which listed the original token, explicitly notes it does not support the old contract. The new IQ Labs token continues to trade on Solana decentralized exchanges including Raydium.
AI Integration and Positioning
IQ6900/IQLabs has positioned itself within the AI agent narrative that gained traction on Solana in 2024. The project's ElizaOS plugin, on-chain chatroom experiments, and AgentNet repository point to a thesis that AI agents benefit from censorship-resistant, permanent on-chain storage as a backend. Rather than relying on centralized APIs or cloud storage, AI agents using Code-In can read and write data that no single party can remove.
Development Status

IQ6900/IQLabs occupies a relatively uncrowded niche on Solana: combining practical on-chain storage infrastructure with AI agent tooling while originating as a meme coin. Whether Code-In achieves adoption as a developer primitive depends on third-party uptake of the SDK and CLI tools.
