About

Frictionless Capital

Frictionless Capital is a thesis-driven early-stage venture capital firm co-founded in 2022 by Logan Jastremski and Diego Perez de Ayala, investing from first principles in high-throughput blockchains and the category-defining applications built on them, with a pronounced focus on Solana.

What It Is and Does

Frictionless Capital is not a generalist Web3 fund. The firm operates from a single, clearly articulated conviction: high-throughput, integrated blockchains represent a structural requirement for global crypto adoption. That conviction has translated into a portfolio concentrated on Solana and Solana-adjacent infrastructure, though the fund extends to other high-performance networks where the thesis applies.

The firm was incorporated as Frictionless Capital Fund LP in mid-2022, filing under Regulation D with the SEC as a pooled investment fund. SEC Form D filings show approximately 12.275 million USD raised through May 2024, while the fund's own public announcement described a 20 million USD vehicle. Limited partners include Marc Andreessen and Chris Dixon of a16z, Anatoly Yakovenko (co-founder of Solana), and FTI_US, among other institutional and founder LPs. The fund is headquartered in Miami, Florida.

Investment Approach

Jastremski and Perez de Ayala describe their process as first-principles thinking, working from fundamental technical and economic assumptions rather than market consensus. Their published research, housed at frictionless.capital/market-thoughts, consists of timestamped investment memos and technical analyses. The firm made a public case for Solana during the network's most difficult period: in January 2023, shortly after the FTX collapse, the firm published "Making the Case for Solana: Fighting the FUD," standing by the network when broader market sentiment was deeply skeptical.

On the Frictionless Podcast, available on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify, Jastremski has publicly debated the modular vs. integrated blockchain design tradeoff, specifically contrasting Solana's monolithic architecture with modular approaches. His position is that integrated high-throughput chains offer a superior user experience and a more coherent path to scale than layered rollup designs. These public takes predate most of the fund's portfolio announcements and function as verifiable proof-of-conviction.

The fund positions itself as operationally hands-on. Before founding Frictionless Capital, Jastremski led Product for Tesla's Supercharging Network, a background that informs his preference for founders building at infrastructure scale.

Team

Logan Jastremski is Co-Founder and Managing Partner. He previously led Product for Tesla's Supercharging Network and is publicly known on X as @SolanaLegend. He hosts the Frictionless Podcast and has been a consistent public advocate for Solana since the network's bear market lows.

Diego Perez de Ayala is Co-Founder, listed as executive alongside Jastremski on SEC Form D filings for Frictionless Capital Fund LP.

Michael Pinto serves as Principal, per Caplight's fund database.

Portfolio

Frictionless Capital's disclosed portfolio is concentrated on Solana infrastructure and application layers, with selective extension to other high-throughput networks:

Backpack — Frictionless co-invested in Coral, the entity behind Backpack, a Solana-native wallet and crypto exchange. Backpack has become one of the more widely used application portals in the Solana ecosystem.

DoubleZero — Frictionless participated in DoubleZero Foundation's 28 million USD raise in March 2025. DoubleZero is building a decentralized high-performance fiber network specifically engineered to reduce latency for Solana validators and other blockchain infrastructure, operated as a DePIN (decentralized physical infrastructure network).

Pipe Network — Frictionless backed Pipe Network, the first permissionless content delivery network built on Solana, targeting decentralized media distribution infrastructure.

Titan — Frictionless participated in Titan's 7 million USD seed round in September 2025, alongside Galaxy Digital and Mirana Ventures. Titan is a DeFi DEX being built in the Solana ecosystem.

Panora — Frictionless led a round for Panora, an Aptos-ecosystem DEX and super-application layer, in August 2025. The investment reflects the fund's broader high-throughput thesis applied beyond Solana where technically warranted.

Solana Ecosystem Fit

Frictionless Capital occupies an unusual position: a conviction investor whose thesis is structurally aligned with Solana's architectural choices. Where many multi-chain funds treat Solana as one chain among several, Frictionless built its first fund around the high-throughput integrated chain thesis and selected Solana as its primary expression of that thesis. The LP roster, including Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, reflects the depth of that alignment.

The portfolio traces a coherent path from application-layer (Backpack) through CDN infrastructure (Pipe Network) to physical network layer (DoubleZero), consistent with the firm's view that category-defining applications require equally category-defining infrastructure beneath them. The fund's willingness to publish explicit pro-Solana research during the network's bear market, then back that research with portfolio commitments across multiple rounds, distinguishes Frictionless from capital allocators who arrived after Solana's recovery was already underway.

Media and Research

The Frictionless Podcast, hosted by Jastremski, features founder interviews and technical discussions spanning blockchain architecture, DeFi, and infrastructure investment. The firm maintains an active research blog and posts regularly on X under @FrictionlessVC.
